Biden quote of the day: "Look him in the eye and say it!"

October 9, 2008
Liberty, Missouri
Biden goes off (on message) at McCain

BIDEN: "Folks, don't be distracted by all of this. Don't be distracted. These attacks don't hurt Barack Obama and me. (Then why the fury?) They hurt you. They hurt "The American People". Every single false charge and baseless accusation is an attempt to get you to stop paying attention to what's going on in this country. Ladies and Gentleman, and by the way, all the things they said in rallies and on TV before the debate and all the things they're saying, right now, after the debate - John McCain couldn't bring himself to look Barack Obama in the eye and say at the debate."

"And folks (he dramatically takes off his jacket) in my neighborhood, in my neighborhood, in my neighborhood where I came from, you got to say something to a man, look him in the eye and say it to him." He surveys his adoring audience and adjusts his cuff links. "Look!"

Biden rating: A for staying message and A++ delivery. He missed his calling. He could have been a theater actor - he's familiar with saying other's words - and could've made a living off getting up there and letting go each night. There is absolutely no doubting this man's virility. barry is a whole nother matter. As Morning Joe said: "He looks like he'd rather be reading a book."
