Sen Burris: “Absolutely, positively” not prompted by the Feds (video)

Sen Burris makes a brief statement that. No questions.

BURRIS: We said in our testimony before impeachment committee…we would have to file additional information in our report…because it might be incomplete…we might not have answered all the questions.

When we got the transcript, it was determined - I had said yes in the transcript to all those name - but we had not addressed those names…..prompted me to file a separate affidavit that would show who we talked to and what was said.

There was no change of any of our testimony.

We followed up as we promised the Impeachment Committee.

We have done everything here that we said we would.

Whether it was prompted by the Feds?

Absolutely, positively not true.

However the Sun Times’ DAVE MCKINNEY, NATASHA KORECKI AND MAUREEN O’DONNELL report:

A source close to Burris Monday said that the senator was alerted he could be interviewed by the feds before his House testimony. The source said Burris had contact with feds about the potential interview before and after his testimony. But Monday he denied that contact had anything to do with that revised affidavit.

I was out looking for info on Gov Richardson's inability to get FBI clearance for his confirmation hearing and I ran across this interesting post from Citizen Wells. It's dated 9-30-08 and is a radio interview of an FBI agent about background checks on politicians. It was "written by Phil's Assistant". I'm presuming it was a Philip Berg assistant. [emphasis added]

ASSISTANT: We have received a lot of question asking: 'How did Obama get this far, he must have had background checks as he is a U.S. Senator.'

ASSISTANT: However, this is inaccurate according to Special Agent-in-Charge: C. Frank Figliuzzi of the Cleveland FBI.

FIGIULIZZI: Background checks are not performed on those elected, once elected they work for Congress and are handed a secret clearance.

CALLER - Do they perform background checks on candidates and fellows who are in Congress and the Senate and perhaps potential presidential candidates?.

FBI - The short answer is no. No we don't, but they're given top secret clearances because they're members of Congress, or Senators, or even higher ranking officials.

HOST - Time out. There are no background checks from the FBI on the people that lead the country, the United States of America?

FBI - Let me emphasize, elected officials. This is a democracy, the people have elected an official to represent them in Washington, and we do not routinely run background checks on those people.

HOST - Even people running for president of the United States of America?

FBI - That's correct.

HOST - That's a little weird.

FBI - Well, its part of democracy, its part of what the American people want, they want to be able to vote for somebody to represent them in Washington and they don't want us to get in the way of that and we have no predilection to get in the way of that.

HOST - Yeah, but what if they're voting for a bad person and they don't know that person is bad, do you follow me?. I'm saying, if the guy's got a background and maybe he's involved with some people that he shouldn't be involved with, shouldn't we know that as voters?.

FBI - Well, I think you'd agree that the American political process is about as rigorous as you'll ever see and if there's dirt back there, probably the opponent is gonna get it out probably before anyone else will.

HOST - Now I know why you're the head of the FBI, they're good, aren't they?.

It's hard to fathom. because of barry's admitted past history of drug abuse - he cannot be a DEA, FBI or Secret Service agent anfd yet he will be in charge of them. What is not know about Sen Clinton vs barry? he claims transparency but he refuses to release his birth certificate, his full medical and full school records.

A look at his passport history. If he held and Indonesian passport one end of story. Immediately eliminates one avenue of inquiry. And why didn't the Secret Service tell us if he was in the pew?

barry's passport could clear up one avenue of inquiry. If he held and Indonesian one - end of story. At least six people know the answer to that: an Intelligence superior, one high clearance computer person, one lower level discoverer, some type of police officer, a lawyer of some sort as well as the President. Why aren't we allowed to know that information? Maybe SCOTUS is able to subpoena them.

And China breached the system. What info do they have on barry?

No. I am not a (tinfoil-wearing) paranoid conspiracist racist who wants to destroy barry because my candidate lost. I had no candidate and did not vote. And who in their right mind would want him to fail? I'm just carrying it to extreme to point out what little access to information we have from the Man of Transparency.

And who has the ethical journalistic duty to demand the answers?

It used to be called the press. Now it's called the proobamedia.

A blitz attack on blago in July 2008 about whether he is under investigation among other things. Not sure if he realizes what he said. Mentions barry and talks about his pocket enforcer Rahm Emanuel.

BLAGO: That's absurd. it's a ridiculous. It's an absurd question.

REPORTER (0:45): You promised to come back and talk about Tony Rezko.

BLAGO: No - you guys sandbagged me.

BLAGO (0:55): Let me tell you something - I know the truth of things. And I have nothing to fear but the truth.

If you're asking me about those bank robbers, and if they were making contributions to my account, (laughs) as I said, you know, we'll give the money to charity...like barry does.

What?? Bankrobbers? Creative way to raise campaign funds....even for Chicago. I have to check this out.

More questions about investigation. And then he rants at Micheal Madigan (they hate each other as does Madigan's daughter Lisa who has made no effort to conceal it.)

BLAGO: I'm not a target of any of those cases - you know that. I'm not gonna get into that.

REPORTER: Your name's come up.

BLAGO (1:48): Senator Obama's name and a lot of other political figures

REPORTER (2:00): What's it like to be under such pressure? What's life like for you.

BLAGO: Life's good...mentions his accomplishments.

I feel great. I know what the truth is and we do things right and I'm not worried about anything.

It's aways we do things right - not we didn't do anything wrong. Political to the end. Then he talks about reporters and sensationalized reporting.

It's difficult to answer questions when people are not honest.

Then they talk about getting the bill passed to create more jobs and the pressure on folks and the worry they'll lose their city jobs.

(6:50) I even called Congressman Rahm Emanuel and asked him to call a couple of those Chicago Democratic Reps, who have a city job in addition to their state Rep jobs, and tell them no one's going to fire them from their city job if they vote for to create 600,000 jobs.

That's sound like a pretty chummy relationship. And it goes along with "Rahmbo" getting things done. Why he's chief of staff. To be that go between so barry's hands never get dirty. Wonder what perks or cash has gone Emanuel's family way?

Milorad gets rudely awakened by the Feds. His response: Is this a joke?

It was a ridiculously staged dramatic arrest. Why the need to wake him up? Why the need for handcuffs? It's not like they didn't know where he was. He has a security detail the Feds could have just called. But no - they needed their 15 minutes. No matter what they think he did - no matter how the rest of the Illinois politicians hate him - he should have been allowed to surrender himself and there's no way they needed handcuffs. It's wrong and most likely got him a juror. He got those workers their money. Mayor Daley didn't. Barry didn't and neither did Patrick Fitzgerald or the feds. it was wrong.

I got here four years ago. Alot of you were in the audience and asked me the question whether Illinois is the most corrupt state in the United States. I can tell you one thing - if it isn't the most corrupt state in the United States, it's certainly then one helluva competitor.

The day before Blagojevich gets arrested he gives the Feds the ok to tape him...problem is they already have been...sneakilyly. Blagojevich was actually out doing something good for the people. I don't know if it was his words here or the fact that he was out in the public eye railing against Bank of America or because barry's minions were caught on tape - but he got rudely arrested the next morning in a ridiculously staged arrest that would make Lincoln roll over in his grave.
