A drive by?

October 27, 2008
You decide if two men who met “about a month ago on the Internet and found common ground in their shared "white power" and "skinhead" philosophy” were capable of making a credible plan to attack Obama - let alone carrying it out.

According to AP’s, LARA JAKES JORDAN , last week Daniel Cowart (20) and Paul Schlesselman (18) confessed to their plan to shoot or decapitate 102 black people in a Tennessee murder spree, which included breaking into a gun shop to procure weapons, using nylon rope and ski masks to commit crimes to fund them and wearing white tuxedos and top hats while they do a drive by on Obama.

Two kids from one of the poorest regions in America got caught in what sounds like a gun sting couldn’t squeal fast enough, but their “Obama assassination attempt was part of this violent far-reaching plot.”

They were “charged by federal authorities Monday with possessing an unregistered firearm, conspiring to steal firearms from a federally licensed gun dealer, and threatening a candidate for president.”

[What about reporter DAVID SINGLETON, who claimed he heard a man scream “Kill him!” but never reported the threat to the Secret Service?]
Nashville AFT SAC, Jim Cavanaugh: "They didn't believe they would be able to do it, but that they would get killed trying."

Secret Service spokesman Eric Zahren said at this point, there does not appear to be any formal assassination plan. "Whether or not they had the capability or the wherewithal to carry out an attack remains to be seen.”
I think it’s pretty clear they didn’t have the wherewithal. They get busted on something unrelated and start talking. Why not go all the way? And the timing and publicity? And if Obama loses the election will it be because of racist Appalachia?
