Joke of the day: Washington Post endorses Obama

Obama got official endorsements today from the Chicago Tribune, Washington Post and the LA Times. Why did the Washington Post bother? It took the Trib over a year to get Obama to officially discuss Rezko, campaign donations, his house purchase and his tax returns, but they write glowingly:
We have tremendous confidence in his intellectual rigor, his moral compass and his ability to make sound, thoughtful, careful decisions. He is ready.

Obama envisions a change in the way we deal with one another in politics and government. His opponents may say this is empty, abstract rhetoric. In fact, it is hard to imagine how we are going to deal with the grave domestic and foreign crises we face without an end to the savagery and a return to civility in politics.
Coming from a Chicago paper well-versed in corruption and savagery and presently investigating the governor having helped send the previous governor to federal prison.
We do, though, think Obama would govern as much more of a pragmatic centrist than many people expect.

His economic policy team is peppered with advisers who support free trade. He has been called a "University of Chicago Democrat"--a reference to the famed free-market Chicago school of economics, which puts faith in markets.
And they pray. This must have been written before Ayers came on the scene the second time around or by someone completely ignorant. Can't disguise the fact that Obama is the most liberal senator and has voted with his party 96%. Where's all this reaching across the aisle?
He has had the character and the will to achieve great things despite the obstacles that he faced as an unprivileged black man in the U.S.
OUTRIGHT LIE. This endorsement had to have been written by the campaign. He was not in any way unprivileged - he was privileged - courtesy of his white family. Columbia and Harvard? a $1.65 million dollar mansion? They know this so why are they lying?
He has risen with his honor, grace and civility intact. He has the intelligence to understand the grave economic and national security risks that face us, to listen to good advice and make careful decisions.
And now honor and grace? Civility with the most vicious campaign ever? And who is going to get that good advice from at 3am? I wonder how long it will take once in office for them to do exposes on his corrupt dealings? And why did they have to mention the negatives of McCain to back up their endorsement? Typical bot endorsement. Opponents are this and that and that's why obama's the greatest even though he has no real record of anything.
