16 y/o girl drafted by professional Japanese baseball team

November 17, 2008

ERI YOSHIDA, 5' 114lb 16 y/o Japanese high schooler was drafted by Kobe 9 Cruise, a professional team in a new independent Japanese league whose first season starts in April. She said she had "always dreamed of becoming a professional". I wonder what girls in the Muslim world - Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan in particular - dream of becoming. She is a right-handed side-arm knuckleball pitcher - they don't mention her velocity - but during the tryout she retired the side without a hit. I wonder if she has to bat. I hope she does better than Michelle Wie.
