Medvedev's challenge to barry thanks to Biden

November 7, 2008
Russian President extends greetings to barry elect

I'm not going to pretend I know what any of this means but barry has already received his first challenge. Would be nice to know what's behind Biden's door #1 and if this was one of the four or five situations he thought it might be. Anyway Medvedev did something with moving missiles. From what I gather it is a threat to prompt barry into action. Good luck. Medvedev is coming to Washington November 15th so that might have something to do with it. He's getting press, which is all that matters. Somewhere Morning Joe? I heard that 3/4 of the Russian economy has collapsed so they're not exactly in a position of power. Here's selected bits of the story for those interested.

From Bloomberg's SEBASTIAN ALISON & LYUBOV PRONINA:
Hours after Obama won the U.S. presidential election, Medvedev said yesterday he'd put short-range Iskander missiles in Kaliningrad, a region wedged between Poland and Lithuania, to "neutralize'' a planned U.S. missile-defense system. A radio- jamming installation there will also be aimed at elements of the U.S. system in Poland and the Czech Republic, he said in his first annual state-of-the-nation address.
While Obama's criticism of the war in Georgia and his support of NATO's eastward expansion are similar to those of defeated Republican rival John McCain and President George W. Bush, he has indicated flexibility on the missile shield.
What else? "Flexibility" = obamanating . The only thing he does consistently.
Obama said he'll back the missile shield "if it works and if it can be financially feasible,'' Michael McFaul, a Russia specialist at Stanford University who advised him during the campaign, said in an interview last month.

Obama's campaign didn't return telephone messages seeking comment yesterday.
Kind of says it all. He'll wait till November 15 when Medvedev comes to the US. I'm convinced that Georgia and Russia is the "generated" crisis. Guess we'll see. Biden looked awfully defensive standing with his arms crossed at the great news conference...the first one in how long?
