DRG548AMY - here’s the video about Nadya’s doctor, Dr Michael Kamrava, who implanted 7 embryos in an unemployed 49 y/o woman who is now pregnant with quadruplets. She has been hospitalized and will be until she gives birth - courtesy of the California taxpayers. Contrary to this woman and Nadya, his success rates are very low, which is why he implants so many - to increase his numbers and thus increase business.
Although Nadya hasn’t said how much her IVF cost - it’s about $10K for one.
And, no, at present there are no laws regarding the number of embryos implanted - there are guidelines - which are useless if the doctor has no morals. Presently, he is being investigated by the California Medical Board and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine but is still actively treating patients. What he did was nothing short of malpractice. Medi-Cal should also be investigating him for premeditated welfare fraud.
Every doctor takes the Hippocratic Oath which is: First, do no harm. This doctor irrefutably caused irreparable harm to all of Nadya’s older children. The odds are very high that at least one of the octuplets will have permanent cognitive impairment - if not all. Three of her older children were already diagnosed along the autism spectrum, including ADHD - before she got implanted with the octuplets.
