Captain Sullenberger is scheduled to deliver commencement address at his high school alma mater: Denison High School on June 6th. He presently resides in Danville, California but grew up in Denison, Texas, which is 75 miles north of Dallas.
After high school, he enrolled at the United States Air Force Academy and received the Outstanding Cadet in Airmanship Award, given to the top flier in the graduating class. He went on to get a masters degree from Purdue University in psychology and basic sciences and receiving a number of academic awards. working with NASA scientists, he coauthored a paper on error-inducing contexts in aviation. Yes, he has a genius IQ.
