Bill Maher outs gay man on Larry King

I was looking for more sexist comments from Bill Maher and ran across this article by Elron Steele. Bill Maher was on Larry King and outed an alleged gay man, RNC Chairman, Ken Mehlman., who ran Bush's 2004 campaign. On top of that, CNN altered the original transcript covering the scumbag and themselves. And when they reaired it, the discussion was completely edited out. See video at AlterNet.org.

Original Version
Partial transcript of Bill Maher's Live appearance on Larry King Live:

BM: A lot of the chiefs of staff, the people who really run the underpinnings of the Republican Party, are gay. I don't want to mention names, but I will Friday night…

LK:You will Friday night?

BM: Well, there's a couple of big people who I think everyone in Washington knows who run the Republican…

LK: You will name them?

BM: Well, I wouldn't be the first. I'd get sued if I was the first. Ken Mehlman. Ok, there's one I think people have talked about. I don't think he's denied it when he's been, people have suggested, he doesn't say…

LK: I never heard that. I'm walking around in a fog. I never…Ken Mehlman? I never heard that. But the question is…

BM: Maybe you don't go to the same bathhouse I do, Larry.

LK: Why would someone who is gay take public anti-gay positions.

BM: hating yourself is the greatest love of all...self-loathing.

How is anything he says "funny"? How easy is it to play on stereotypes? It's like Bob Herbert and his refrain: HE'S BLACK! HE'S BLACK!

Mehlman then stepped down as RNC Chairman.

Questions initially arose in GQ article in March 2004. When asked if he was gay by a reporter, he answered, "(You) have asked a question people shouldn't have to answer. And that is 100% true.

Karl Rove's non-biological step dad turned adoptive father was gay. He outed himself in 1969. Why do I keep going on these google searches? I find out things I really don't want to know.

[I wasn't aware of politics till February 2008. These posts are filed under the original dates which is why they have current information.]

Mehlman is now serving as an unpaid outside advisor to McCain 3/2008.
