Curiosity: Ping pong ball?

Sydney, Australia: Ping-pong ball used in liver transplant to save 2 year-old girl. An adult liver was used and it was too big, pressing on vital blood vessels, so the transplant surgeon, Dr Albert Chun, used a ping pong ball to lift the liver off the blood vessels. His wife bought them at the local grocery store. The success of the liver transplant depended on a $2 ping-pong ball. Evidently the liver will grow around the ball, causing no harm to the child. Amazing, eh? Nothing graphic in video - just a chat with the surgeon, Dr Chun, and the family.

The Doctor is a genius. I hope the little girl grows up healthy. Her mom has a great attitude.
