A few selected quotes from today. A good look into the pro-Obama media. If I had the energy, inclination, or need, I would go back and splice the before and after comments. It would make a good documentary on pro-Obama propaganda and sexism in their own words -- objective and indefensible with plenty of context to put the more than just sound bites together. (Emphasis added)
Good Morning AmericaStrange to hear his ridiculous arguments again and realize people voted for him because of them. His Iraq was - and will always be - a Fairy Tale and historians will scratch their heads and wonder how people could actually fall for such fraud. What is Doris Kearns Goodwin doing? Believing that something Lincoln did in a time when he got his news by horse, train, telegraph and word of mouth compares to instantaneous global communication and an at any time terrorist attacks?
JAKE TAPPER: Clinton would bring instant international stature. Many world leaders have known her for almost two decades.
CHRIS LEHANE: I think that the Clinton name on international issues really is the gold standard.
OBAMA videotape: Now, she's met with all these world leaders. And I don't know, I was wondering which world leader told her to, that we needed to invade Iraq because that's not, that is the conventional thinking that we're going to have to break.
We hear about people voting against barry - the racists and WalMart moms and the bigoted old people - but never about anyone voting FOR him because they didn't want a woman or a "grumpy old man in his slippers and his bathrobe, picking up the newspaper, yelling at the kids in the neighborhood to get off the yard."
Direct quote from barry's new Chief of Staff, RAHM EMANUEL. Across the aisle and across the line. Classic obamantation.
CNN Anderson CooperWhich now qualifies her to be Secretary of State because barry needs help like he did to finish the primaries. Sen Clinton won the popular vote. ACORN's $800,000 help will prove that. barry is not qualified to run a city, a state, the senate and is most definitely not qualified to be Secretary of State. And if needs be saying - he is in no way qualified to be president of the United States. He realized that himself after his first briefing. Hence the need to revisit folks who really do have experience and international standing -- most notably his opponent.
CANDY CROWLEY: The wow factor would be enormous, but she is an "on the one hand/on the other hand" possibility. Widely popular overseas, Clinton could deal with patching up international relations, while the president wrestles with the economy, or her popularity makes her seem like the overseas president, or the selection makes him look confident. Joe Biden wanted to be the go-to foreign policy guy, or the two like each other. She would offer a strong voice for a president who clearly wants to put together an all-star Cabinet.
And there is the other Clinton, with broad and deep relationships with many heads of state, as well as global initiatives he's dedicated to.
She called him naive, sniffing at the suggestion he would meet with the leaders of hostile nations without precondition. And he demeaned the experience she claimed as a former first lady.
OBAMA (Videotape) My experience is grounded in understanding how the world sees America, from living overseas and traveling overseas, and have -- having family beyond our shores. Can you believe people actually believe(d) this? Having family beyond our shore sounds like he can see Russia from his house. A family he allows to live in terrible conditions. And other family members he doesn't acknowledge except when politcally expedient. He lived in Indonesia from age six to ten. And his travel overseas included (2005) a night in the UK (the only place in Europe he had been) and the former Soviet Union. January 2006 Iraq/Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, Israel and Palestine. August 2006 Chad, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya and South Africa.
OBAMA (Videotape): And it's that experience, that understanding, not just of what world leaders I went and talked to in -- in the ambassador's house, who I had tea with.Does it get any more dismissive and arrogant than that? 80 countries vs 33 days of overseas travel. An overnight and morning tea with Tony Blair the first and only time he was in Europe. And the cult followers bought it all. Still buying it.
CROWLEY: But it's not always about the resume. He [Bill Richardson] clearly has a heavier resume than Hillary Clinton, but she, again, has that kind of wow factor and that -- that recognition overseas that -- that may help in terms of healing international relations.
ANDERSON COOPER: At least two things are certain, though. The Clinton name carries a lot of currency in Washington, no doubt about that, and around the world. And despite the often bitter primary, Senator Clinton has made good on her promise to help Barack Obama win the election.
RHADNI KAYE: [Hillary Clinton] has huge name recognition overseas...The true nature of their relationship is not known, but Clinton campaigned relentlessly for Obama...60 campaign stops in all, including this show of unity in Unity, New Hampshire.
ROBERT ZIMMERMAN: I think Hillary Clinton's greatest strength is that she's a coalition-builder...And she bring instant credibility to the national agenda. So, I think her ability to build coalitions, her ability to bring together, build strong teams, I think that would be a major advantage.
GERGEN: I think he's talking about Bob Gates staying at the -- at Defense. And can you imagine Hillary Clinton and Bob Gates? That's a very strong pair. No, David Gergen. That's a very strong woman who has survived your bashing and second guessing to stand in line to help barry - as she promised and as she delivered. Just like she rocked the house with her convention speech. And you weak little weasels (Candy Crowley excepted) are being forced to admit it.
Barry is obamanating. It's all he knows. He talks a great game to get ahead and once he does he lets other people do the work and take the heat. That's why he summons the best minds around him. That's why he is going to take Larry Summers. People already have a reason to hate him and if something goes wrong with the economy he has an instant out. Just like Jesse Jackson, Jeremiah Wright, Father Pfleger (here also) and coward Bill Ayers.
Judgment?
