blago's quote of the day

January 14, 2009

Blagojevich's quote of the day as he presided over his impeachers was from Abraham Lincoln:

With malice toward none and charity for all, let us come together and get the business of the people done.

Unfortunately, the people he is dealing with want to impeach him.

Will barry wear a tophat, too?

Will barry wear a tophat, too?

December 24, 2008

This makes me angry. barry keeps comparing and modeling himself after President Abraham Lincoln, who was a man of character, conviction and great deeds. Someone who made his own decisions, acted on his words and stood by them. barry has done none of the sort. He imagines himself the second coming of Lincoln only barry is bringing The American People one step closer to a More Perfect Union through his postracial, post partisan propaganda. barry was not a great Illinois senator. He was not a great US Senator and yet he is going to be a great president?

What, folks, do you base this on? Benefit of the doubt?

barry’s attempt at Lincoln:

1-Announced his presidential bid on the steps of the State Capitol in Springfield.

2-He returned to announce his VP pick.

3-Team of rivals BS.

4-He plans to take the train from Philly to Washington before his swearing in. How else was Lincoln going to get there? Official campaign jet replete with campaign logo?

5-And will be sworn in on the Bible Lincoln was.

For $500, will he be outfitted in a top hat? Even it couldn’t house his massive ego. How is this man ever going to govern?

During his stumping he stopped at every historic presidential place he could - including his Philly Whistle Stop tour and his going to Indianapolis on the anniversary of MLK’s assassination. He’s making the movie version live. It’s presumptious and grossly messianic - just like everything else - and the proobamedia loves it. He was foiled only in Germany when they refused to let him speak at the wall.

What exactly did barry say? Anyone?

December 11, 2008

[Emphasis added]

12-9 press conference Patrick Fitzgerald: "The complaint makes no allegations about the president-elect whatsoever."

The complaint. Not this complaint. Not there are no allegations about barry whatsoever. Take careful notice how barry parses his words. I would like to know if this comes from him or his mam-grabbing drunken pig of a speech writer. People sure can't get Sen Clinton off their mind, can they? Folks who profess to hate "Hillary" can't stop talking about her - or it appears keep from touching her. Can't imagine what Tucker Carlson has in his bedside table.

BARRY (12-11 press conference NY Times)

Now, I'm also aware of your interest in the matter of the Illinois Senate appointment. Let me say that I was as appalled and disappointed as anybody by the revelations earlier this week.

I have never spoken to the governor on this subject. I'm confident [now that he's had time to huddle] that no representatives of mine would have any part of any deals related to this seat. I think the materials released by the U.S. attorney reflect that fact.

I've asked my team to gather the facts of any contacts with the governor's office about this vacancy so that we can share them with you over the next few days.

Finally, on this matter, let me say that this Senate seat does not belong to any politician to trade. It belongs to the people of Illinois, and they deserve the best possible representation.

And what has barry promised his henchman? Howard Dean? Kerry? Dodd? The pink-faced failures that have no spot? And he sure owes Barbi Pelosi. Isn't the financial crisis almost as much her fault as it is Bush's? What are barry's quid pro quos? He hasn't been around long enough to build his own relationships so he has to borrow other's and with that comes something.

BARRY: They also deserve to know that any vacancy will be filled in an appropriate way so that whoever is sent to Washington is going to be fighting for the people of Illinois. I hope and expect that the leaders of the legislature will take these steps to ensure that this is so.

And who would that be? Emil Jones who made himself a senator barry. I thought he'd be in the running since he retired and it's only a 2-year spot. barry owes him big time and it will have to be paid back. Emil Jones' son as a successor was madness. He was looking forward to working "digitally" (diligently) with others.

QUESTION: ... given the -- in your statement, when you addressed the controversy over Governor Blagojevich, you did not repeat what your spokesman said yesterday about having him -- that he should resign. Why did you not? And could you tell us what contact, if any, you know that your staff or any emissaries from you have had with prosecutors or the FBI?

BARRY: Well, let me repeat a couple of things.

Number one, I think, like most of the people of Illinois, I was appalled and disappointed by what we heard in those transcripts. And, you know, here in Illinois -- as is true, I think, across the country -- there is a tradition of public service, where people are getting in it for the right reasons and to serve, but there's also a tradition where people view politics as a business.

And part of the reason that I got into politics, ran for the State Senate, ran for the United States Senate, and ultimately ran for the presidency is because we have to reclaim a tradition of public service that is about people and their lives, and their hopes, and their dreams. And it isn't about what's in it for me. And I think the public trust has been violated.

Yes, you have violated your supporters trust by changing your positions on almost everything that originally separated you from Sen Clinton . How many times have we heard it's not about him? If it isn't, why keep bringing it up? He starts with thaa philosophical nebulous obamanating to turn people off so they don't bother listening and ends up with himself. At least the CHANGE! is gone. Can't exactly ask people to believe in the change he's already brought to the presidency.

BARRY: So let me be absolutely clear: I do not think that the governor at this point can effectively serve the people of Illinois. I -- the legislature is going down to Springfield to make a determination as to how to resolve this issue. I think they're going to come to the same conclusion

Absolutely clear? At this point...I think..I - the legislature...they. He knows Emil Jones will take care of it...and with that comes one more favor due.

BARRY: I hope that the governor himself comes to the conclusion that he can no longer effectively serve and that he does resign.

In terms of our involvement, I'll repeat what I said earlier, which is I had no contact with the governor's office. I did not speak to the governor about these issues. That I know for certain.

So, who is the first to go under the bus?

BARRY: What I want to do is to gather all the facts about any staff contacts that I might -- may have -- that may have taken place between the transition office and the governor's office. And we'll have those in the next few days, and we'll present them.

But what I'm absolutely certain about is that our office had no involvement in any deal-making around my Senate seat. That I'm absolutely certain of.

And the -- that is -- that would be a violation of everything that this campaign has been about. And that's not how we do business.

Involvement in the deal-making is not the same as taking about it. Who is "our office". What has the campaign been about? Precisely? Other than change! of his mind? How does he do business? Picking Sen Clinton when his whole platform was based on his fairy tale of Iraq? Who are the people still believing this?

BARRY: So, you know, I think that, like the rest of the people of Illinois, what I want to see is a quick resolution of this issue. I want to make sure that the next senator from the state of Illinois is carrying a forward tradition of service, that the next senator from Illinois is not tainted by what has taken place so far.

QUESTION: Thank you, Mr. President-elect. Thank you. Have you or anyone in your transition or campaign been interviewed as it relates to the criminal complaint? And who is the transition adviser referenced in the complaint?

BARRY: I have not been contacted by any federal officials. And we have not been interviewed by them. As is reflected in the U.S. attorney's report, we were not, I think, perceived by the governor's office as [he smiles like he knows he wasn't on the tapes...so far] amenable to any deal-making. And, you know, I won't quote back some of the things that were said about me. So -- this is a family program, I know.

He's gloating. A family program? People's lives are ruined -- including blagojevich's young children -- who don't know if this is daddy's last Christmas. Get a grip man. He just proved it IS all about him. He's joking while Illinois politics and the US economy burn and he still hasn't grasped how tarnished he is even if he still thinks he's the obamessiah. This man is mad. 'I have not been contacted' and 'we have not interviewed'. So that means one of the "we" was contacted. He's admitting it. Pride goeth before...everything with barry. He's trying to convince us it is not about him while reminding us it is all about him.

How is this man going to lead this nation?

Dear proobamedia, what are you not seeing? Choosing not to see? We have been telling you how corrupt and unvetted he is and still you look the other way. What is it going to take?

BARRY: So, you know -- so, beyond that, I'm not really certain where the investigation is going forward. I'll leave Mr. Fitzgerald to address those issues.

QUESTION: Mr. President-elect, can you shed any light on how it was that the governor got the impression that neither you nor Ms. Jarrett nor any of the people from your office were willing to play ball and why he said those unrepeatable things about you and your -- and your staff?

And a two-parter. We have the former -- the immediate former governor still moldering in the federal prison here in Terra Haute. What's wrong with politics in Illinois?

BARRY: Well, first of all, I can't presume to know what was in the mind of the governor during this process, so I won't even speculate on that. All I can do is read what was in the transcripts, like the rest of you have read it, and shake my head.

Now, with respect to Illinois, look, as I said, I think in Illinois, as is true in American politics generally, there are two views of politics. There's a view of politics that says you go in this for sacrifice and public service, and then there's a view of politics that says that this is a business, and you're wheeling and dealing, and what's in it for me?

And there are -- one thing I want to make sure everybody is mindful of -- there are extraordinary traditions of public service coming out of Illinois, even after Abraham Lincoln.

He can't go two straight press conferences without mentioning Lincoln. He might want to stop and think that Lincoln knows what's in his heart. Doesn't he know what honest Abe means? He'll never be like Abraham Lincoln. He wants to tie himself to slavery but it will never change the fact that he has no relevance to the Oppressed Southern Negro. None. In fact, his typical white person family held slaves. He is a bona fide descendant of slave owners. Another reason why he seems to hate his mother.

And here comes the mandatory Change! chant. What has he settled on today?

You know, you've got people like Paul Simon, and Paul Douglas, our current senator, Dick Durbin, our senior senator, and many others on both sides of the aisle who have upheld the highest standards of ethics and have made enormous sacrifices to make sure that they're getting something done for the people of Illinois.

But what you also have, I think, are habits and a culture that thinks of politics as a -- as a means of self-aggrandizement. That's exactly what has to change.

I mean, this is -- if, in fact, the various allegations end up proving to be true -- and I don't want to, obviously, prejudge all these issues -- this is sort of the far end of the spectrum of that business mentality of politics. But there are more subtle examples of it, right, that are within the lines of legality but still don't fulfill the spirit of service.

You know, we know in Washington that lobbyists that disproportionate influence. We know that in state houses and city councils all across America there are times where people are not thinking about what's best for the public good but rather making narrow political calculations. And our whole campaign was about changing that view of politics and restoring a sense that when people of good will come together and are serious about confronting the challenges that we face, that not only can that be good policy but, you know what, it can be good politics as well.

Can someone please turn the dial and tell him he's not lecturing or campaigning anymore? He is preparing to lead. Proobamedia, are you ever going to stand up and be Americans and ask questions and make him answer? The joke is on you - it always has been - and you were completely played. And when are you going to expose DAVID AXELROD? He is a lobbyist. He just doesn't have to register in Illinois. Surprise.

It turns out that the American people are hungry for that. And you can get elected by playing it straight. You can get elected by doing the right thing. That's what I hope we have modeled in this campaign. And that's what I intend to model in my administration.

And the Kennedy women?

November 22, 2008

Politicians are very small transparent people. I have witnessed it over the last nine months - how frightened and threatened men are of Senator Clinton and to what degree they will go to deny it. The proobamedia is one thing, her colleagues another and the Kennedys another altogether. The loyalists to her husband running the other way when it was time to back a woman. Cowards in broad daylight giggling in the back rooms and heartily clapping barry - someone they don't know - on the back simply because he's an alternative to a pantsuit.

Ted Kennedy - your legacy may be set in American Politics but you have left me with a bitter taste. A bitter taste from a family I had always looked on as tolerant. A family my large Irish Catholic family had revered. I see now it was all a mirage. And it's very, very sad.

Sadder still were the few Kennedy's backing Senator Clinton who never stood forward and said so. Why? What impact does it have on the Kennedy legacy that some stood silent and did not let their dissent be seen because it was a conflict of interest within their own family? And what of the ones who did not encourage them to do so even though they were on barry's side?

Women in the Kennedy family have stood silent and let the most powerful politician, who just happens to be a woman, be trashed. One cannot hold them responsible for the decades of abuse - justified or not - heaped on Senator Clinton, but they have stood silent while the Kennedy name was used to promote barry. Plenty of them sticking up and saying how proud their father, uncle or whatever relation would be. Plenty doing their part to get barry elected. Plenty so happy about the resurrected pride and popularity that they have come forward to get their 15 minutes of name-related fame.

Do they all believe in their hearts and souls that barry is more qualified? That if he weren't a black man he would be president? That if it didn't make a nice tidy package for the Kennedy legacy, he'd still be The One?

And in regards to themselves - are they delusional enough to believe they have gotten to where they are because of their own intrinsic worth? That their family name had nothing to do with it? That they weren't given the benefit of the doubt because of it and have not been attacked in the media because of it?

And Senator Clinton's name? How has that impacted her political career? How scandalous would a female Kennedy have to be before the media went after her? Would a Clinton have survived Chappaquiddick? Any politician save a Kennedy?

How enlightening would it have been for one Kennedy woman to step forward, especially one obviously pro-barry - Caroline Kennedy even - to say that the misogyny and sexism is way out of control and should be no more tolerated than barry's own race baiting.

It is what I now associate with the Kennedy Legacy: silence.

Even if the Kennedy women hate Senator Clinton, even if they think barry is the second coming of Jesus or JFK or RFK - they have stood silent while a female politician of considerable political worth was attacked on everything from cleavage to thick ankles. They of the nasal Boston accent stood silent while Sen Clinton was attacked because of her Chicago cackle. They of the Democratic party stood silent while their fellow Democrat was attacked--through no fault of her own--because of men's irrelevance, impotence and castration anxiety.

Most disappointing (and most heinous) they have stood silent while Chelsea's mother was attacked on a fundamentally feminine level.

They have made their stops on Morning Joe talking about Catholicism in America and never once said, you know, Love They Neighbor includes Senator Clinton. Maria Shriver, First Lady of California and most visible female supporter of barry has said nothing about the misogyny and obvious sexism. Caroline Kennedy became head of the VP search and said nothing when her uncle said Senator Clinton was not noble or leader enough to become vice president. And yet, Senator Clinton took the initiative to shake Senator Kennedy's hand after he had endorsed barry.

What is Ms Shriver conveying to all the young girls of California? Of America? Of the world? How is she inspiring the young girls of any anything who aspire to be president one day? How is her silence reassuring young black girls that they have as much of a chance of becoming president as their little brothers? And that if they were to try their hair, makeup, body size, voice and clothing wouldn't matter?

Will any of the Kennedy women develop a conscience once Senator Clinton is working for barry? Will that be enough for them to become women first and Kennedys--who have never been discriminated against nor will they ever--second?

They have all seen what has been happening and none have said a word or raised an objection.

Nothing anymore exists to make me feel proud of the Kennedy legacy.

Same with Oprah - the supposed champion of women everywhere. It was the premise behind her academy: that women leaders will effect change in the world, that they are the ones who will bring peace and that they just need education and an opportunity to do so. Empty words it seems. Who could effect more change in the world RIGHT NOW while those young girls are still aspiring? Who could bring that dream to reality? To prove to them that it really and truly is attainable? Can they really believe what Oprah says? Can anyone?

It seems the tolerance JFK spoke of referred only to black male Americans. That it had nothing to do with their wives, mothers, sisters, nieces, grandmothers, neighbors, coworkers and rare bosses. Would Senator Clinton had been treated differently had she been a Kennedy? A black women?

Although the odds are against it, I hope I live long enough to hear someone admit that Sen Clinton she should have won. (Did win.) That barry cheated with the full knowledge and cooperation of the DNC, the Kennedys and proobamedia. That the daily attack on Senator Clinton and her supporters was a sanctioned, malicious, planned assault carried out with the knowledge and assistance of barry's camp, which included the Kennedys, DNC and proobamedia.

Something that has still not been made right even as barry mimes "Team of Rivals". If you knew barry at all, you would know he is assembling a team of political expedience. He is selecting people he can easily cut away and throw under the bus. Go through each one yourselves and check them off. Find one who doesn't fit affirmative action, Chicago payback and/or political expedience.

When you find one let me know.

What would our forefathers and forebears think? Would they believe barry's engineered election was one step closer to a More Perfect Union? Would they be proud of how barry race baited?

I think Abraham Lincoln would be sickened by the repeated references to him, his words and his accomplishments by someone who has accomplished absolutely nothing. Someone who stood silent even as he professed unity while his opponent - a woman no less - was destroyed in the media so that he could win. Thomas Jefferson would be chuckling at the hypocrisy of it all. And Martha Washington would sit quietly and cry having known in her heart that it was going to take more than 232 years to make things right.

BARRY IS A COWARDLY WIMP

YO DUDE YOURE THE LEADER OF THE PARTY AND ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS IS ON YOUR BACK. YOU DONT WANT YOUR STAFF LEAKING THEN FIRE THEM SANCTION THEM MAKE THEM ADMIT IT WAS THEM. JUST DO SOMETHING. DONT TRY TO LAY THE BLAME ON THE CLINTONS. YOU STARTED IT. YOUR PEOPLE LEAKED. IT WAS A WELL-PLANNED, WELL-TIMED STRATEGY AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT. ITS NOT THE PRIMARIES ANYMORE TOTO AND THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE YOUR SYCOPHANTS IRATE PROVES YOU CANT HANDLE THE SHIP.

NOT THAT PROOF WAS NEEDED.

YOU DONT WANT CLINTON DRAMA? THEN WHY IN THE HELL DID YOU START THE PROCESS? IF YOU DONT WANT BE SEEN AS THE COWARDLY WIMP THE NON-OBAMERIZED ALREADY SEE THEN ACT. HAHA. AS IF THAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN. NEVER HAS BEFORE. NEVER WILL.

THIS ISNT REFLECTING BAD ON THE CLINTONS. ITS A DIRECT REFLECTION OF HOW YOU ACT ONCE YOU HAVE THE REINS. YOU DONT. THE SHOW IS ALMOST OVER. YOUR FOLKS ARE FED UP AND YOUR FRIENDS IN THE MEDIA ARE FINALLY WAKING UP. ITS BEEN SIXTEEN DAYS. EVEN I DIDNT THINK IT WOULD TURN AROUND SO FAST.

STAY IN HIDING AND YOU PROVE WHAT WE HAVE ALWAYS KNOWN.YOU ARE A FRAUD WHO WANTS TO BE THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT AS FAR AS HISTORY IS CONCERNED BUT YOU HAVE NO INTEREST OR ABILITY TO HELP THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. YOUR INEXPERIENCE IS GLARING IN THAT YOU CANT EVEN CONTROL YOUR OWN PEOPLE WHEN YOU DONT HAVE THE MEDIA SUCKING UP TO YOU.

GET A GRIP. YOU ASKED FOR THE JOB NOW START DOING IT. THE HONEYMOON IS OVER. YOU HAVE NOT BEEN INAUGURATED. YOU ARE NOT THE PRESIDENT. AND THIS IS HOW YOU HAVE STARTED YOUR TRANSITION. POWERLESS. AND POWERLESS YOU SHALL REMAIN UNLESS YOU DEVELOP A SPINE. HAHA. WHEN PIGS FLY MAYBE LIPSTICKED OR OTHERWISE.

ONE THING IS ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN. THIS WOULD NOT BE HAPPENING IF IT WAS PRESIDENT ELECT HILLARY CLINTON OR EVEN SENATOR MCCAIN. AND DEFINITELY NOT LINCOLN.

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

Dear barry:

You speak to the wisdom and integrity of President Lincoln. You present yourself as his reincarnation and allow your propaganda machine to drive the narrative. You talk about gathering a team of rivals in an attempt to unite the cosmos and save all mankind. You expected your rival do your bidding before you got the nomination. You used her in an additional 60 appearances - which she did and did well - quietly and wholeheartedly - unexpected only to the obamerized and Hillary haters - and you are too arrogant, too disrespectful and not masculine enough to thank her publicly. You are diminishing your already diminished self. And after raising $800 million dollars you still refuse to retire your rival's debt.

How are you in the least bit Lincolnesque?

Ignorant columnists of the day: Richard Wolff & Evan Thomas &

From Abraham to BarackCourtesy of Stephen Bliss / Bernstein and Andriulli for Newsweek

I'm surprised it's not: "In barry we trust". That's a stretch even for NEWSWEEK. Here's "Obama's Lincoln" by RICHARD WOLFFE & EVAN THOMAS. Not sure why it took two people to write - it's the same old propaganda.

"Two thin men from rude beginnings"? Stop trying to make barry's childhood sad and desperate. He was not poor - nor did he lack anything but his father - who he chose not to meet in person. That says more about barry than anything you'll find in NEWSWEEK.
The word came back from Obama's chief strategist, David Axelrod, who was sitting with Obama in Charlotte, N.C.: "Barack wants to lean into bipartisanship a little more. Even though the Democrats have won a great victory, we should reach out and be humbled by it. Figure out a good Lincoln quote to bring it all together."
Words not actions. And why couldn't barry talk to the man who fills up his teleprompter, which makes the pro-obama media swoon?

This is the only quote you need to read to know the cluelessness of this article. They clearly didn't hear barry's attempted roast of himself. "If I had to name my greatest strength I guess it would be my humility. Greatest weakness...it's possible that I'm a little too awesome." That, my friends, was not a joke.
"The most important quality may be humility, which both Obama and Lincoln repeatedly refer to as an essential virtue. Humility in this case is not to be confused with meekness or passivity. Rather, it comes from confidence. A Lincolnesque leader is confident enough to be humble—to not feel the need to bluster or dominate, but to be sufficiently sure of one's own judgment and self-worth to really listen and not be threatened by contrary advice.
He listens because he wants to cover himself - he wants someone else to ultimately take the heat. He is not in any way humble and the passivity is real - he has never acted and will try his very best to avoid it in the next four years. And that confidence = entitlement + narcissism = Messiah complex.
"Obama has unusual detachment for a politician. He observes himself as a kind of figure out of literature."
His detachment is real. He is an egomaniac who can't be bothered to rouse himself from his messianic delusions to help the peasants clinging to their guns and Bibles. He believes he is the reincarnation of Lincoln - only far superior in every way. He has allowed NEWSWEEK to propagandize his made-up and ever-changing background and spent the campaign trail trying to outdo each president. He even tried to equate himself to President Ronald Reagan in Germany. And for all his adulation - barry has done not a single thing.
"As a senator, Obama showed a notable unwillingness to take political risks by reaching across the aisle on controversial matters (in contrast to his presidential opponent, John McCain, who routinely sought bipartisan coalitions and was one of the Gang of 14)."
Hence the word obamanation. Forget the words - look at the (non) deeds. barry voted with his party 97% (29/30 key votes) and his dissenting vote did not made a difference. McCain, 266/335 - 79%. Look at the numbers: 30 vs 335 key votes. A senator who votes with his party 29/30 times and yet claims bipartisanship vs a senator who has proven his bipartisanship over history.

barry hasn't gotten to where he is because he is black? Senator Clinton is "tremendously qualified" for president, vice president and now Secretary of State. Imagine Senator Clinton trying to name barry to any cabinet position. Never happen. In fact - if barry were to have be enthe GOP VP pick - he would have been laughed at too.
"Obama's got a liberal voting record, and I don't know of any substantive issue where he's ever broken with his leadership," says Gingrich.
There you go. You folks finished with your books yet?

Dear Pro-Obama media members:

November

I guess that includes just about everyone in the MSM. Please stop comparing Barry to "past presidents". Lincoln got around by horse and train. He received his mail by hand and by telegraph. He had a challenge unmatched in America - the type of civil war that is happening in Iraq - that could have divided this nation forever. A civil war that could still be ongoing. Lincoln had more personal tragedy than barry has had.

Kennedy has his own challenges after he survived WWII. But he was born into a political family. FDR had physical obstacles to overcome and handled the Depression, which had no safeguards like we have in place today. A nd he handled WWII, which up until then had no match.

Minute-by-minute live coverage of the battlefield did not exist to shape the president's handling of the situation. It took months for mothers to find out if their sons died in Pearl Harbor. Now mothers can receive a cellphone picture or video of their daughters dying or being raped by their fellow soldiers and they can watch the beheading of their only sons on the internet.

And yet, barry the potential commander in chief didn't even have time to stop by and see our brave American men and women, who are emotionally broken, maimed, injured and perhaps dying in a hospital on foreign soil. The same brave Americans he will be sending into battle - some to a certian death.

Would Lincoln have done that? FDR? JFK? Bush?

No president in history has faced what America is facing. No president from previous days can be compared to this future president. History is history and this moment in time compares to no other. I say this as a regular person who doesn't know anything about American history or presidential history.

Look around. What on earth compares to anything Bush started with? Step back and take a non-salivating breath. Step away from the barry miasma and look at what is going on. Barry does not compare to a single president because he has not been one and is not now. He cannot be compared to any big city mayor or governor because he has not made a single executive decision. And he has not made a single controversial decision as a legislator.

Forget the presidents - is there a single senator barry compares to?
