Voting procedures need to be revamped

The Senate made the final official electoral count - as expected 365-173. Dick Cheney read as his last VP duty:

Pursuant to the Constitution and laws of the United States, the Senate and House of Representatives are meeting in joint session to verify the certificates and count the votes of the electors of the several states.

barry and biden can now be officially inaugurated on 1-20-09.

I wouldn't count on SCOTUS to do anything to change that - no matter how inclined and no matter the evidence. At this point it is too late - which was the point in the delaying.

From a non-political person, who has never voted and had not been involved in politics of any sort until Jan 08 - the voting process needs to be changed. Each person's vote is not counted the same. The superdelegates decided this election after the DNC Rules Committee decided to hijack the votes in Michigan and give delegates to barry whose name was not on the ballot and therefore not one vote could have been proved to have been cast for him.

Are any Michiganders suing? If so, what would be their recourse?

It was an illegal primary. A vital and (deciding as far as popular vote) deliberation went on behind closed doors. Absolute corruption. You cannot have a process be clean if one element of it is dirty. The primary results will forever be illegal.

Imagine the outrage if Sen Clinton and barry's positions would have been reversed. It would never happen. No way. Period. That alone reflects its illegality and inherent bias. The Double Standard.

Then there are all the other irregularities with ACORN, bused in voters and the choosing of South Carlina and Nevada as the two primaries moved up. And had they been Michigan and New York? It was an intentional intervention that directly affected the outcome. As was the proven to exist proobama media bias.

Should be:

1 - No caucuses. Completely undemocratic and are subject to coercion and intimidation. They are inherently biased toward some demographics - in this case, Sen Clinton's: seniors, shift workers and single moms, which most definitely the outcome as she won only 1/14. And the one she won - Nevada - had many complaints of barry voter intimidation and is presently being litigated. Again - what is the recourse? So what's stopping someone from doing it as long as nothing happens before the general election?

2 - Every state should have a vote in the primaries. The primary vote is more important and the individual's vote means more because they can vote for whomever they want - not just the final choice. Primaries should take place over the period of two weeks or so - no longer.

3 - Superdelegates should be completely abolished. They decided this election. Period. They could have voted for Sen Clinton just as easily as they both got the same amount of votes - actually more people actually pulled the lever for Sen Clinton - that should not be forgotten much the same that Al Gore's vote count. barry won by virtue of caucus states (13/14) only 4 of which were blue. That is not the will of the democrats. A caucus in Idaho should not count the same as a 100K lead in votes in a blue state like Ohio or Pennsylvania. barry did not get the required number of delegates to win. Period.

4 - ID standards should be the same in every state as should the voting machines and procedures.

5 - Both parties should abide by the exact same procedures and rules for nomination.

5 - Independents should be allowed for whomever they want in every state.

6 - Absolute cap on campaign finances. barry broke his promise and was not held accountable. Say what you want - barry bought the election. He outspent McCain massively at the end and McCain could not fight back. (Neither could Sen Clinton.)

Well, that's my two cents.

BRAZILE: This goes to what my mama taught me. (evil look 2:53) My mama - you mentioned your mother - if I was doing what I normally do on Saturday, I would give you something to take home [like she said to Begala] - but I'm not. But my mama always taught me to play by the rules and respect the rules. My mama taught me...when you decide to change the rules, especially, middle of the game, end of the game, that is referred to as cheating.

(4:12) she nods her head to the pink-faced old men next to her - she's clearly being racistly dismissive - how many of the white men in the room wrote the constitution? FYI angry Donna, women didn't have the right to vote when they wrote it either and black men voted 50 yrs before any woman could.

,,,and there are people in this room people who have written these rules since the beginning of time and I am sure WE will change them before the end of time...but we come in the spirit of unity because we come from a party that have worked for at least the last 4 decades, especially since Lyndon Johnson said voting is the lifeblood of our democracy. He put his pen on a document that came about because people marched and they died for this right to vote, so I just hope that as we talk about fairness and what's flawed and what's principle and what reflects the true intention of the voters, that we also pay tribute to those who might have written in and those who may have not have showed up because they didn't think their vote would matter that day--so we reflect them all. And I'll compromise and I just wanted to put that on the record as well.

Race in America is a goddam joke. Black men had the right to vote since 1870. Johnson abolished the conditions that blacks had to meet in order to vote. The first black man vote in 1870 and and women 50 yrs later. Blacks were still voting between 1870 and 1964. Women didn't have a chance to pass the literacy exam or pay a poll tax and when they marched they also got beaten and jailed.

How many black men stood next to them in the fight?

And how many white woman stood hand in hand with black men on the march?

The primaries were forever tainted by the back room brokering. Except this time it wasn't just pink-faced men. After their closed proceedings - a violation - they came out and give Obama delegates from a state in which his name was not on the ballot. Hos is that not cheating by any mama's standards?

The nomination of barry was fundamentally illegal. Thus the entire process is tainted start to finish.

Step back and think if the colors were reversed. Never happen. That is prejudice. 'That is The Double Standard.

CNN - Discussion of superdelegates

BRAZILE: (2:35)"796 superdelegates. I was appointed in 1998 by Bill Clinton and Al Gore and Dick Gephardt, and yes, our role is to help build the party, not to decide elections. I get two votes. I get a vote on Tuesday here in the Democratic primary in the District of Columbia. That vote is mine. But as a superdelegate, I believe that vote belongs to the American people...And Therefore I will withhold committing to any candidate until the voters decide..."

And how neutral was she? What a joke. She may not have officially committed but it was clear who she endorsed. Whatever integrity she once may have had is completely zip. Her attitude with Begala about white blue collar workers was insane. Just how many hardworking, blue collar or whatever else you want to say were Clinton's demographic? How many black voters at all were going her way?

TIME's MARK HALPERIN: "The superdelegates exist. And Donna and the others can say this is unfortunate, this shouldn't decide it. I think two things are true: All this will be fine if the superdelegates take their responsibility seriously - if they pick the person who would be the best president, rather than whose the stronger arm twister when the people are trying to get their votes from the obama/clinton camps. The other thing is, what's dangerous for the democratic party, if this is decided by the superdelegates...the loser is going to have to deal with the implications of that. And if the loser wants to take up the battle cry that this is undemocratic, the democrat party is going to have a hideous convention in Denver."

HOWARD DEAN: I think we will have a nominee sometime in middle of March or April -- but if we don't, uhm, then we will have to, were gonna have to, uh, have, make some kind of, get the candidates get together and raise some kind of arrangement. Because I don't think we can afford to have a brokered convention. That would not be good news for either party. (or his boy barry...)

FOREMAN: Chairman saying superdelegates are a bad idea, essentially, because if they really make the decision, they shouldn't be making the decision. So why don't you get rid of them?

BRAZILE: We should not get rid of the superdelegates. [because barry can't win otherwise.] We should wait till voters in Nebraska, Louisiana, Washington State, West Virginia, North Carolina, Texas and Ohio. We should wait until they vote. Let's listen to the voters in Pennsylvania - give them an opportunity to speak and at the end of the day, after all of the voters have spoken, if we don't have a clear nominee, then the superdelegates should throw their weight around...

TOM FOREMAN: How can you possibly not have a clear nominee? In the end somebody gets more votes than somebody else. End of story. (haha) All the superdelegates get on board with the more popular one. Why not?

BRAZILE: ...Why should we shut down a debate right now because of some fear of a brokered convention? This process will work it's way out. At the end of the day we will have a clear nominee sometime in May.

FOREMAN: Democrats screaming about what happened to Al Gore because of the electoral college and the courts I don't see how the party's possibly going to say to their followers across the country, now we've picked a candidate who didn't win the popular vote?

HALPERIN: Discusses vote vs delegates..."For this cycle, I think they all should just focus on a simple thing: Who they think the best president will be. If they do that, they can all have a clear conscience and the candidate can feel good about it and not think it's based on BACK ROOM DEALS."

FOREMAN: What do you think happens if it goes down to the superdelegates and HC & BO are essentially tied?...You don't tug on Donna Brazile's cape....Comes to a coin flip and they become a ticket." (7:40)

Brazile's face shows no way the DNC & SD are going t allow that.

FOREMAN: "You have suggested that you will quit if you have to pick the winner."

BRAZILE: I believe that if this process is prematurely shut down because we want to rush to get a nominee because we want to take on John McCain -- meaning we will not hear the voters in the upcoming primaries and caucuses, I will vacate my position on the DNC....But I will not support a party that shut the vote down. On that note, we'll have to do something about the vote in Florida and Michigan - those two states did not comply with the rules, but we should find a way to ensure that the voters in those two states have a voice in this process.

(September update: Now it's ok to call this demographic white working class...walmart, hockey moms and barry still doesn't have them. But Begala and Clinton are racists. Shows how little integrity she and the rest of the obama camp have and how they used the race card to win. Undeniable proof everywhere, especially when they tried to use the race card against McCain. (Dollar bills) And Halperin? SHRC took the high route that not a single obamabot would have taken. The country would have rioted. But SHRC?

And look at Brazile's words about not shutting the process down and FL & MI having a vote. Did she stay true? Absolutely not. And Halerpins's back room deal happened just as he said and Barry got votes from a state he was not on the ballot. COMPLETE AND UTTER FRAUD but in the favor of a black man and against THAT WOMAN so it's perfectly reasonable.
