blago's lawyer quits

January 16, 2009

Gov Blagojevich's high-powered lawyer, Ed Genson states he will not represent Blagojevich for his impeachment trial. Neither Sam Adam Jr & Sr who were also retained for his criminal case. Reasons given - Blago has no chance at a fair trial and Genson et al will not be able to present an adequate defense. Then there's the matter of money, discovery and inevitability. Why add a loss? Fitzgerald has limited much of the discovery because of the criminal investigation. Blago has yet to be charged with anything and Fitzgerald's theatrical arrest resulted in absolutely nothing but a fast impeachment, which the Illinois legislature wanted anyway. It was an assist that should be looked in to. And once Blago's impeached, Fitzgerald can take all the time he needs since blago is no longer in a position to do damage. It's all a joke.

And they drew in Mrs Blagojevich for what? If blago did what is alleged - it's criminal. But what they did to blago's wife and children for the sake of sensationalism was just as criminal. ill resign to keep any type of evidence private.Maybe he'll resign.

And what about barry's team? When was the last time you saw Emanuel and Jarrett in public with barry? Will Jesse Jackson Jr (or Sr) be visible on Inauguration day?

Interview with new barry replacement appointee, Roland Burris

December 30, 2008

NBC 5 News Chicago = Roland Burris interview with Alex Perez.

PEREZ: Do you understand the controversy behind your appointment?

BURRIS: I separate it. The governor has his problem. I understand it. Perhaps he has some serious problems. That has nothing to do with Roland Burris. I have no problem with going to US Senate and doing a job for the people - not only of Illinois - right now the nations needs someone with Roland Burris' talent and skills.

PEREZ: Sen Dick Durbin already said that all 50 senators have said that they would not seat the appointment made by Governor Blagojevich. When you hear that...what do you say?

BURRIS: I will say to them - and I think they better check the law -that what the governor has done is constitutional [smile]and legal. I respect the president [elect] but he does not have the authority.[smile]

PEREZ: What about the allegations against Blagojevich? You can't ignore them.

BURRIS: I can ignore them. Why not? They don't impact me. He has to get whatever is coming to him from the court of law and not from...public opinion.

PEREZ: So how hard is it going to make your job if walking into it says we don't want you Mr Burris?

BURRIS: That's their problem. [Smiling] That's not my problem.

Haha. Why not? He's gets a lot of publicity and has nothing to lose. I wonder what he thinks about barry and the fact that barry never paid his dues while taking credit for legislation he did not work for - Ricky Hendon's videotaped interrogation law comes to mind. And I wonder how Burris felt about barry throwing Revs Wright and Jackson under the bus. And Bobby Rush has never exactly been a fan of barry's.

Burris is a veteran politician who knows how to play the angles and still look like sweet grandpops. Not so for Emil Jones, who was still in hot rod's corner last week. I wonder if he still is behind him now that Burris got the appointment...

Obama's great-great-great grandmother's grave found

Grave marker of barry's great-great-great-grandmother's uncovered in Everett, Washington

a

According to STEVICK's article, on October 14th, Obama's great-great-great grandmother, Rachel Wolfley's grave marker was uncovered in Evergreen Cemetery in Everett, Washington. She was born and grew up in Ohio and then lived in Ohio and Kansas as a married woman. Her husband, Robert Wolfley, was a farmer and served in the Civil War.

"Military records show that Robert Wolfley served with Company A in the 145th Ohio National Guard infantry near the end of the war. It was a 100-day regiment formed to protect Washington, D.C., during the major campaigns that Gen. Ulysses S. Grant led into Virginia in the spring of 1864, Shipman said. He received a Civil War pension, which went to his wife after he died in 1895."

He was buried in Olathe, Kansas and she presumably moved from Kansas to live with her daughter, Addie "Anna" Butts and son-in-law, Nathan Butts, whom she is buried beside.

Mrs Wolfley died on February 8, 1911 at age 75 after a prolonged illness. I wonder what it was - 75 was a long life back then. And I wonder if her husband was wounded during the war and what he died of. She reportedly belonged to Methodist Episcopal Church.

Snohomish resident Karyn Weingarden and retired funeral home director, Jim Shipman, who once managed the cemetery, found her final place of rest after being prompted by a phone call. Strange how his grandmother, Madelyn Dunham died less than three weeks later.

Obama's Washington campaign director, Joshua Field, confirmed the story. I wonder if this much research has been put into finding Obama's African relatives by anyone other than Axelrod - so he can keep them hidden. Barry plays up his African Americanness and yet hides his black family and dismisses his white ones. Nobody but his sister, Maya Soetero-Ng, knows the truth and she isn't talking. The pro-Obama media has been noticeably quiet about his illegal alien aunt and about the burial plans for Mrs Dunham, but have written article after article about the potential first pet.

Obama's mother Stanley "Ann" Dunham was born in Kansas and spent her high school years in Mercer Island, Washington. She moved with her parents to Oahu, Hawaii where she met Barack Obama Sr, a Kenyan in the US on an education grant and in due course Barry arrived.

For the record, Barry Sr did not come over on a JFK sponsored airlift and Jr wasn't born because his parents got together after Selma (he was already 3).

Here is the extreme irony of this. Barry had no exposure to segregation. He was born in the most diverse state (which had just joined the union) at a time when interracial marriage was legal. He had never traveled in the south until his campaign. In fact, the first time he visited his mother's birthplace was on the stump.

He is African American in that his father was from Kenya - no relation to American slavery. He was not an immigrant and did not apply for nor become an American citizen. Whereas, his mother's family held slaves and fought in the Civil War (for the North).

So, yes, he identifies himself as African American, which he is genetically, but he is biracial and has no relationship to the plight of the Oppressed Southern Negro.

Rev Jesse Jackson might well be in a castrating mood while Barry lectured the black community about "their burden", "their responsibility" and "the need for reparations".

Barry's family is the one who may owe reparations - he is not a black man who is owed reparations.

One wonders how he reconciles this when he gets up and speaks for "black America". He was given a book deal (because he was the first African American President of the Harvard Law Review) to discuss race in American. To that end, his book of mythology chronicled the racism he was allegedly exposed to as a way to give himself credibility. Who can challenge him? Some of his claims have been downplayed by those close to him at the time. (I'd find the quotes but nobody cares.) For instance, no one corroborated his claim of racial epithets repeatedly scrawled on the bathroom walls at Columbia - though it would be very easy to check since he writes the admistration painted them over.

He created his story. He admitted to it later in his re-release Preface. He admitted to making up composite characters. Once his characters are called into questions - so his own. In particular because, prior to being found out, he had stood by it's integrity.

Who is left to vet it? Why was his grandmother sequestered away? His sister is the only one who knows truth as far Barry goes. Think of the enormous burden she must carry - especially now as she grieves alone for a woman that she alone has cared for for decades. Add to that the need to answer direct or silent questions about a brother who can't fly his ready at a moment's notice private jet to honor his late grandmother. He couldn't even find it in his heart to stay one more day to celebrate his grandmother's 86th and final birthday.

How does one do this and then not mention her death until the press found out about it later in the day? Totally not mentioning it on his first campaign spot with no outward signs of grief and then once it was made known shed a few tears for his audience. I can't judge him or his method of grief - it defies logic - and if he is anything, he is logical.

It's sad really. Listen to his own words and watch him say them. He speaks about not wanting to make the same mistake twice: missing his grandmother's death like he did his mother's.

BARRY: "Most people understand that if you are not caring for your family, then you are probably not the kind of person who is going to be caring for other people."

His mother, his grandmother, his aunt, who is in the country illegally (barry first sponsored her nine years ago) and then there is his his half-brother George living in severe poverty and his grandmother scraping by. One of barrys $2000 suits could make the African blood he claims comfortable for a year. George lives on $1/month and just wants to live without using his fists and without the threat of being shot or macheted to death.

How is this ok? How can he talk about "saving Africa" when he ignores the well-being of his own African family? Barry is being deified by the world while he neglects his own blood. He lets his aunt live in the country illegally (He knew and Axelrod knew) and then when she is discovered, he said he had no idea, that he hasn't been able to talk to her and that laws must be enforced. Who believes this? He says he doesn't want to make the same mistake twice and then he is too busy to go to Hawaii to comfort his sister, who is all alone, and who all alone knows the truth. I cannot imagine being in that situation. What does she tell her children?

Barry's words, as usual--as always--are just that.

My friends, what are you not seeing?

Quote of the day: If Bill hadn't done what he did in South Carolina..."

December 26, 2008

Morning Joe

They're are talking about the campaigns - extolling the greatness of barry's campaign. He outspent and outraised Senator Clinton and they both got the same amount of votes. He out spent her in PA and she won by 10 points. He won 11 in a row and couldn't get the required amount of delegates. He never beat her. He was handed the nomination. Period.

BUCHANAN: [Sen Clinton] had one of the greatest comebacks I've ever seen in politics.

MIKA: Yeah, that was something.

BUCHANAN: April and May she's pounding that guy. [He looks at Watson] You're smiling now. You weren't smiling then.

CARLSON WATSON: Here's the truth and I hate to say this outloud. Her husband, I believe, loves her death. I think her husband wanted her to win - but I think if Bill hadn't done what he did in South Carolina, that comeback could have been complete.

And here's the greater truth. barry's camp went into South Carolina with a memo made up painting Sen Clinton as a racist. All set and ready to go before Mr Bill or anyone else said a thing. Their race-baiting strategy was going full force. He needed to get the black vote behind him and how better than to paint his opponent as a racist? How many you are aware of the memo? How about Mr Bill's actual statements and what lead up to them? What about Rev Jackson's comments that he was not offended and did not read anything into them?

It's all so tiresome and not worth going into. I'll find the links to the old posts.

Senate candidate #5: Jesse Jackson, Jr

December 10, 2008

Jesse Jr tries to extricate himself from being named in the indictment as Senate candidate #5. He has adopted Template 118: Righteous indignation.

(10-31-08) taped call. BLAGOJEVICH:

We were approached pay to play. That, you know, he'd raise me 500 grand. An emissary came. Then the other guy would raise a million, if I made [Senate Candidate #5] a senator.

Rezko set Blagojevich up for less time? Is that what got him to squeal to the feds? His sentencing was due that very day and is now indefinite. Emil Jones? Something tells me it will come back to Rezko. Another prominent fundraiser? The unions? It better not be Jesse Sr. To think Jr sold out Sr for that senate seat. I wonder what their relationship is really like. Jr always talks about his high profile name and what his father is up to but without his father he would have never gotten a start. Jr has kept himself together and has been waiting for this moment. Well, not this moment but the senate seat.

Here's Jesse on his way to the press conference. Doesn't mind talking or mugging for the camera. I saw a video of him coming out of Blagojevich's office Tuesday and he said the process was "thoughtful". We can see what Blagojevich's mind runs on...cash. The $90K Rezko addition to his house doesn't seem like a big deal now.

video courtesy of SwimmingPolarBear

JACKSON JR (12-10-08 press conference video):

I thought mistakenly I had a chance. I did not know this process had been corrupted. I did not know that credentials, qualifications and record of service meant nothing to the governor....

I did not initiate nor authorize anyone, at any time, to promise anything to Gov. Blagojevich on my behalf. I never sent a message or an emissary to the governor to make an offer or to propose a deal about the U.S. Senate seat.

I spoke the the US attorney's office on Tuesday. They shared with me that I am NOT - I am not a target of this investigation. (keeps head down) and that I am not accused of any misconduct. In the days ahead, federal law enforcement want to meet and discuss what I know about senate selection process. I look forward to cooperating

Fitzgerald told him he was not a target. We already know the target was primarily Blagojevich and his top aides or the middlemen will go down too. But that doesn't mean he's not the subject of the investigation. So the door is still open. The allegations are out there and the amount of money is not unreasonable and he is candidate #5. Perhaps that's why Fitzgerald looked so sad. They acted quickly because barry's name came up. For sure it had to.

But Jackson's lawyer James Montgomery Sr set the table earlier:

Politicians and fundraisers do some very strange things from time to time. I wouldn't put it past someone to be purporting to represent Jesse without authority.

Here comes the Jesse Jr's bailout:

I have retained advice of legal counsel. Mr James Montgomery, Sr, who held his own press conference earlier this afternoon in Chicago. On his advice, and due to the ongoing investigation, I will not be taking any questions.

Nor, I think, will barry.

Larry Summers

November 7, 2008
The image “http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/19/Summers_Lawrence.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
Al Gore look-alike, Larry Summers; barry commemorative foreign donor $1000K Bill.

There are a few people barry's going to have to talk to before he appoints Larry Summer as Treasury Secretary. Larry's signature is already next to the presidents on the dollar bills barry likes to point out he doesn't resemble. Wonder if he'll have him make up a faux dollar the way he had a faux presidential seal made.

Summers exhibits poor emotional intelligence, does not like to be challenged and is used to being in a position of power, where he ruled over people he considered innately inferior to him: women, and perhaps African Americans. Maybe that is not disturbing to barry, since he tolerated a pastor of 20 years - comfortable enough to have him baptize his children - who practiced bigotry of all varieties: Catholics, Jews, rich women, rich white men, former President and First Lady of the USA (wonder how he'll react when folks do that to barry), white America, US Government, US Military, Italians...

The nomination will show whether barry puts his ego and need to rule first. Whether he is willing to admit he isn't the expert on something. Whether he acts with characteristic obamanator political expedience. What else has he? Or whether he does the right thing for the The American People, who he said should trust him without him having done anything with consequences.

He didn't have any concrete plans on the economy during the primaries, except spreading the wealth around: "And as our economy changes, let's be the generation that ensures our nation's workers are sharing in our prosperity." Senator Clinton did from day one, (The View 10/07 said she had an economic plan that she "I will start working on that IMMEDIATLY with Congress," which is why she came on strong, as barry limped home and was carried over the goal line. He didn't have the economy in his top three at the end of March on The View and probably wouldn't have mentioned it if Elizabeth hadn't brought it up, even as he dismissively flipped his hand at her. Seems the viewbots forgot that show.

That was March 08 - Remember the promise (speech) when he announced his bid for the presidency in Feb 07? "That's why I have a plan that will bring our combat troops home by March of 2008." He announced he would have them home five months before his coronation and 10 months before his ascendency. Even the obamessiah couldn't pull that off. And people voted for him because of his politically expedient speech on Iraq. He did not have a say - in any fashion - and admitted in 2004 he wouldn't have known how he would have VOTED - as in when he finally had to act.

His Iraq "judgment" was a complete fairy tale and the obamerized still believe it even after he has continues to "refine his position" (lie). One day the obamerized are going to be very embarrassed they fell for it. Just like those Nigerian internet schemes. I understand those people who get sucked in now - they're barry democrats...including the Nigerians. Wonder what size t-shirts they ordered?

I digress. Summers supports bigotry, free trade, globalization and exporting pollution to undeveloped countries. I wonder if he's behind sending old computers to China? Sure hope he has a plan to increase jobs at home, at the same time outsourcing them to pollution dumping countries because poisoning the environment and inhabitants has less impact in poor countries.

Here are a few people who can vouch for Summers' bigotry and elitism. I'm sure barry will justify it as CHANGE! and UNITY!

1- Dr Phyllis Kanki
2 - Cornel West
3 - Conrad Harper
4 - Al Sharpton
5 - Jesse Jackson
6 - NAACP
7 - Liberal intellectuals he accused of being Anti-Semite
8 - Women, especially Hillary Clinton supporters
9 - Doctors and Professors in Science and Mathematics and their daughters
10 - Mrs Obama - to see where she really stands on women's rights and whether she really will pick up the fight as was promised to Clinton supporters. (Don't hold your breath.)

It all comes down to money and political expediency...just like barry's entire political career. Obamanating: the only CHANGE! we can be sure of.

Obamessiah withdrawal

November 5, 2008

What are all the obamerized going to do? They must have massive obamessiah withdrawal. Lee Cowan is going to need therapy. Joe Klein is creepy to begin with but he looked positively delirious this morning saying that the Taliban wants to negotiate with barry!! Brian Williams actually tried to say he was neutral. I didn't hear what Brokaw said. Mika conceded that things happened to barry's opponents that might not have been right. Tucker - surprise of all - said he was still upset at what was done to Senator Clinton. This a man who crosses his legs when he sees or hears her. He does it with Nancy Grace too. He didn't seem to mind piling on at the time.

Rep John Lewis' face speaks volumes. As did Rev Jesse Jackson's.

barry: "IF I LOSE , IT WON'T BE BECAUSE OF RACE"

April 28, 2008 FOX News Interview with Chris Wallace.

Obama says unequivacally that RACE WILL NOT BE AN ISSUE.
WALLACE: Senator, for all your efforts to run a post-racial campaign, isn't there still a racial divide in this country that is going to make it very hard for you to get elected president?

OBAMA: And if I fit the bill, then they will vote for me. If I lose, it won't be because of race. It will be because, you know, I made mistakes on the campaign trail, I wasn't communicating effectively my plans in terms of helping them in their everyday lives.

But I don't think that race is going to be a barrier in the general election.

How he has changed his mind. Especially with the dollar bills when axelrod FINALLY admitted they were using race. On Clyburne ad Bill Clinton

WALLACE: Congressman James Clyburn, one of the top African American politicians in this country, said this week that blacks are furious with Bill Clinton for playing the race card.

Do you agree with him that there's been a deliberate effort by the former president and some Clinton supporters to make race an issue in this Democratic race?

OBAMA: I don't think there's been a deliberate effort. You know, I take the president at his word that, you know, he is...

WALLACE: Which one?

OBAMA: Well, oftentimes, you know, I think that he's been going after me hard. He may not have intended it in a racial way. I think he just sees me as competition against his wife. And that's what, you know, husbands do, hopefully, or spouses do in...

WALLACE: Lumping you in with Jesse Jackson...

OBAMA: ... political contests. Well, you know, I thought that that was probably somewhat dismissive, you know, after we had won that contest pretty handily.

And Jesse Jackson did not find anything offensive about what President Clinton said.

RANT of the day: "Kill him"

October 16, 2008
Third (and final) Debate

Barry mentions the alleged comments: "terrorist" & "kill him" in the debate but the chant of "kill him" had not been substantiated by anyone - including the Secret Service agents in attendance. But barry told the whole nation that it happened. Barry: "In which all the public reports indicated (aka nothing was confirmed) were shouting when my name came up things like: 'terrorist' and 'kill him'. How can you say that to 60 million people or whatever when it has not officially been vetted? It can never be unsaid. It's just a variation on the race card. barry's campaign can't get any scummier. For mentioning Ayers - a very real concern except to the probarry propaganda outlets - McCain was compared to George Wallace and Birmingham bomb of the church that killed four young girls. How more vile does it get? Even a man who served our country, without being drafted and held hostage for 5 years, can be called a racist. It's absolutely disgusting and beyond irresponsible.
October 11, 2008
Rep Lewis: "George Wallace never threw a bomb. He never fired a gun, but he created the climate and the conditions that encouraged vicious attacks against innocent Americans who were simply trying to exercise their constitutional rights. Because of this atmosphere of hate, four little girls were killed on Sunday morning when a church was bombed in Birmingham, Alabama."
Do y0u know that Condelezza Rice actually knew the girls?

And Joy Behar repeated the same thing on The View yesterday...that someone had yelled: "Kill him." and Gov Palin said nothing. What can she say if nothing was ever said? How many people watch The View? And what else would the media write? They're in a full court press to hide Ayers, Obama's fundraising, his birth certificate, ACORN, what the Mrs and Rev Jesse Jackson Sr said and who knows when Wright is going to bust free. Only Rezko is safe until after the election, though Blagojevich is getting in on the barry bashing...before he joins Ryan up in Oxford.

I can't wait till this election is over. It's a fraud. Imagine if barry loses? McCain can never "win" just like SHRC couldn't. It will be because the racists won't vote for barry. Anyone else tired of this crap? barry has yet to set the black community straight on "The Clintons". That's another rant...

Biden tears, panders to single moms, needs investigation

Joe Biden chokes up for votes. Where were those tears when Hillary was called a cunt, a bitch, a whore, a whiny sow and when the MSM (his camp) attacked Sarah and her pregnant daughter? Where were his tears when the first dude was being labeled an incester? Where were those tears for Katrina? We saw something very clever in St Louis, we saw a sensitivity factor - something Biden as never been able to do. We saw tears -- not in response to Katrina, not in response to other issues that have devastated the American people, including the war in Iraq -- we saw tears to pander to single mothers. And those tears need to be analyzed. I know there are a lot of issues we can be emotional on in this campaign, and yet in this dynamic, in the Show Me state, we saw how far Joe Biden will go to get elected.

Where was Norah O'Donnell asking if someone thought Biden was affecting the tears? And they call out Palin because she didn't pause...what a heartless bitch Palin is. And had she stopped and said Joe, you ok over there? She would've been a mom who can't be professional. And maybe she didn't react because she knew it was as fake as the other 50% audience did. Or maybe she didn't hear him because she was focusing on her last comment. If anyone knows this woman at all - it's clear she's not an automaton - but she's a woman - so she's mindless and cruel.

Seems one size fits all with female candidates - misogyny, deny it, question their femininity, call them heartless bitches, question their intelligence and experience, tear them down for their actions as a mother and wife and insult their ability to govern. Nobody gets the benefit of the doubt against barry. I've had it with this media. Just how important are the chicks who sit in the anchor chair and comment on women more powerful than they will ever be. What else are they going to do so they guys don't attack them? They're so ignorant that they don't realize that the misogynistic pigs feel that way about all women and when their pretty faces fade they're gonna be taken to the family vet, too.

Major gaffe of the day: Jesse paved the way for an Osama bin laden

July 21, 2008
Morning Joe
Tiki Barber, Mike Barnicle, Dan Rather, Mika

They're discussing Jesse Jackson's castration comments.

video courtesy of tikarules

TIKI: In a different respect - you've been in the news business a long time. I want your take on this Jesse Jackson issue. First, on what he said. But secondly, and I think more importantly, the fact that it was released - because he was off-air. This wasn't something that was for broadcast. What's your opinion on that?

DAN RATHER: Well, these days with the 24 hour news cycles, you can never assume that anything is off-air or off the record. You have to - anything you say, you have to be prepared for it being on the front page of tomorrow's paper after it's been on cable television. With Jesse Jackson-I recognize this is not popular said to alot of people-I have a great respect for Jesse Jackson. That he was important figure in paving the way for an Osama bin Laden to appear. But this is one of those things, I think, that by the time we get to the convention nobody's going to remember it - it doesn't count for very much.

Sexist quote of the Day: "Tears that melted the Granite State."

January 7, 2008
New Hampshire
The "tears that need investigation" Obama Campaign Co-chair Jesse Jackson, Jr.

Maybe Jesse jr should start his investigation here.

Instead he preferred to rag like the rest of the bots. Pathetic these words coming out of a grown man's mouth - in all seriousness. He's so used to barry the fraud that he couldn't recognize true passion.

The woman who asked the unscripted completely spontaneous question voted for barry. How's that jj jr? Or should I ask how much you paid her for her vote?

Gaffe of the day:" He's articulate and bright and clean and a nice looking guy"

January 31, 2007

Senator Joe Biden announces his presidential bid and shows the nation what they will be getting. Not a bad guy just a guy who speaks his mind that can be interpreted as not PC.
courtesy of StevenLoneWolf

BIDEN: I mean you've got the first sorta mainstream African American who's articulate and bright and clean and a nice looking guy. I mean that's a storybook, man.

OBAMA: You'd have to ask Senator Clinton I mean Senator Biden what he was thinking. I don't worry too much about what folks are talking about during the campaign season.

OBAMA: He called me. I told him it wasn't necessary. We have got more important things to worry about. We have got Iraq. We have got health care. We have got energy. This is low on the list. He was very gracious and I have no problem with Joe Biden.

OBAMA statement: I didn't take Sen Biden's comments personally, but they are historically inaccurate. African American candidates like Jesse Jackson and Shirley Chisholm, carol Mosley Brown and Al Sharpton gave voice to many important issues through their camoaign, and no one would call them inarticulate.

JESSE JACKSON: Knowing Joe Biden the way I do, I'm sure he didn't mean it as off-color, but it is certainly highly suggestive.

BIDEN: Barack Obama is probably the most exciting candidate that the Democratic or Republican party has produced at least since I've been around. Ask Obama what I thought. He knows what I meant by it. The idea was straightforward and simple. This guy is brand new and something no one has seen before. My mother has an expression, clean as a whistle and sharp as a tack. That is the context. He is crisp and clear. He was not intending to take a shot at his opponent and colleague.

BIDEN statement: I deeply regret any offense my remark in the New York Observer might have caused anyone. That was not my intent and I expressed that to Senator Obama.

AL SHARPTON: I told him I take a bath every day.

MINISTER FARRAKHAN SERMON 11-9-08

November 9, 2008
Mosque Maryam
Chicago, IL

Minister Louis Farrakhan: "America's New Beginning: President-Elect Barack Obama"

(From video start at 5:00) 46:00.

He prayed and then thanked the congregants and the media - including the foreign press

Congratulations are absolutely in order for President-elect Barack Obama. What happened on last Tuesday has energized the world of man and mankind in a way that has never been seen before in the history of political elections in the United States or anywhere else in those nations who are committed to the principle of democracy.

The huge crowds that president-elect Barack has spoken has never been seen before in a political arena. The only politician to my knowledge that came close to having this effect on people was Senator Robert Kennedy in his bid to become president of the United States. From what we saw on the night he was confirmed as president-elect, the faces that we saw in Grant Park and Harlem and the White House, in different parts of the world - they all reflect that same spirit of incredible joy.

With what we have suffered as a people, it was for many - if not all - black people a confirmation that God had not forsaken us. And even though we have been the last hired and the most fired on the lowest socioeconomic ladder. Even though we suffer from any many maladies that are literally destroying us as a people, President-elect Barack Obama’s meteoric rose is a phenomenon of huge proportion.

People are political scholars scientists of religions or otherwise should attempt to analyze. And from our perspective as followers of Muhammad, we should attempt to analyze this historic event from the point of view of God.

What I saw in the faces of all those who were present at Grant Park here in Chicago, and in other places around the nation and the world was a oneness of spirit that I had personally never seen or heard or felt since the Million Man March. This meant to me, that as the spirit of God was present, when nearly two million black men and women entered to Washington, DC. And many thought we would be there to act foolish. But the spirit that was on that mall, on that day told us that God was present.

That same spirit, said to me, that God was present that night in that place and wherever people of all races and ethnicities and political affiliations were present. There was that oneness of spirit. Well Senator Obama's campaign had unleashed a spirit that even before he became president -elect had unleashed more spirit that had been unleashed in the breasts of black and brown and Asian and poor white and others and young people, particularly young people than I had ever witnessed.

This hope did not come in a vacuum. This desire for changed has intensified in American and throughout the world because of the failure of governments to adequately address the needs of people under their rule. And that is why the message of change resonated so strongly in America. And in resonated in all people across the world because no government, no ruler enjoys a rulership where the people are completely satisfied.

So who is this young man? And how should he be handled in light of his historic victory? And in light of across all spectrums of this society, he was successful in gaining their support. But even in this remarkable even the country still remains divided and polarized.

Mr. Obama won by 8 million votes over his opponent. 65 million votes were for president-elect Obama and 57 million Americans voted for Senator McCain. Almost 70% of those who had the privilege to vote and did vote. 70% of the electorate they say voted. Many of the voters who voted for Sen McCain were older Americans and most reside below the Mason-Dixon line, where racial attitudes and traditions die hard.

How do we read that?

Congregant: Ignorant!

What does that mean? We can change laws but it is difficult to change attitudes. That takes time. And while we as a people would love to see that kind of change, we have to be the contributors to produce a change in attitude with those among those who have been our former slavemasters and their children.

Guns sales across American have surged in the wake of Mr. Obama's election. I was told yesterday morning - I don't really know the truth of it - but I heard that there was a man in South Carolina that took pride in flying his flag at his home, but when it was announced that Barack Obama would be the next President of the United States, the next morning his flag was down and draped over the garbage can.

There is intense emotion that has been built up on both sides. Emotion for and emotion against. And even though Senator McCain's concession speech in my judgment was one of the finest, in my opinion, I had heard him make, it was not enough to relieve the pain of lose and frustration and disappointment to those who felt great pain at Obama's rise, which makes the difficulty of uniting the country even more so.

Now the pollsters should be going out now to see how deep the division and to see what steps can be taken to heal the disappointed pastors, politicians, business people and teachers to help make a smooth transition in many schools the white and blacks broke into different chants": white power, black power, Fights broke out in some schools and I'm sure many of our people have unfortunately lost their lives because of absolute hatred that is manifested now that one of our own has risen to such a high office but you know this is not their America and not ours. We paid a heavy price.

And I'm not saying this with vitriol or hatred but the sweat and the blood of our fathers has soaked the soil of this nation and we have died on every foreign shore were American felt She had an enemy only to come home and find we were the enemy for whom we had fought.

We helped America to become rich while we remained poor. We helped America become free while we were seeking liberty. We helped am become powerful and oft times it was the government itself that worked to keep us powerless.

But in spite of all of that we rejoice. In spite of all that we have been through to see the tears of Oprah Winfrey matching the tears of their least little brother, who many be a gang member or a gun toter. But they do cry so many people after said there hope for am I hope so there has never been a warner or prophet of who came into that society to feel the wrath of God every prophet preached hoping that the people would turn from away that was not good that the

Talks about Elijah...he's a warner from God but it wasn’t it his heart that America would fall that American would reap warning that her mistreatment of the poor pitiful black man and women was a cause for God's displeasure and that unjust policies of the government that made people across the world hurt for America's benefit is what is causing the judgment of good and the anger of the people of the world.

This is why president-elect Obama received congratulatory telegraphs from across the world. Because America affects the whole world. And what is happening in America in the down turn of her economy is affecting the economies of the whole world. So president-elect Obama's rise has not only given hope to the world it. That this young man can actually bring about the change. That he said he would attempt to bring about.

Verse in the Koran

So if it is God who laid this burden on Barack Obama YOU SAY WELL it was 65 million but we believe that nothing happens except by the active or permissive will of God. So many things were done to make it that he would not see the victory and I don’t have to waste time rehearsing the ugly things that were said and done.

For nine months I have quiet because I saw that the good words that I spoke about this beautiful young man, at our Savior’s Day Convention and the way they were misused and the way I was - I decided that it would be better for me to just keep quiet rather than be drawn into the controversy that was swirling around his pastor Father Pfleger and others. And they kept using my name to try and draw me out but the Minister wanted to see Barack successful. And the Minister decided I would not say anything. I feel freer today, to say the things that are in my heart.

The question for America and the world to ask and answer since everyone on the earth has some religions persuasion - some belief in the almighty we have to ask, was god involved in this young man's victory. Because if God is involved and he is - then it is God who has laid on this young man this horrible burden time at the worst time in the history of America and the world. But it is also God that has given this young man this tremendous capacity to handle what God has put on his shoulders.

In his victory speech Tuesday night, we could see in Mr. Obama his resolve that he understands the gravity of that which has been placed on his shoulders by the American people and the world and also by God. I know that he did not mention God in all the many people who aided him, but I believe in all my heart that he knew that God was with him and even though he might have nit have mentioned God to the very end - what that man has done and what he is doing and will do is in the name of God.

What is the burden that God has laid on this young man, especially now that we believe that God has blessed him with the capacity to handle it?

We have to determine now what time we are living in. What is the demand of the time because that sets the agenda the religious scientist of America and the world should study the teachings of the prophet?

Billy Graham to sit with many presidents to given them...

And brother Barack, I humbly, respectfully say to you that the condition that America and the world is in, you will never be able to turn it around without the help of God and people of goodwill....

We are living in the time of judgment of this present world. The things that are ... on should make the most ill-informed of us. If you can see the collapse of the dollar, see the economy, see that something is happening that should tell you that something of great magnitude is happening that the scholars and scientists of knowledge told us this world have no solutions for.

God has touched the wealth of America and thus sent the whole world into a spiraling downward, because the whole world is connected to the economy policies of America China and Japan are making and effort to extricate themselves from being tied to the dollar. Because America's fiscal policies have hurt the entire world.

Now we don’t know anything about those things. We know the fiscal policies of America - we are suffering right along with the rest of the world.

China's economic growth is 10%. America's annual growth is 2.2%. Japan's economy is strong and China and Japan have become the two richest nations on earth and America now is really poor. America is really really poor.

But to keep up the image of Her former greatness in the world, She has to borrow and borrow and borrow and that has made the future of America's children very bleak unless the God will help Barack.

And the scholars and scientists who are not connected with unjust policies will help Barack turn a negative, as Rev Jackson would say, into a positive.

I heard Lou Dobbs, the independent commentator on CNN say ‘American is tanking’. Others are saying it in other terms that the country is in a free fall and even others are saying that the economy is in a free wall and that the economy will collapse putting America into grave great straits. The scientists and scholars of money are saying if the economy of American collapses then people will be in the streets fighting for bread.

This is not an hour that we should just rejoice, rejoice. This is an hour that we should be very, very thoughtful and reflective and prayerful. The Secretary of the Treasury Paulson says that they have many tools to keep the economy up, but I think he is running out of tools.

I'm not saying this as a joke. Cause there is nothing funny about what is going on and what this young man has to face. They're talking about another stimulus package. Not only did president-elect Obama say stimulus package either now before the end Bush' term and another one after he is inaugurated. Which means the Federal Reserve as to print up new money with nothing to back it or borrow money from foreign countries that are very strong in America's dollar.

Well, there a lot of things that need to be done, all right - but there is no money to do it. So whatever America gets - she has to borrow. There's not enough money coming in from taxes to even service the debt, much less pay down the principle. America is 10 trillion dollars in debt and it is growing everyday and depending on how you look at the books - because some scholars say that there are two sets. The one that says She's 10 trillion in debt. But then when you aid Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, and similar obligations the total rises to 60 trillion dollars. The debt that American is in is worth more than all the land and all the buildings on the land.

You didn't hear that did you?

Now president-elect Obama is being briefed on matters of security and intelligence and security that he would not have known as a presidential candidate. They are opening up realities to him that make the outlook for his success even more bleak. And these are just the man-made disasters.

We have watched our brother, young and vibrant and handsome and eloquent and have seen him get grayer and wait, wait this is just a campaign. Oprah Winfrey said the other night it looks like that he may be saying in words to himself: 'What have I have gotten myself into?'

Yes it is heavy, but I don't believe that Almighty God has wasted a moment in bringing that man to where he is. He is a very special human being and the more you know about him - this man not only is brilliant but he is a masterful organizer. And in his acceptance speech that night, he said we have to organize block by block. Now look to organize American like this it's going to place on every one of us and the American people a responsibility for the future.

We cannot say that because he is there, everything is gonna be alright. And I can just go back to sleep. No. No. No. The whole country is awake watching Barack.

One brother called me today and said watching Barack we got interested in politics. we got interested in the process, and registering. Now we know something about the Electoral College and how many votes it needs. And we're involved now.

Yes, and I believe president elect Obama will have to get everyone involved because the job of helping him is not just with his cabinet or Congress the job of helping this nation out of its condition is a responsibility that everyone has something to do about.

If you look at the weather, the natural disasters are causing America to spend an awful lot of money she doesn't have...natural disasters money has to be spent and that's what FEMA is all about. But they too need more money put into them. Where is the money coming from? And if these disasters increase, God would bring calamity after calamity after calamity until there is submission on the part of those who rule - this injustice cannot continue or calamities will continue.

We can do something about stopping the calamities by committing ourselves to the principle of justice. (40;00)

These are critical emergencies but the ongoing intractable problems of war and the threat of war in Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Syria, Israel, Palestine, Russia, The Congo, and Sudan. These are pressing international problems. But there is also the incredible poverty of billions of people on tour planet - living at $2.50/day or less.

The incredible poverty of Haiti and the disasters that are striking Haiti. What is America's role? How can American help when American right not needs help - but American can help.

There is no accident that we are here. We didn't come on the Nina, Pita or the Santa Maria.

There is a scripture in the Bible. All things work for good for all those who love the world according I don't care who brought us here or who sold us from Africa or elsewhere. What's important is why did God permit it and what is the good end in it all?

And what part do we play in producing the good end. There’s and immigration reform that is needed and energy policy and Medicare system and Social Security system and unworkable health care system. All of these thing immediate attention.

There hasn't been a president since Franklin Roosevelt that has to deal with the collapse of the country. Then of course we must tack on to that the immense hatred that is among the citizens of America, that do not wish to ever see a black man and a black family as the first family in the white House. There are some who believe it is called a White House is because only a white person should be in that house. And for a black person to be there as a baker or a cook or a security guard some would see that as sacrilege.

Mr. McCain in his convention speech spoke of President Roosevelt's invitation to Booker T. Washington to dine at the White House and how it was taken as an outrage and even now code words are being used to stimulate certain behavior in those whites show feel tremendous loss that Senator McCain did not win.

Well we have handed barrack obama a job that that only God could help him solve. There is a parable a history in the holy Koran that I would like to use as warning and guidance. If God has given this young man to us as a mercy to give America a chance to change and to produce change in the world that the least of us can have a benefit f their lives, then I give you this history.................
