I realize I never posted Blagojevich’s Today Show interview when they made clear why she is going. Show starts June 1st. Either they are going to keep her on for a while or get rid of her right away. All depends on what Milordad’s role is..

Embracing her new role as reality show contestant, the former First Lady of Illinois is on her way to Costa Rica to compete in an NBC reality show.

Her email autoresponder now says: ‘I will be out of the office and in the jungle until further notice.’

“Patti is going to compete because this is what a mom does for her kids and for her family,” says Glenn Selig, founder of The Publicity Agency and spokesman for Patti and her husband Rod Blagojevich, the former Illinois governor.

Patti accepted an offer from NBC to go to Costa Rica when a judge said the former governor who has been indicted could not travel out of the country, says Selig.

“On the show her strategy is to be herself. She’s funny, witty and I think extremely likeable.”

Based on the hit U.K. reality show, “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” is a groundbreaking live series event that premieres June 1 on NBC.

Celebrities of various backgrounds will be dropped into the heart of the Costa Rican jungle. They will face challenges designed to test their skills in adapting to the wilderness and to raise money for their favorite charities. It’s the ultimate Swiss Family Robinson as participants face fun and comedic challenges designed to test their survival skills.

“Patti may be adventurous but at most she’s only spent one night camping,” says Selig. “She is a ‘big city girl’ and this will be challenging.”

America is the puppet master, controlling their favorites by putting them into challenges and tasks to win food, supplies and luxury items by casting votes.

“Patti hopes the public votes to keep her in Costa Rica because the longer she stays the more money she raises for charity,” says Selig.

The following is a statement from Reem Odeh, a member of Drew Peterson’s legal team, in response to authorities identifying the body found in the Des Plaines River as being a man:

There was a lot of speculation that the body was that of Stacy Peterson, and Stacy’s family was notified about the discovery. This isn’t the first time the media has jumped to conclusions and tried to solve a case based on incomplete information.

We can take no joy or relief in the fact that it isn’t her because some family somewhere will be grieving. But we hope this invigorates a global search for Stacy and brings attention to the fact that she is still missing. Her family misses her and wants her to come home.

And her still married engaged husband?

Haha. Appears Selig is having the last laugh on this one. He sends out a press release: Leave the blagos alone! and today it’s yep she’s gonna be on the show. And yep Blago got another Today Show appearance out of the deal and will also be on the show in some “surprise” capacity. Isn’t everything Milorad does a surprise – which is really no surprise? Here’s the press release. Wonder if his next press release will have anything to do with a blue barrel….

The former first lady of Illinois, Patti Blagojevich, will go to Costa Rica to compete in ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ Patti and her husband, former Gov. Rod Blagojevich, appeared on NBC’s Today show to make the official announcement.

“The job was originally offered to her husband but when the judge said he couldn’t go to Costa Rica NBC asked Patti to go in his place,” says Glenn Selig, founder of The Publicity Agency, the public relations firm which represents Patti and Rod Blagojevich. “She accepted and went to LA. earlier this week to take part in a promotional shoot and to prepare for the show.”

While Patti Blagojevich goes to work for her family, the former governor will be ‘Mr. Mom’ to his two daughters, ages 12 and 6.

“He jokes that in a way she will have it easier competing in the jungle,” says Selig. “He knows how hard it is to take care of the kids and to run a home.”

The former governor will be pulling for his wife as she competes on the show for a chance to be win top prizes for charity and for her family.

Even though he won’t be traveling to Costa Rica to be a contestant, the former governor will be involved in the program in other ways which will be a surprise, says Selig.

Yo, Cyrus, pay up!

Blagojevich publicist tells the media leave the Blagos alone. Hard to believe they would be out with their trucks again. Won’t be now that a body’s been found. They might be visiting his other client….What kind of sound bites are they looking for? Selig doesn’t deny that she is/will be on the show. Why doesn’t he get Rod a radio gig?

PRNewsChannel: Reports that Patti Blagojevich will be traveling to Los Angeles today for the show “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” are false. Mrs. Blagojevich is not traveling anywhere out of town today or this week for that matter.

Both Patti Blagojevich, and her husband, the former governor of Illinois, ask that for the sake of their children that you give them their privacy.

“There is no need for the media to park live trucks outside of the Blagojevich home,” says Glenn Selig, founder of The Publicity Agency (www.ThePublicityAgency.com) which represents Rod and Patti Blagojevich. “They are living their day to day lives and they’d very much appreciate some privacy. Joel Brodsky Drew Peterson’s lawyer will be making the rounds. From Glenn Selig:

Joel A. Brodsky, criminal defense attorney for Drew Peterson, who was indicted and arrested Thursday for the death of Kathleen Savio, will appear on all three network morning news programs Friday morning in New York. He will also do interviews with WGN TV in Chicago, MSNBC, WLS Radio and WFLD (Fox) Chicago.

The defense team representing Peterson, the former Bolingbrook police sergeant arrested today for the murder of his third wife Kathleen Savio, says he will be vindicated in court.

“There is no evidence that links Drew Peterson to the death of Kathleen Savio or anyone else for that matter,” says Joel Brodsky, lead criminal defense attorney for what promises to become the newest ‘trial of the century.’ “Drew did not harm Kathleen, he has said so from day one. We’re obviously disappointed a grand jury indicted him. But an indictment does not mean guilt.”

“Prosecutors will need to prove Drew Peterson is guilty in court, and they can’t because he didn’t do it.”

BLAGOJEVICH: I’m saddened and hurt but I am not surprised by the indictment. I am innocent. I now will fight in the courts to clear my name. I would ask the good people of Illinois to wait for the trial and afford me the presumption of innocence that they would give to all their friends and neighbors.

The governor is not in Chicago and will not be doing any interviews. He is spending family time with his wife and kids during spring break. They ask that you respect their privacy.

Blagojevich was indicted on 19 counts of political corruption including: fraud, conspiracy, wire fraud, extortion, attempted extortion, false statements and racketeering.

John Harris is cooperating with the Feds and is charged with only one count of wire fraud.

Drew Peterson and his "fiancee" featured in PEOPLE magazine

It's out as of yesterday. Press release from Glenn Selig, his publicist and blago's publicist. This is scumbags media rebound from his brother-in-law going on TV saying he think he helped dispose of Stacy's body. I don't think I posted that. I'll go look.

Drew Peterson and his fiancée Christina Raines are featured in this week's PEOPLE magazine that hits newsstands Friday, the PR agency that represents Peterson announced today. The couple was interviewed and posed for a photo session with the popular entertainment and general interest magazine.

"PEOPLE magazine featured Drew Peterson when Stacy disappeared more than a year ago," says Glenn Selig, Peterson's publicist and founder of The Publicity Agency. "The engagement renewed the magazine's interest in Mr. Peterson. For Mr. Peterson, this was an opportunity for PEOPLE readers to see him in a new light."

The only light people want to see him in is in a prison cell.

Peterson lawyer re: Thomas Morphey’s immunity

Well this is the second time I am trying to post this. I have more posts about Drew Peterson from recent developments that I’ll get to later. Here’s drew’s lawyer Joel Brodsky responding to the resurfacing of drew’s brother in law, who thinks he helped carry Stacey’s body out of the house in a blue container - he said it “felt warm”. He does have a past history which is why drew enlisted him.

Thomas Morphey has a documented history of severe mental illness, drug and alcohol addiction. An offer of immunity by the State’s Attorney made in the hectic days following Stacy’s disappearance does not make a statement by Mr. Morphey any more credible.

Ousted Blagojevich lands book deal

Blago’s media blitz payed off. He landed himself a book deal. Wonder if barry pre-ordered a copy and whether Rezko will get an autographed copy. Call him whatever you want - but he was impeached and his wife was fired from her $100K/yr job and they have 2 little girls to feed besides paying for both of their legal defenses.

Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich today signed a six figure book deal with one of the largest independent book publishers in the U.S., the PR firm representing Blagojevich announced today.

Blagojevich, who vehemently denies he tried to sell President Obama’s senate seat, will write about the discussions, the considerations and the factors involved in picking Obama’s successor to the U.S. Senate. Blagojevich maintains he was hijacked from office because of politics. In the book, he will write about his journey that led up to the twice-elected governor and former congressman being ousted from office. He also plans on exposing the dark side of politics that he witnessed in both the state and national level.

Phoenix Books is run by maverick publisher Michael Viner whose titles include books from celebrities like mega-rock star and businessman Gene Simmons and talk show host Larry King. Phoenix also has a large selection of popular fiction and intriguing mystery books.

“The governor chose to go with a large independent company because he wanted to tell his story without any restrictions over content that might’ve come with a major publishing house,” says Glenn Selig, Blagojevich’s publicist and founder of The Publicity Agency. “He simply did not want to accept constraints or conditions on what he could say in this book.”

Selig says the governor will tell the American public the truth about what happened. He does not intend to pull any punches and will reveal information and provide insights that will at times be embarrassing to himself as well as to others.

“There were some people in high places who didn’t want the governor to write this book and worked to try to squash a book deal,” says Selig.

The terms of the book deal were not disclosed. The book, which has a working title of “The Governor,” is set to be released by Phoenix Books in October.

The literary agent of record is Jarred Weisfeld of Objective Entertainment.

Drew Peterson and Christina Raines to be on The Today Show

Peterson and Christina Raines will appear together for the first time for an interview on NBC's 'Today' show to set the record straight on their relationship, says Glenn Selig, Peterson's publicist.

"There has been a lot of misinformation and confusion that played out on national television," says Selig. "Drew tried to shield Christina from the media spotlight but when they broke up for a short time she did a live interview and it didn't go well."

After questioning from Julie Chen on CBS' 'The Early Show,' Raines said that the engagement was a stunt. Raines then recanted the statement later that same day saying she never meant to say that.

Despite facing intense pressures from Raines' family, the couple has reunited. Raines and her two children moved back in with Peterson on Tuesday afternoon. They are still engaged.

On NBC's 'Today,' the couple will set the record straight, explain why Christiana said what she did on the Early Show, and why she decided to move back in with Drew. Raines will also address those who worry about her being with a man who is accused in the disappearance of his current wife, Stacy, and implicated in the death of his third wife.

Peterson denies involvement in both cases and has not been charged.

This first joint interview with Peterson and Raines was taped inside Peterson's Bolingbrook home and is scheduled to air Friday on 'Today.'
