barry humiliated the tv/radio correspondents at their little roast last night but what are the chances any of them will admit it? There’s no way around it. It’s there in his words, his intonation, his laughter (when no one else found his “jokes” funny), the pleasure he took in saying them, the audience’s non laughter and their faces on camera. He joked that they were second stringers, that he’s a celebrity and they’re not and then about them potentially losing their jobs. None of his comments were meant in the spirit of a roast. Then there’s the Larry Summers fat boy joke and the Brian Williams clogged the toilet joke and the unbelievable joke about Gitmo detainees involving world leaders.
And how will they report on it?
Depends on if they mind being humiliated. They haven’t minded looking foolish, ignorant or embarrassed. Depends on whether they feel they deserve a bare minimum of respect from the man they made president. But mainly it depends on how well they can convince themselves that he wasn’t enjoying it as much as he clearly was.

Incredulous performance. Not at all unexpected or out of character — but shocking in that he completely humiliated the people who have gone out of their way to get him elected. And he did so with obvious glee.
The person who laughed the most was barry — a fact not lost on the camera crew, who made sure to film folks who were pist, embarrassed, shocked and not even close to laughing. It looked like a classroom of first graders being made fun of for wetting their pants.
The leader of the free world had a regular riot making 6th grade fat, ugly and toilet jokes. He joked about joking with world leaders about Gitmo detainees. He joked about the folks in the room losing their jobs. He joked about the husband of his strongest Kennedy ally. He joked about his Secretary of State’s fractured elbow and how it might have been intentional.
His longest joke was about his pal Brian Williams…sorta. It was just a segue to talk about himself and what a great leading man he is. No joke. The video ends abruptly after his unbelievably insensitive and in no way funny joke about the tanking radio/TV business – which is happening in large part because of the media’s love affair with him.
The question is: was it enough for them to see he doesn’t care about anyone but himself?
That nothing is sacred to him — not them, not their families, not the American people, not even the Office of the Presidency?
That the person they have created on paper, on video, in the blogosphere and inside their head does not exist?
That sooner or later the truth is going to be revealed and each and every one of them will be exposed as having been corrupted?
Unfortunately, I don’t think public humiliation is going to be enough to wake some of them up. It will be business as usual: barry rocked, we laughed, fun had by all. No matter their spin – more folks than the sadly disillusioned maroon-haired kid walked out of there with a much different view of barry than they had when they walked in.
BARRY: I want to express my appreciation for the opportunity to tell jokes that weren’t funny enough for me to to use when we did this five weeks ago. [laughs] Whatever.
That ‘whatever’ should have clued them into what was coming.
Jokes may not be as good — but neither is the guess list.

For me there’s no contest. Why bother hanging out with celebrities when I can hang out with the people who made me one?

WOLF BLITZER he uses to insult his favorite target – LARRY SUMMERS. (Summers knows barry is clueless.) He said Wolf’s situation room is cooler because:

Ivy-league educated President of the United States reduced to fat kid jokes about a person he appointed. I don’t even think the women Summers insulted would find joy in that.
Next a classy joke about his Secretary of State who broke her elbow, requiring surgery. ANDREA MITCHELL can’t contain herself.
Secret Service spotted Richard Holbrooke spraying WD-40 all over the driveway…Hillary’s ready to settle [her personal injury lawsuit].
Next about BRIAN WILLIAMS, which LEON PANETTA enjoys and which got the loudest applause…until they realized it was just so barry could talk about himself. And what was intended as a joke, with their latest time spent together and the looks on both of their faces, came off as a fantasy….
A few nights ago I was up tossing and turning, trying to figure out exactly what to say. Finally, when I couldn’t get back to sleep, I rolled and asked Brian Williams what he thought.
The truth is Brian Williams is a terrible house guest. He put an empty milk carton back in the fridge, leaves his wet towels all over the Roosevelt Room…we’re pretty sure he clogged the toilet and didn’t tell anyone.
I must say the whole thing was worth it. “Inside the White House” is my favorite new show…there’s just something really compelling about main character…interesting narrative…
And he keeps right on about him and mentions shows that are not news insulting them yet again.
In fact, the show has been such a hit other shows want to film their own:
ABC has a show “Dancing with the Czars”
TLC has something called “John & Kate with Peter Orszag”
Nick at Nite’s play on an old classic “Leave it to Uighurs” [pronounced weegers - more detainee humor]
And then to show that nothing is sacred to him he disses his strongest Kennedy ally’s husband and then the press. Again.
Of course, they’ll all be competing with Governor Schwarzenegger’s new reality series, “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me out of Here!”
That’s how I feel tonight.
As much as they deserve their comeuppance – it was tough to watch their leader do it to them in their house and on camera. Toward the end, folks looked disgusted and more than a few had to have walked out of there having seen the light.
It’s possible that some of these could have been funny, but none of them were delivered in the spirit of jest. They were meant in a decisively cruel way. But how many of them will be honest enough to admit it to themselves? To each other? To the blogosphere? How many will confront him about it?
This is as hysterical as his daughters’ going on a joyride as an explanation for Air Force One’s terrorizing flyby over Manhattan.
It’s nothing personal but this dinner conflicts with my date night…I was supposed to be going out with Michelle for Thai food…in Bangkok.
Then he takes a shot at RAHM EMANUEL, which he makes sure to do at every opportunity, just like Larry Summers. He mentions pictures of Rahm riding a camel.
I admit, I was a little nervous about the whole situation. I said at the time, ‘This is a wild animal known to bite, kick and spit. And who knows what the camel might do?’
The camera shows ERIC HOLDER trying not to laugh because he knows he’s on camera – but he also knows about the no love lost relationship between barry and Rahm. How Rahm doesn’t show barry the respect of a president and how he will always get away with it because he knows exactly who barry is and what he has done. Hence barry’s cowardly attacks in public.
Then — this is impossible to believe — he actually jokes about the Gitmo detainees and how all of the world leaders said to him:
“No thanks, but have you considered Pulau?”
Pulau has done him a favor already accepting some. And who is going to step up now? Watch the incredulous face of the young guy with maroon hair turn into disillusionment. Sad really.
Then, if possible, it gets worse. Just listen how barry laughs at them – his guests – and it is real ridicule. He makes a direct assault on their livelihoods — something that determines whether they can stay in their homes and feed their children, which is as hysterical as someone getting up and “joking” about his assassination.
We’ve been working around the clock to repair our major financial institutions and our auto companies – but you probably wouldn’t understand the concept of troubled industries working as you do [smirk - laugh] in the [emphasis] radio and television industry.
Silence. Instead of sensing the classlessness of his “joke” he taunts them.
Then it cuts off. I don’t know if it’s the end or they just didn’t want Youtube to watch them being humiliated any more. I’m sure barry said he was just kidding and that they have a tough job because they have to dig for the truth and then thanked them for their unbiased and fair treatment and keep up the good job. As I’m sure they gave him a standing O. As I am sure it will be interpreted as “poking fun at”Ho-ho-ho. We don’t joke about that, huh? That’s not funny!
This media lovefest of denial has got to stop. Does any “reporter” or whatever they fancy themselves have integrity? Or even a semblance of a grasp on reality?
Have they always been like this? I only got involved last January and only then because of the obvious barry bias. What I would like to know is if they really believe the crap they write or they’re doing it because they don’t have any choice. Because if they tell the truth at this point the world will see how corrupted and ridiculous they look.
It’s too late. Eighteen months too late.
Here’s Michael Wolff over at Vanity Fair – something I’ve never read. And after reading his words – which made my skin crawl – I won’t ever again. He prattles on with jagged excessive words about what a genius sarcastic “I don’t know – I’ll get back to you” Robert Gibbs is. It made me wonder if he was writing it in the bathroom with only one hand on the keyboard.
I won’t even dissect the article because the tone of the words is too creepy. Here’s just a few quotes.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs seems to be in total control of the media.
When did this become news?
It’s been that way since at least March 3, 2008 when the obamerized man-loving press allowed barry to walk away after answering like, 8 questions, already. They were completely corrupted at that point and I argue that Gibbs had nothing to do with it. The press were willingly and knowingly entrenched in a pathological glazed-eye crush of a man they knew nothing and still don’t know anything about.
They chose to become corrupted and have remained so. Polls have proven it and the media has even admitted it – laughing all the way ha-ha-ha.
Folks like Mark Halperin and Tony Blankley, with his dismissive reference to “weird little internet sites”, went on record just to go on record. They did nothing in the heat of the battle. They did nothing when it could have mattered.
What good are their words after the fact?
The national press corps is barrymedia. MSNBC is barry TV. NEWSWEEK is the pro-barry propaganda newsletter. Kos and Huffington Post are his blogging slaves and Factcheck is completely biased – their “factchecks” ridiculously parsed – most notably the “birth certificate” that Gibbs lied about and said was online.
The mainstream media across the board have willingly chosen to embargo anything not probarry and have magnified any possible anything against his opponents/enemies/naysayers to cover up barry gaffes.
Case in point: Joe Biden made a remarkable admission about the young president being tested by a generated crisis and to just hang with them no matter what the polls say. He basically said that barry is going to need help because he’s clueless and that he – Biden – already knew what the crisis was going to be and how they were going to react.
And what does the media chooses to focus on?
The wardrobe.
Mika Mommy Brzezinski declared a “Biden attack-free zone” with Scarborough saying on air that he was going to email around to see if the media was going to run with the Biden story. Dan Rather, who one would think would be incensed, sat quietly and commented that if it was Gov Palin instead of Joe Biden it would be an above the fold story. Goebbels never had it so easy.
Historians are going to wonder what was in the water. The New York Times that Wolff mentions several times has already started admitting they willfully did not report things that could have hurt barry – surprise – like the recent ACORN revelation by Hoyt. His justification was humorous: it wouldn’t have mattered anyway.
It doesn’t matter if was a completely innocuous story. They withheld the information. They made a choice to help a candidate – something the public overwhelming believed they would do and did. They were willingly corrupted. They have lost all credibility – something they can and will never regain.
Their corruption began early on with the story about Sen McCain. And what they did to Senator Clinton was unconscionable. And despite theirs and the rest of the daily, often hourly, barrymedia attacks – Sen Clinton got the same amount of votes. He won 11 in a row and couldn’t close. He never won anything — he was anointed by the just as intentionally corrupted DNC who had put a mechanism in place to favor him.
What if it were Michigan and Florida instead of Nevada and South Carolina?
What if Sen Clinton was the one given votes decided on behind closed doors in a state where her name was never on the battl?. That little transaction forever illegitimized the primaries.
And even after he was anointed he needed Sen Clinton to stump for him. And this man of character intent on Change! and Uniting! Transcending Race! and Reaching Across the Aisle! couldn’t even reach across his own party. He didn’t even have enough integrity (self-confidence) to call off his attack dogs.
He’s never been in it just to win it. Victory means destroying his opponents – with his barrymedia assisting him the whole way. His ego, so massive he couldn’t bear to talk to his democratic predecessor. Still can’t. Says a great deal about his insecurities and gross lack of governing skills.
He did not win this election in any fashion. One-third – 8 million – eligible black voters couldn’t even be bothered to register to vote for “the first black president”. There wasn’t a “massive voter turnout” in the black community. After 8 years of Bush and with barry as the candidate only 2% more black voters turned up at the polls. And the caucuses were won in predominately white states — although Iowa got a boost from a couple of bused in barry voters.
Sen Clinton’s bitter bowling alley babes a’totin’ their guns and a’quotin their Bibles and the feminazis and those racist blue collar workers who would “never vote for a black man” and Hispanics won it for barry. Sen Clinton’s demographics. She turned them around after the convention from 58 – 85% all the while barrymedia attacking her motives and terrorizing her for mentioning the blatantly obvious sexism, gyne envy and misogyny.
How can anyone in the barrymedia think they are in any way ethical? Or for that matter even useful?
They are a complete embarrassment to the “profession” – if one still exists. Pulitzer Prize winner Mo Dowd rips off a blogger and Bob Herbert can’t even recognize the Washngton Monument.
The White House press corps doesn’t bother to ask any questions that Gibbs isn’t ready for. And if perchance they ask something meaningful – like how much did the trip to New York cost – Gibbs has no answer other than uh, uh, uh. His face gets red and forehead starts to sweat like it did when he was lying to the willing to be lied to press about why they were flown to Chicago when barry wasn’t even on the plane.
They let Gibbs get away with: “I don’t know, I’m not sure, I haven’t talked to barry about that, I don’t have my notes with me…let me check and I’ll get back to you”.
Does he?
Read or just scan the transcripts of the press briefings. All you need to do is look at three and you’ll see that day after day the press is made a fool of by Gibbs – not because he has this power or because he knows anything – but because the press allows him to. Gibbs very rarely answers the question and when he gets pressed he reverts to sarcasm, I don’t think The American People…”, sarcasm and frat boy faces. I don’t know what press briefings Wolff is watching but they’re entirely unprofessional. All that’s missing is a kegger, some strippers and strewn pizza crusts.
The headliner:
The Obamas may have the smartest, most finely calibrated press operation in White House history, parceling out scoops (The New York Times), partisan talking points (the Huffington Post), and First Family tidbits (the celebrity mags) to a desperate media. Just don’t ask them to admit it.
It’s not clear who he means by “they”.
Toward the end:
The balance of power has surely shifted—although you won’t get anyone in the White House to say that. Except every day you can read it in press secretary Gibbs’s cockiness and condescension.
And it’s that way because the press is too castrated to say it themselves. And what is the time frame of “has”? It’s been that way almost since the beginning.
And this:
There is too the Obama 30-point advantage—he’s got America eating out of his hand. Gibbs has, at least so far, an easy product to sell. And then there’s the personal insecurity on the part of members of the incredible shrinking press—their days are numbered and they know it.
Yo, Mr Wolffe – barry doesn’t have “America” eating out of his hand. You folks are mesmerized. The folks who are in touch with reality see right through barry and the press is shrinking because “America” knows that they have been corrupted and nothing they write approximates the truth. Why would they pay for fiction when they can find the truth on the internet?
Ok fifteen minutes is enough time wasted.
Time to find out why the “smartest, most finely calibrated press operation in White House history” had to demote the First Lady’s Chief of Staff. I’m sure it’s just Chicago payback for Ms Sher with the help of Valerie Jarrett getting Michelle Obama a job at U of C Medical Center (turning away indigents from the ER so they could make more money) and then getting her a $195,052 raise [$121,910 to $316,962] 2 months after barry was sworn in as senator. I guess since barry couldn’t come through with the $1M earmark for U of C the Mrs had to handle it herself. Just like a former Mayor Daley staffer and daughter of a precinct captain knows how to do.

I found barry's statement about freedom of the press curious. What good is freedom of the press when they have been completely corrupted? When they choose what will be given press and what will be avoided? And when they make it perfectly clear who they want for president and go about making it happen?

Kind of easy to understand how barry got to be president considering Sen Clinton got the same number of votes. And she got much more when voters actually used a voting machine.
So what does it say about Americans that they don't care that they can no longer trust the mainstream media to report facts?
And what does it say when lawyers quote factcheck as proof in actual legal papers submitted and (allegedly) read by the Supreme Court? And that both Judge Surrick and Judge Robertson relied on the the pro-barry press and the internet and Twitter to make their decisions?
Statement by the President in honor of World Press Freedom Day [Emphasis added]
World Press Freedom Day is annually observed on May 3 to remind us all of the vital importance of this core freedom. It is a day in which we celebrate the indispensable role played by journalists in exposing abuses of power, while we sound the alarm about the growing number of journalists silenced by death or jail as they attempt to bring daily news to the public.
When was the last time an American one was in America? And yes the media was indispensable for barry - if not, this statement wouldn't have his name attached to it.
Although World Press Freedom Day has only been celebrated since 1993, its roots run deep in the international community. In 1948, as people across the globe emerged from the horrors of the Second World War, nations saw fit to enshrine in the Universal Declaration on Human Rights the fundamental principle that everyone "has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers."
It's clear that barry followers don't believe this.
....Today, I lend my voice of support and admiration to all those brave men and women of the press who labor to expose truth and enhance accountability around the world. In so doing, I recall the words of Thomas Jefferson: "The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter."

Is there a single journalist in America who has any type of curiosity? Who remembers how to to their job? Who has the integrity to stand up and make barry accountable? Who has the courage to force the government to produce some sort of absolute proof of who barry is and whether he is eligible to be President?

The Senate made the final official electoral count - as expected 365-173. Dick Cheney read as his last VP duty:
Pursuant to the Constitution and laws of the United States, the Senate and House of Representatives are meeting in joint session to verify the certificates and count the votes of the electors of the several states.
barry and biden can now be officially inaugurated on 1-20-09.
I wouldn't count on SCOTUS to do anything to change that - no matter how inclined and no matter the evidence. At this point it is too late - which was the point in the delaying.
From a non-political person, who has never voted and had not been involved in politics of any sort until Jan 08 - the voting process needs to be changed. Each person's vote is not counted the same. The superdelegates decided this election after the DNC Rules Committee decided to hijack the votes in Michigan and give delegates to barry whose name was not on the ballot and therefore not one vote could have been proved to have been cast for him.
Are any Michiganders suing? If so, what would be their recourse?
It was an illegal primary. A vital and (deciding as far as popular vote) deliberation went on behind closed doors. Absolute corruption. You cannot have a process be clean if one element of it is dirty. The primary results will forever be illegal.
Imagine the outrage if Sen Clinton and barry's positions would have been reversed. It would never happen. No way. Period. That alone reflects its illegality and inherent bias. The Double Standard.
Then there are all the other irregularities with ACORN, bused in voters and the choosing of South Carlina and Nevada as the two primaries moved up. And had they been Michigan and New York? It was an intentional intervention that directly affected the outcome. As was the proven to exist proobama media bias.
Should be:
1 - No caucuses. Completely undemocratic and are subject to coercion and intimidation. They are inherently biased toward some demographics - in this case, Sen Clinton's: seniors, shift workers and single moms, which most definitely the outcome as she won only 1/14. And the one she won - Nevada - had many complaints of barry voter intimidation and is presently being litigated. Again - what is the recourse? So what's stopping someone from doing it as long as nothing happens before the general election?
2 - Every state should have a vote in the primaries. The primary vote is more important and the individual's vote means more because they can vote for whomever they want - not just the final choice. Primaries should take place over the period of two weeks or so - no longer.
3 - Superdelegates should be completely abolished. They decided this election. Period. They could have voted for Sen Clinton just as easily as they both got the same amount of votes - actually more people actually pulled the lever for Sen Clinton - that should not be forgotten much the same that Al Gore's vote count. barry won by virtue of caucus states (13/14) only 4 of which were blue. That is not the will of the democrats. A caucus in Idaho should not count the same as a 100K lead in votes in a blue state like Ohio or Pennsylvania. barry did not get the required number of delegates to win. Period.
4 - ID standards should be the same in every state as should the voting machines and procedures.
5 - Both parties should abide by the exact same procedures and rules for nomination.
5 - Independents should be allowed for whomever they want in every state.
6 - Absolute cap on campaign finances. barry broke his promise and was not held accountable. Say what you want - barry bought the election. He outspent McCain massively at the end and McCain could not fight back. (Neither could Sen Clinton.)
Well, that's my two cents.

Roland Burris' connection to blagojevich will be discussed before the Illinois panel while Mr Burris is under oath. He said nothing happened I'm sure it didn't.
BURRIS: "I'm going to tell them exactly what transpired between the governor and I."
Burris did admit to one conversation with Blagojevich before his appointment that was not initiated by him but through blagojevich's lawyer. Blago had to know whether he'd say yes so there had to be at least one. I don't know whether it was on tape. Probably not because it was his lawyer.
Harry Reid said an Illinois Supreme Court ruling in favor of Burris could settle the issue. Wonder what he'll do once they ok it. Wonder if it will before blagojevich is impeached.
CNN's DREW GRIFFIN & SCOTT BRONSTEIN:
Illinois state records show that Burris, who once ran against Blagojevich for the Democratic nomination for governor, and his lobbying firm have contributed more than $20,000 to the governor's political campaigns.
Two years ago, Burris hosted a $1,000-per-plate fundraiser for Blagojevich.
What's more, Burris' consulting firm, Burris & Lebed Consulting, has won nearly $300,000 in state contracts over the past four years.
Finally, the governor's wife, Patti, was hired in September to an $80,000-a-year job with the Chicago Christian Industrial League, where Burris' lobbying partner is a board member.
That pales in comparison to barry's connection with REZKO. Rezko raised him $250 K for barry and barry and the Wood Foundation gave him more than $300K. And barry's wife got a $195,052 raise 2 months after barry was sworn in as US Senator. And then there's barry's lobbyist campaign manager, axelrod and barry contribution from axelrod's client Exelon.

barry to name Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine Chairman of the DNC. Quite the food scrap for someone who was thrown aside because of the polls. Wonder how tightly girded Joe Biden's muzzle and loins are. Howard Dean should be brought to justice for how he handled the primaries and the nomination. It will all come out...in time for barry to pardon him, Nanci Pelosi, Harry Reid and Hot Rod Blagojevich.

Upon the indictment of Gov Blagojevich - FBI Chicago Bureau Chief, Robert Grant:
I got here four years ago. Alot of you were in the audience and asked me the question whether Illinois is the most corrupt state in the United States. I can tell you one thing - if it isn't the most corrupt state in the United States, it's certainly then one helluva competitor.
