No NBC. The Today Show refused unless they were exclusive - they were supposed to be the original interview. I don’t understand the selfishness. Each show the story becomes more complete - especially with the passenger stories. It’s their audience who is going to be angry.

Flight 1549 passenger signs record deal

February 11, 2009

Here's one passenger from flight 1549 that's already hit it big. Emma Sophina, 26, from Australia was on Larry King last night and sang her crashed-inspired song"Send Another Prayer" for the crew.

When interviewed on 1-16 by the NY Daily News' MATT LYSIAK & DAVE GOLDINER she said:

SOPHINA: I needed a holiday and some space to write. I couldn't think of a better place to stop then New York City.

Though that wasn't what she had in mind. On the way down:

I thought, 'OK, I'm going to heaven now.' But then someone said we hit water. I grabbed a life jacket and made my way to the exit. The only way I can describe it is it was an orderly mess. A very orderly mess.

That's her in the yellow life vest below.

God Bless Sully. If it wasn't for the graceful Sully, I wouldn't be here talking to you today. He gave us such a graceful landing under such terrible conditions. He is a real hero. I'm going to write a song about this called, 'My Life in the Bottom of the Hudson River'.

The title clearly didn't stick. From UPI:

SOPHINA: They've given me the gift of life. They've let me go on to pursue my dreams. The song is about the fact that I have new life again.

She was signed by Decca and will follow the wake of Flight 1549's media blitz with appearances on "CBS Early Show," "Good Morning America," "Larry King Live," "Extra" and Fox News Channel...
