Quote of the day: “Did she pay her taxes?”

May 28, 2009

Helen Thomas asked an interesting question at the May 26th press briefing concerning Judge Sotomayor.

HELEN THOMAS: Did she pay her taxes?

MR. GIBBS: Pardon me?

Q Did she pay her taxes?

MR. GIBBS: I have not seen anything on that, Helen.

But several questions later this is what he says.

Q And also, just in terms of the vetting, is the White House confident that tax issues, even though the White House is confident that, you know, any issues that come — that do come up, the White House will defend her fully? But are there tax issues that could –

MR. GIBBS: I think she’s been fully vetted, and we’re confident.

He and barry were both confident with the other tax cheats Tim Geithner, Tom Daschel, Nancy Killefer, Ron Kirk and Kathleen Sebelius as well.

barry whines about the teabaggers

April 29, 2009

Yes another swing state townhall - why didn't he have these when he was a candidate? Well he's still acting like a candidate. Why didn't he have the courage to debate in a townhall setting with then Sen Clinton and/or Sen McCain?

He goes to these places to get his fix of adoration and to complain about his naysayers. It's the one and only thing he is transparent about. When he went to Indiana he whined about Rush Limabugh and Sean Hannity. They must have calmed down because this time it was the teabaggers he went after to get his dig in and laugh from the crowd.

And the familiar barry whine: it's not my fault - it wasn't me - it was here when I moved in - it's Bush's fault.

Arnold Missouri - see CNN video - here's the CNN relevant transcript courtesy of Martina Stewart.

BARRY: I know you've been hearing all these arguments about, oh, 'Obama is just spending crazy.' Well, let me make a point. Number one, we inherited a $1.3 trillion deficit — that wasn't from my — that wasn't me.

...Then he tells them why he's still campaigning - he wants to get his health package through to add to the monstrous debt that was there. What's the next president going to inherit? Morning Joe said that barry's debt is going to be more than all the presidents combined. That's sobering. And yes a great deal of it is going to be his fault - not Bush's.

BARRY: That's why I've said we've got to have health reform this year — to drive down costs and make health care affordable for American families, businesses and for our government.

He doesn't mention FOX as per usual because it was Rick Santelli on CNBC that set off the Teabaggers. The media scoffed at them and here barry is still whining. Gibbs went after Santelli as well. If you can, watch the video to see him dismissively waving his hand when he mentions the teabags. He doesn't get the crowd roar he was expecting. There's nothing funny about trillions of dollars of debt. Who can even conceptualize it?

So, you know, when you see — those of you who are watching certain news channels on which I'm not very popular and you see folks waving tea bags around, let me just remind them that I am happy to have a serious conversation about how we are going to cut our health care costs down over the long term, how we're going to stabilize Social Security.

But let's not play games and pretend that the reason is because of the [$787 billion stimulus bill], because that's just a fraction of the overall problem that we've got.

*Don't Go*: Steele welcome to listen

April 13, 2009

Gov Quinn, with his blago-predicted tax hikes, has given the Chicago Tea Party legitimacy. it's an issue that affects all of us here in Illinois - democrats included. Michael Steele in his infinite panderment - seeing the media picked up on it - wanted to speak at the Tea Party but he got dissed instead. He's welcome...to listen. Does anyone like this guy? Was he given the job so people could hate him and then they could make a change?

"Don't Go" Tea Party organizer, ERIC ODOM's response to RNC Chairman Michael Steele's request to speak (which he subsequently denied): Emphasis added

As I mentioned on the phone the other day, I very much appreciate the fact that Chairman Steele is now finally starting to reach out to the true grassroots side of the free-market movement in America. Unfortunately, it appears that he has only just decided to reach out after realizing how big the movement has gotten and how much media is now involved.

That said, we're still excited to know that Chairman Steele will be in Chicago and we hope, after knowing that he'll be in the city, that he'll stop by and mingle with the Americans who will be rallying on April 15th. This will also present a fantastic time for Chairman Steele to LISTEN to what we have to say and perhaps gather some thoughts on what the RNC needs to be doing moving forward.

With regards to stage time, we respectfully must inform Chairman Steel that RNC officials are welcome to participate in the rally itself, but we prefer to limit stage time to those who are not elected officials, both in Government as well as political parties. This is an opportunity for Americans to speak, and elected officials to listen, not the other way around.

I do hope that Chairman Steele will join us as a regular American in protest of Government spending and extreme taxation.

Robert Gibbs sarcastic remarks re: Rick Santelli

April 13, 2009

This is a partial transcript of Robert Gibbs going off on Rick Santelli the day after Santelli's rant. He does it in his typically rude manner - condescending and sarcastic. It's embarrassing. All he knows how to do is attack any and all barry naysayers. The reporter asks Gibbs a general question "people" and Gibbs focusing on one = Santelli. That is not professional. No one cares, which is why POTUS & FL went overseas and embarrassed the entire country.

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfLeuAopNyI]

obamasecrets

Q -- there really does appear to be some anger out there from people who just don't believe the President when he said that only people who acted responsibly are going to be helped here. How can you assure people that you're going to reward only people, only homeowners who acted responsibly?

MR. GIBBS: Well, let's go through this, because I do think this is very important. And I've watched Mr. Santelli on cable the past 24 hours or so. I'm not entirely sure where Mr. Santelli lives, or in what house he lives, but the American people are struggling every day to meet their mortgage, stay in their job, pay their bills, to send their kids to school, and to hope that they don't get sick or that somebody they care for gets sick and sends them into bankruptcy.

I think we said a few months ago the adage that if it was good for a derivatives trader that it was good for Main Street. I think the verdict is in on that.

Here's what this plan will do: For the very first time, this plan helps those who have acted responsibly, played by the rules, and made their mortgage payments. This will help people who aren't in trouble yet keep from getting in trouble. You can't stay in this program unless you continue to make mortgage payments. That's important for Mr. Santelli and millions of Americans to understand.

Here's what this plan won't do: It won't help somebody trying to flip a house. It won't bail out an investor looking to make a quick buck. It won't help speculators that were betting on a risky market. And it is not going to help a lender who knowingly made a bad loan. And it is not going to help -- as the President said in Phoenix, it is not going to help somebody who has long ago known they were in a house they couldn't afford. That's why the President was very clear in saying this was not going to stop every person's home from being foreclosed.

But Mr. Santelli has argued, I think quite wrongly, that this plan won't help everyone. This plan will help, by the money that's invested in Freddie and Fannie -- will drive down mortgage rates for millions of Americans.

That's not what I heard. I heard that everyone is getting stuck covering a subset of people - people who were irresponsible. Folks who do not need help will be paying back the deficit for decades through no fault of their own. They are not being helped. Nor are the folks who don't have mortgages.

The President in his speech was very clear in saying that every American with a mortgage payment should call their lender and see if they can refinance right now. This plan helps people that have been playing by the rules but can't get refinancing, get that refinancing so their home doesn't become foreclosed on.

And Mr. Santelli might also know that if you live in a home that's near one that's been foreclosed, your home value has likely dropped about 9 percent, which for the average home is about $20,000.

Listen to how he says this. This is what he is saying on the video. Truly professional.

Now, every day when I come out here, I spend a little time reading, studying on the issues, asking people who are smarter than I am questions about those issues. I would encourage him to read the President's plan and understand that it will help millions of people, many of whom he knows. I'd be more than happy to have him come here and read it. I'd be happy to buy him a cup of coffee -- decaf. (Laughter.)
Chuck.

Q I want to sort of follow up on the criticism that --

MR. GIBBS: Let me do this, too. This is a copy of the President's home affordability plan. It's available on the White House web site, and I would encourage him: download it, hit print, and begin to read it.

Does it get more unprofessional. They talk about transparency but only some of the "plans" and bills make it to the website. It's not either or some it's all. Transparency is not conditional. Ofuscate once - transparency impossible.

Q The criticism that's coming on the housing plan is similar to the criticism that came on the bank bailout vote before you came into office and in Phase II, which is there are people who were irresponsible who will be helped -- period. It's going -- that is a fact, that is going to be -- that is going to be -- people are going to use that to say this is not fair. So what do you -- how do you -- you know, how do you justify that? I mean, how do you --

Just wait and it eventually seeps out if pressed = the truth.

MR. GIBBS: Well, look, there is -- there will be people that made bad decisions that, in some ways, will get help. This plan, though, I think it's important for the American people to understand, was designed to help those that have been responsible.

As the President has said, if your neighbor's house is on fire or if several houses are on fire, you don't debate it; you get a hose and try to put the fire out. That's what's most important. This plan will stop the spread of those foreclosures because it addresses those that are -- that potentially could be in trouble but aren't there yet, get the help they need so that the foreclosure sign doesn't go up on their front yard.

But I also think it's tremendously important that for people who rant on cable television to be responsible and understand what it is they're talking about. I feel assured that Mr. Santelli doesn't know what he's talking about
.

Rant on cable TV? What about his best buds Chris Matthews, Herr Olbermann, David Schuster and Rachel Maddow? And then there's Cafferty, King, Roland Martin...

Tax Day Tea Party Revolution evolution

April 13, 2009

Mr Jack Livitsky - here you go. I had to dig deep into the archive drafts to find everything. The Tax Day Tea Party movement sprang out of Rick Santelli’s spontaneous (yes) rant from the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange on CNBC’s Squawk Box. It’s hysterical and got a lot of play. And like everything else - media attention => grassroots action - in this case for good reason. According to a Rasmussen Poll 55% of the American People at that time thought barry’s plan was rewarding bad behavior.

barrymedia of course morphed it into a personal attack on barry and went after Santelli, which of course stoked Santelli and generic anti-barry fans. Chris Matthews had Santelli on and had to ask him who he voted for and then compared him to Limbaugh and Hannity. Robert Gibbs the White House Spokesman was disrespectful and sarcastic in defense of barry. I’m not sure when they are going to realize that frat boy campaign press handling shows just how inexperienced and arrogant barry and his people are. And the WH press corp is showing how unprofessional they are by allowing it to go on.

The Chicago Tea Party organizers “Don’t Go” said they received a request from RNC Chairman Michael Steele to speak but Eric Odom of Don’t Go said it was a gathering for We The People to speak and that he was welcome to attend and listen. Steele said he never asked to speak and Don’t Go answered back.

The Tea Party encouraged folks to send tea bags to DC, which caused a ruckus in the senate post office because of the loose leafy contents. They wondered why barry’s weed dealers weren’t able to deliver it in person! Although the tea parties are not directly related to barry’s eligibility issue - the tea bags were sweet revenge for the Anthrax quarantine.

Some of those I’ve already posted on - see links below. The rest I’ll post now. Hopefully it answers all your questions. If not, let me know. You can write a comment on any of the posts rather than email, if you like.

Warning: Tea bags, threat to Senate!

April 6, 2009

Ok. Come after me. But I think this is hysterical...as long as they're just tea bags. The clerk at the Supreme Court sent Cort Wrotnowski's papers for Anthrax quarantine rather than file them - hoping the deadline would pass - even though they knew who Wrotnowski was and had been accepting his previous papers. And then there's the thousands of letters sent to SCOTUS to demand they look into barry's birth certificate that have resulted in nothing. Who's been throwing them out? And now teabags. Teabags are getting their attention. Who knew?

Politico got a memo from the Sergeant-at-Arms - who's from Chicago and is familiar with Burris and Blagojevich. I don't know what the law is - if they can do anything if it's just nuisance tea bags.

From GLENN THRUSH: ("Thrush" being an oral infection of the same yeast that causes vaginal infections. Just a curious factoid that came to mind it being Politico and all.)

E-mail from the Sergeant-at Arms' office: Suspicious Characteristics Mailing (Tea Bags)

The Senate Post Office has recently seen an influx of envelopes containing tea bags addressed to Senate offices. The envelopes have been irradiated, x-rayed, opened and tested by the Senate Post Office and have been cleared and deemed safe for delivery. However, it is possible some of the envelopes may have loose tea inside. [ALERT! ALERT!]

If you have any questions or concerns about this mailing, you may contact the United States Capitol Police Threats Assessment Section at 4-1495.

If they're addressed to barry they better check and make sure they're not weed. Ok, arrest me.

FYI: The tea baggers are anti-tax protesters. From Tea Bag Party.org.

DISCLAIMER: Information only - not an endorsement.

To make your objections heard in Washington, simply place a tea bag in an envelope along with a short and polite letter explaining your protest. Send it to your elected representatives in D.C.. You can find your representatives and their addresses by entering your zip code at the congress.gov website. You can also send a similar protest letter and tea bag to President Obama as well as the leaders and key committee chairs in the Senate and House. Ordinary first class mail letter postage will be sufficient. UPDATE: Some people have written in to say that there may be problems with a tea bag getting through security. You may want to just include the tag from the tea bag, an empty tea bag, or print out a picture of the tea bag. Feel free to use the flagged tea bag image on this website if you want.

If you don't have a tea bag handy, and don't want to have to buy a whole box of them, we can help. Send a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope to Tea Bag Protest, P.O. Box 9459, Naperville, IL 60567 and we'll return it to you with a free tea bag inside. If you prefer, you can address the return envelope to your chosen representative in D.C. (along with a signed letter) and we will forward it to them directly.

barry tax cheat #5: Kathleen Sebelius

April 1, 2009

Ok, all together now: new cabinet member = another tax cheat.

The total thus far: 5 tax cheats + 5 cabinet defectors = barry’s superior judgment. Judd Gregg sure was an inspired choice. Played barry like a veteran politician. Wonder how many of his fellow Republicans bought him a drink. Boehner sure looks like he enjoys more than a few mint juleps. He was totally toasty when he talked about the contraceptives and the stimulus package.

And then then there’s Geithner’s four or so defectors - lost count. Maybe barry fired some of them, too. With Geithners approval and confidence ratings, I can see why no one wants to work for him. They probably were waiting for him to be fired - he doesn’t look like a resigner.

And what’s up with Larry Summers? The man looks medically ill. Seriously. I mean in all seriousness - he looks gray and puffy. What kind of diet does he follow?

Ok. Anyway. Gov Kathleen Sebelius his second choice for Health and Human Services - his first being Tom Daschle ($140K). She amended three years of tax returns and ended up paying $7,040 in back taxes and $878 in interest.

Three “unintentional errors”:

  • Unable to find documentation for 3/49 charitable contributions (needed when > $250)
  • Insufficient documentation for business expenses
  • Sold house for less than what they owed on the mortgage and continued to deduct interest from the payments.

What did Howard Dean have going on that he was appointed? Engineering barry’s coronation?

Have to say they are all different “mistakes” and “errors”. How many other people in barry’s administration owe back taxes? He claims transparency - he should allow and audit of all them and truly outrage the nation, especially after firing Chrysler’s GM and not Bank of America’s or Citigroup’s.

obamessiah needs adoration fix - heads to Leno

March 18, 2009

barry needs his fix. He still hasn't assimilated that he won and is now meant to actually work for those American People he has always talked about but never to. He has plans to do town-hall style meetings in Orange County - how rough is it there? - and downtown LA. Should be at a battered/sexual abuse shelter for women and children. Wherever it is - folks better not be preselected sycophants with glazed eyes and no need of solutions. They should be people the Secret service need to frisk - angry Americans wanting real answers - who will force barry to appear like he has a grasp, without Old Faithful Telepromptor.

And I sure hope someone asks him about Nadya Suleman and her drain on society.

I'd pay to hear that.

His (public) adoration culminates in a Jay Leno appearance - first for an encumbant president.

barry's sole goal seems to want to be the "first" whatever. That way he can't be compared to anyone - just dead presidents who actually did something other than talk.

Whether he has scheduled arugula-fueled pitstops to pander to rich, high profile folks - maybe in the LGBT community to chat prop 8 and pad his pockets - is unknown. He's due to make another bitter people speech to tax cheats with illegal alien maids and fleets of gas guzzlers, who hand out bottled water to guests in their massive air-conditioned mansions decorated with rare rainforest wood and child labor made oriental rugs, while bemoaning povery and the myth that is global warming.

Tea-sipper Madame Secretary Clinton has been to Asia, the MiddleEast, Europe and soon South America while barry goes to swing states, Canada (while Paliament is out), California and Home Sweet Home, Chicago. Every single time he comes here, he raises our tax burden and never mentions that we have the highest murder rate in the country or the epidemic of Chicago Public School shootings.

Blagojevich: See…I told you so

March 17, 2009

New governor Pat Quinn is set to raise taxes tomorrow…just like impeached governor Rod Blagojevich said he would. Blago’s press release from PR NEWS CHANNEL:

BLAGOJEVICH: This is exactly what I said was going to happen. It is unconscionable that the new governor, Pat Quinn, wants to raise the income tax by 50% especially at a time when people are hurting and the economy is in shambles.

When Pat Quinn and I ran as a ticket we promised the people not to raise their income taxes. For six years I kept that promise. It took him less than six weeks to break it.

barry: “I have more than enough to do without having to worry the financial system”

March 13, 2009

Seems our president is getting to busy to handle the economy. He also is having trouble answering questions…nothing new. Ever hear barry say yes or no? Or is it always the equivocating aka obamanating?

The other day he was asked if he was a socialist and he did not answer the question. He never said *no* or yes I guess. And it so occupied his mind he had to call the reporter later, saying at first he didn’t think the question was for real.

Now how can he possibly think that would fly? Biden said the same thing in his interview with Barbara West - but he said it right away and then answered the question.

Weren’t they asked it after Joe the Plumber came up? Haven’t they been asked it since then? Haven’t the blogs been abuzz with it for months? His botlets are everywhere, sure they have been commenting on the blogs and getting back to their master.

Anyway barry is continuing it wasn’t my fault…it was here when I got here…the economy is going to get much worse…I wish I didn’t have to handle it…where in the heck is this Hope! he stumped on? And who did he expect to implement the Change! he talked about?

jumbodude35

The transcript provided by the Washington Times’ Senior Political Analyst, JOSEPH CURL.

The original question and answer not on the video audio.

Q: Are you a socialist as some people have suggested?

BARRY: You know, let’s take a look at the budget – the answer would be no.

There was not a yes or no - just no in reference to something else. Just like he dodged the question about Hillary Clinton for VP “Well, she would be on anybody’s short list” - but not his.

Q: Is there anything wrong with saying, ‘Yes’?”

Again, no answer - look at my actions…Thing is his actions rarely match up with his words.

Let’s just take a look at what we’ve done…If you look on the revenue side what we’re proposing, what we’re looking at is essentially to go back to the tax rates that existed during the 1990s when, as I recall, rich people were doing very well. In fact everybody was doing very well. . . . We said that we’d give a tax cut to 95 percent of working Americans. That’s exactly what we have done.

This tax has yet to be realized. And then came his call recorded above.

BARRY: Just one thing I was thinking about as I was getting on the copter. Cuz it was hard for me to believe that you were entirely serious about that socialist question.

I did think it might be useful to point out that it wasn’t under me that we started buying a whole bunch of shares of banks. It wasn’t on my watch. And it wasn’t on my watch that we passed a massive new entitlement -– the prescription drug plan — without a source of funding.

And so I think it’s important just to note when you start hearing folks throw these words around that we’ve actually been operating in a way that has been entirely consistent with free-market principles and that some of the same folks who are throwing the word ’socialist’ around can’t say the same.

Q: So whose watch are we talking about here, sir?

A non answer.

BARRY: Well, I just think it’s clear by the time we got here, there already had been an enormous infusion of taxpayer money into the financial system.

And the thing I constantly try to emphasize to people if that coming in, the market was doing fine, nobody would be happier than me to stay out of it.

I have more than enough to do without having to worry the financial system.

And the fact that we’ve had to take these extraordinary measures and intervene is not an indication of my ideological preference, but an indication of the degree to which lax regulation and extravagant risk taking has precipitated a crisis.

I think that covers it.

It’s not his fault and but he refused to say whose fault it is or whether he’s a socialist.

So why the call?

Him protesting a bit too much?

Cabinet defector #5: Charles Freeman

March 10, 2009

So how many nominees of barry’s have quit?

(1-4) Governor Bill Richardson for Commerce Secretary:

Under federal investigation for pay-to-play like blago - donors for state jobs routed through his own charities. Unable to be cleared by the FBI for confirmation.

How was he going to be president? Why was he allowed to run? The DNC knew - so why was he allowed to run? To dilute the field in Iowa to give barry a chance for his bused in Chicagoans to win the caucus for him. Same thing as adulterer John Edwards…who has finally admitted it is his baby.

(2-3) Tom Daschle for Secretary of Health and Human Services:

$128K unpaid taxes, reportedly made $5.2M off the industry he would be charged to clean up. His wife is also a serious lobbyist.

(2-3) Nancy Killefer for first ever Chief Performance Officer :

$946.69 in unemployment-compensation taxes for her household help. At least there no illegal immigration problems like Tim Geithner’s.

(2-13) Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH) for Commerce Secretary #2

"I have found that on issues such as the stimulus package and the census, there are irresolvable conflicts for me. Prior to accepting this post, we had discussed these and other potential differences, but unfortunately we did not adequately focus on these concerns. We are functioning from a different set of views on many critical items of policy."

(3-10) Charles Freeman for National Intelligence Council Chief:

CNN: The former Pentagon official and diplomat had faced criticism from both Republicans and Democrats on the Senate Intelligence Committee over his lack of intelligence experience, and some prior headline-grabbing remarks, particularly with regard to Israel. He also drew controversy over a statement that he believed the Chinese government did not crack down quickly enough on pro-democracy demonstrators in Tiananment [sic] Square in 1989.

And who sailed through no problem?

Yep. Madame Secretary Hillary Clinton

Mr President: Change! was not meant to include your positions

March 4, 2009

…or was it?

Everything you have said is a lie.

Iraq - you had a chance to stick to your campaign promise but you didn’t.

No lobbyists - except for you.

No corruption - except for your tax cheats and illegal alien harborers.

No earmarks - except for your 9000 ($8 BILLION) of them in the bill.

5 days online before bills pass - except the first time…and the second…

Bipartisanship - didn’t even try on your first chance.

How is this anything other than the same old Washington?

Clearly, words don’t matter.

And please stop with the transparency nonsense.

The only thing transparent is your deception and ineptitude.

Gulp down some of your messianic ego and talk with Mr Bill. You are way out of your league and panel after panel of experts is not going to masque it.

Dr Sanjay Gupta will not be Surgeon General

March 5, 2009

His decision doesn’t seem to have anything to do with taxes (Geithner, Daschle, Killefer, Kirk) or pay to play (Richardson) or illegal aliens (Geithner) or other barry personnel problems.

Dr Gupta, a practicing neurosurgeon, as well as CNN personality, said it came down to his family - his wife is about to give birth to their third daughter - and his practice. He said it had nothing to do with money. If he took the job, his surgical career would essentially be over. He also works at a county hospital.

GUPTA: This is more about my family and my surgical career.

I think, for me, it really came down to a sense of timing more than anything else. I just didn’t feel I should do that now.

barry's cabinet goes free and Phelps' friends go to jail

February 3, 2009

Whereas Micheal Phelps admitted to his mistake - these crimes were not admitted to until those guilty were forced to admit to them because they were seeking top positions in the United States government. Positions they were appointed to by the President of the United States who claims to have "superior judgment" as his basis to be president.

Apppointed by a man claiming transparency, who has fought and is still fighting the release of his medical, school and birth records.

Appointed by a man who has said on multiple occasions that no lobbyists will work for him and then promptly made exceptions. Not to mention David Axelrod, who was working as a lobbyist while he was running barry's campaign.

Appointed by a man who has admitted - the President of the United States - to not only smoking marijuana but to also using cocaine on multiple occasions.

words don't matter?

Clearly they do not. And he has no actions to judge related to his words.

Let's start with barry's cabinet.

TIM GEITHNER: barry: "common mistake" Geithner "careless mistake"

  • Appointed to Secretary of the Treasury, ergo head of the IRS.
  • Ex head of the New York Federal Reserve Bank - while Madoff was making off.
  • Multiple year tax evader.
  • $34 thousand dollars
  • Initially blamed it on Turbo Tax - financial wizard??
  • Signed a document saying he was aware of the problem.
  • Did not rectify his taxes even after he was made aware.
  • Did not pay taxes while working for the International Monetary Fund.
  • Did not rectify his taxes while he was working at NY Federal Reserve Bank
  • Did not rectify his taxes even after he was audited.
  • Did not rectify his taxes until after he was appointed.
  • Did not announce the problem until Senate Confirmation hearings.
  • Had an illegal alien working for him.

TOM DASCHLE: barry: "serious mistake"

DASCHLE: "Make no mistake, tax cheaters cheat us all, and the IRS should enforce our laws to the letter."

  • Appointed as Head of Health and Human Services.
  • Tax evader. And what will the IRS do to him?
  • $140 thousand dollars.
  • Sid not rectify his taxes even though he was found out in June.
  • Did not rectify his taxes until after he was nominated.
  • Did not announce the "mistake" until confirmation hearing.
  • Gave "speeches" for health care interests.
  • Reportedly made $5.2 million dollars in two years.
  • Is not considered a lobbyist because he was not "registered as a lobbyist."
  • Wife is a lobbyist.

barry obama: "boneheaded mistake"

  • President of the United States
  • Ex US Senator, IL Senator and lawyer (not credentialed at present).
  • Admitted to using cocaine and smoking marijuana - most likely via a bong.
  • Sponsored illegal alien auntie 9 years ago.
  • Although responsible for her - he allegedly lost track of her.
  • Allowed his illegal alien auntie to go to his inauguration.
  • Allowed her to not be taken into custody.
  • Allowed her to leave Washington afterward.
  • Allowed her to not be investigated for fraudulent government benefits.
  • Allowed her to remain and not be deported.

BARRY: If she is violating laws those laws have to be obeyed. We're a nation of laws. Obviously that doesn't lessen my concern for her, I haven't been able to be in touch with her. But, it, uh, I'm a strong believer you have to obey the law. WHO?

"words don't matter"

Barry spokesman, Robert Gibbs: the president does not believe it undercuts their ability to move forward on an agenda that matters to The American People.

Barry: [on Daschle]

Take 1: Does he still stand by Daschle? "Absolutely!"

"words don't matter"

Take 2: it was a serious mistake, one that he caught and remedied. We still think that he is the best person to do health care reform.

"words don't matter"

Take 3: Tom made a mistake, which he has openly acknowledged. He has not excused it, nor do I. But that mistake, and this decision, cannot diminish the many contributions Tom has made to this country, from his years in the military to his decades of public service. Now we must move forward, with our plan to lift this economy and put people back to work.

"words don't matter"

Take 4: I think I screwed up. And, I take responsibility for it and we're going to make sure we fix it so it doesn't happen again.

"words don't matter"

Clearly not. And now the proobamedia is starting to realize how they've been played.

Dear Mr President:

February 8, 2009

The only task force you need to get the economy going is a tax task force to do an audit on every member of your administration followed by every member of Congress. It seems that is the only way they feel compelled to pay taxes. The American People might then take you seriously...for once. We don't know what a TARP is or a trillion dollars but we know how far $140K goes and we for sure know how much money we could save by not paying our taxes.

Why should any of us when the head of the New York Federal Reserve Bank and now head of the IRS doesn't?

And what does it say about your stump promise to root out corruption in Washington when you did nothing to root out corruption when you were Senator of Illinois? When you and you foul-mouthed Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel happily helped to get Milorad get elected in the first place?

We the People of Illinois will now have to pay for an impeachment trial and all the craziness with Roland Burris when your fellow democrats refused to seat a legal appointment out of political spite and embarrassment. How much did your interview by the Feds and the interview of your top advisors cost us? And the cost of Rezko's solitary confinement? Was it to get him to talk about blago or to keep him from talking about your connections to him? How much will Milorad's criminal trial cost us?

How much are these multitudes of task forces put together to "study" things you should already know yourself costing taxpayers? Things that had you actually earned your job you could handle on your own. Things that had you had a history of making a stand -- or at least once making an unambiguous statement and then standing behind it -- you would feel confident about handling yourself.

You are a hypocrite. Your inadequacy is already showing. You may have had the highest approval rating going in...will you have the fastest drop as well?

People voted for you for some reason - try to do something as in ACTION.

Here is a hint: stay in your Oval Office for a day and pretend you know what to do. Stay out of the public eye, out of camera range and please stop the goddam speeches that are as empty now as they were on the stump.

I would remind you that when you speak now - people actually expect you to do what you say or at least have a notion of how to do it without 12 people standing behind you.

And, finally, running to read to kids "to get out of the White House" after 20-some days is not exactly building confidence - consumer or otherwise.

It was Turbo Tax not me

January 22, 2009

Financial wizard and Secretary of the Treasury (IRS) nominee, Tm Geithner, tries to blame Turbo Tax for his "common mistakes". He is testifying as the present Head of the New York Federal Reserve Bank and pretends he doesn't know how to file taxes. The scary thought is what if it is true?

tryindep

He has a strange accent.

barry statement re: Tom Daschle

February 3, 2009

barry's statement on Tom Daschle:

This morning, Tom Daschle asked me to withdraw his nomination for Secretary of Health and Human Services. I accept his decision with sadness and regret.

Tom Daschle has devoted his life to public service and health care reform, so that every American has access to health care they can afford. I had hoped that he could bring this passion and expertise to bear to finally achieve that goal, which is so essential to the progress of our economy and the well-being of businesses and families across our nation.

Tom made a mistake, which he has openly acknowledged. He has not excused it, nor do I.

But that mistake, and this decision, cannot diminish the many contributions Tom has made to this country, from his years in the military to his decades of public service.

Now we must move forward, with our plan to lift this economy and put people back to work.
