Statement of President Barack Obama on Military Commissions

Military commissions have a long tradition in the United States. They are appropriate for trying enemies who violate the laws of war, provided that they are properly structured and administered. In the past, I have supported the use of military commissions as one avenue to try detainees, in addition to prosecution in Article III courts. In 2006, I voted in favor of the use of military commissions. But I objected strongly to the Military Commissions Act that was drafted by the Bush Administration and passed by Congress because it failed to establish a legitimate legal framework and undermined our capability to ensure swift and certain justice against those detainees that we were holding at the time. Indeed, the system of Military Commissions at Guantanamo Bay had only succeeded in prosecuting three suspected terrorists in more than seven years.

Today, the Department of Defense will be seeking additional continuances in several pending military commission proceedings. We will seek more time to allow us time to reform the military commission process. The Secretary of Defense will notify the Congress of several changes to the rules governing the commissions.

The rule changes will ensure that:

• First, statements that have been obtained from detainees using cruel, inhuman and degrading interrogation methods will no longer be admitted as evidence at trial.

• Second, the use of hearsay will be limited, so that the burden will no longer be on the party who objects to hearsay to disprove its reliability.

• Third, the accused will have greater latitude in selecting their counsel.

• Fourth, basic protections will be provided for those who refuse to testify.
  

• And fifth, military commission judges may establish the jurisdiction of their own courts.

These reforms will begin to restore the Commissions as a legitimate forum for prosecution, while bringing them in line with the rule of law. In addition, we will work with the Congress on additional reforms that will permit commissions to prosecute terrorists effectively and be an avenue, along with federal prosecutions in Article III courts, for administering justice. This is the best way to protect our country, while upholding our deeply held values.

Dear Mr President -

Is that who you see yourself as - the President of the United States - or a candidate without an opponent?

We all know that the only thing you are capable of is stumping and working the media. We all know how few days you worked in the senate and we have already seen how averse you are to staying in your workplace - it is clear you are not even interested in on the job training. The first thing you do when something comes up is head to Hollywood or swing states or Hyde Park.

Do you even realize you have a job?

Do you realize you are expected to actually do something every single day that has nothing to do with adoration? That it really isn’t about you?

Are you aware of how many people, who were once drunk with blindness, are waking up and realizing you have not a clue?

How stupid do you think The American People are?

We know exactly what you are doing: You are trying to outdo every other president’s first 100 days in pushing through your agenda without a lick of that sunlight you promised.

What promise have you kept since you ascended to office?

Name one.

Guantanamo Bay does not matter - you know that - we all know that order meant nothing.

How many people read the fine print loopholes in that?

A complete and utter fairy tale start to finish. and what did you do to President Clinton? What evil words and accusations of racism did you spew, oh Mr Mighty Transcender of Race?

What you did to the Clintons - painting them as racists - will never be forgiven or forgotten by lifelong Democrats - the ones who are starting to sour to your spineless wavering.

Do you realize how many lies you have told all the while using the words “transparent” and “accountable”?

Was the stimulus bill online for five days of sunlight? It was not an emergency bill because you found time to go home, chill out for Valentine’s Day and then sign it four days later to much fanfare in a swing state.

You can’t possible think we take you seriously, can you?

Your “advisors” are playing campaign games with a radio host, who does not hold elected office, and you are doing so because he has the nerve to say something about your teleprompter, your cluelessness and your many gaffes. And the fact that he makes $50M/year and has a huge radio following - all of whom seem to have the audacity to distrust you and your $9.3 trillion dollar plans - really pisses you off, doesn’t it?

You learned nothing going after Lou Dobbs and Fox, did you?

Whenever your campaign - you aren’t even close to having an administration - starts distracting with your nasty campaign tactics, it’s because you have no idea what you’re doing and want to reach out to The American People. All well and good. Just be prepared when they reach out for your head.

Chill SS and racist protectors - it’s figurative. Though why is it black folks forget barry is just as much European as her is African and that he is a descendant of slave owners?

Your first escape from the White House (besides the photo op school children, who may not be there next year without the vouchers), you went to talk to “folks who are hurting in Indiana” and proceeded to complain about Hannity.

Do you even see your selfishness? Your egomania?

Your unconnectedness with real Americans?

You want for nothing. You even have a cool jacket with an Air Force One patch on it. Congratulations. Perhaps you might consider giving it to the kids, who are going to need to “go shopping for winter coats” in March.

Your wife and children want for nothing - except the puppy that took precedence over the economy and took the place of your admission that you knew about the bonuses.

Are you ever going to tell the truth?

Are you even capable of it?

Folks do not want to hear about you - they want to hear what you can do for them. They are waiting for you to make good on your promises of change! and all they see is the same old Washington shove it in a bill, deny it, and come clean–sorta–when you get caught.

You can’t possibly believe we take you seriously, can you?

You are going to cut our lobbyists - except in your administration.

You are going to bring the combats troop home in 16 months!

You won the nomination on that lie and now it’s 19 months with 30-50K “non combat troops”. What, they won’t be equipped with guns? They won’t respond in an attack? Anyone in a country where we are fighting is a potential combat troop. The truth is you are following the agreement Bush made.

You are going to cut down on pork projects - except for the 9000 earmarks.

As Johnny Mac screams: “You cannot be serious!”

You are going to cut down on government spending - after the gazillion trillion budget passes.

Do you realize you are putting the future liquidity of the United States on the line just so you can pass your agenda? Just so you can make you r place in history?

Don’t worry - you made your place in presidential history just by running - and not because you are biracial.

How can you be so greedy?

How can you look in your fellow citizen’s eyes and lie, lie, lie, lie…to them?

Have you no soul?

You saw how angry they were with AIG - even as you were “stunned” - how are they going to react when they find out you are not qualified to be president?

And in your ignorance and egomania - did you really believe you would be able to hide it?

One month, one year, one decade - however long it takes - your daughters are the ones who are going to suffer.

How could you?

How could your wife?

And you two hold yourself up as the paragon of parenthood.

The American People are waiting for you to become a president - whether or not you are qualified - whether or not you are eligible.

They want someone who can do more than read the teleprompter message of the day.

Your speechwriters have a better grasp of the situation than you do.

Why not skip your video email and have your speechwriters send out bullet emails to your digital attention-spanned twitterers to spam and harass those in touch with reality?

I don’t think you’ve quite reached the promised moment when the earth and tide and moon rose up and you singlehandedly saved the world!!!

It seems that righteous wind at your back forces you out of your place of employment and reach of reporters when you get called out on your lies.

The cheering in the crowds has become robotic. They elected you and want to hear more than your stump lines and how the problems were there before you got there.

What did you expect?

Why did you want to become president?

To feed your own ego?

Did you not realize that these problems awaited you and that you were responsible to fix them?

Did you not realize that you would have to act without waiting for the polls to influence your decision?

That you wouldn’t be able to rely on “I agree with Senator Clinton” or “John’s right”?

Real easy to criticize what President Bush et al did wrong but not so easy to fix, eh? And we can already see how you held up under one not even tough question from Ed Henry.

There cannot be a single American, who deep down in their heart, believes you are capable of making a decision of global import in 30 seconds.

And that is frightening - terrifying - and right it should be.

Isn’t there a presidential manual somewhere that they could upload onto the teleprompter or download into your ipod?

It’s time to stop the whining and become the president.

Learn how to govern - get some advice from your pal Blago if you have to.

Stay in Washington where the press can hammer you.

Truly be accountable and transparent.

Truly implement that Change!

Everything you have done this far had been about you.

Do you think people come to hear you whine about FOX - again?

If you want to know what presidential bearing looks like - watch some footage of your unqualified tea-sipper of a Secretary of State, who has visited more than 43% of the countries on Earth (including two more continents more than you), handle her state visits. Watch how the heads of state Madame Secretary deals with treat her respectfully as an equal and not with glazed eyes, an open-mouthed gaga and a pat on the back.

She is the only one in your administration who has been out working and accomplishing things and that fact is not lost on the world stage - nor on her ardent supporters - the ones who have already had enough of your waffling.

They are angry - rightfully so - that you have yet to talk about the oppressed and mutilated women and children in the Arab world. If that is not included in your pandering arab world I feel you because I lived in arab countries speech, it will not ever be forgiven. It is reprehensible that you said nothing in your Inauguration speech nor you first presidential interview to arab TV.

As an American citizen - you embarrass me.

No, it has nothing to do with the fact that you lied when you said you were “stunned” about the bonuses.

No, it has nothing to do with the fact you have not - and steadfastly refuse - to prove your constitutional eligibility to hold the office and continue to lie about transparency! and accountability!

It has to do with how you are allowing the military - folks who have voluntarily chosen to risk their lives for your children - to be divided on your constitutional eligibility to be Commander in Chief.

How can you do that to our nation’s bravest citizens?

How can you send them into battle - some to certain death - without easing their minds?

There is no greater evil for a commander in chief.

You ask them to give up their lives - their wholeness - their futures and you can’t even assure them that following your orders is in keeping with their oath to defend The Constitution.

How can you look them in the eye? Even be in their presence?

And you can go on your adoration tour, but you can’t find the time to make a public statement about your unbelievably disgusting comment mocking God’s special souls and their loving families?

That alone says who you really are - a coward who thinks he can do no wrong.

And it reflects on who the Kennedys have become - a silent mass, without integrity, kowtowing to a man they know nothing about. They gambled their legacy by backing you and Tim Shriver is already disgusted - but spineless. He went on TV to apologize for you and ask for a “teaching moment”. How does a teaching moment come about when the person who instigated doesn’t even apologize to prove he learned something?

Charles Babington: barry "avoids confrontation where possible"

It seems CHARLES BABINGTON has just had an epiphany. He writes about barry:

Barack Obama is emerging as a president who avoids confrontation where possible, yields ground strategically and prefers the soft sell to the hard.

Anyone wonder where Mr Babington has been the last two years, or for that matter all of barry's life? barry is called the obamanator for a reason - political expedient non-actions, well chosen words that don't answer the question and end with The American People...

And what happened when barry was pressed by Ed Henry? You got to see the real barry there.

When the issue of boycotting the opening ceremonies in Beijing arose, barry said Congress should decide...why he was fond of *present* and *I pushed the wrong button*.

And this:

In negotiations, he assumes a bend-but-don't-break posture. He will compromise on certain details when necessary but not on the heart of his main proposals.

Was Babington not following the primaries? barry's lead up to the Convention all the way to election day? One acronym: FISA.

So sayeth the obamerized Harry Reid:

It was vintage Obama. He made us all feel content and inspired by where we need to go.

...by saying nothing of substance, proposing nothing concrete, leaving the decision to someone else and then watching the polls before making a move - if in fact makes one - and having somebody ready to throw under the bus. How content was Reid about Burris? Burris who didn't bother with Blagojevich and bought the seat right off barry in a classic pay to play. And no one seems to care to investigate.

And to cap it off:

For now, Obama's style of patient listening and gentle prodding is getting rave reviews from congressional Democrats.

He listens because he doesn't know the issues well enough to discuss them, he thinks people should speak to him, he prods others make the decision, and in the end he goes with political expediency. His entire career has been this way.

Why are they just noticing it now?

Steve Chapman: “Why I Miss Bill Clinton”

I was looking for a graph on Real Clear Politics and found an interesting article by STEVE CHAPMAN: “Why I Miss Bill Clinton”.

Seems barry himself has developed a new respect for Mr Bill the racist - mentioning some of the things he did in a positive light instead of diminishing them to beat his sipping tea with Ambassadors Secretary of State wife.

Here’s the first few paragraphs:

If Barack Obama achieves nothing else in his presidency, he may do something that once seemed impossible: give a lot of people who aren’t crazy about his party a new respect for Bill Clinton.

Clinton, for all his appetites and excesses, was a cautious, centrist sort of Democrat. He had innumerable ideas for things the government could do, but most were small and fairly innocuous. He was willing to go along with Republicans on some of their sound ideas — such as balancing the budget, reforming the welfare system and expanding foreign trade.

He focused on making government better, not making it bigger. He didn’t greatly enlarge Washington’s role in our lives. He proclaimed — or conceded — that the “era of big government is over.”

But Clinton never foresaw Obama. From the sound of his budget speech last week, the new president hopes the era of big government is just beginning….

More words from CHAPMAN in reference to barry’s politically expedient decisions on Iraq. I honestly cannot understand how anyone believed a word barry said about Iraq. His “superior judgment” in speaking out “during a hotly contested Senate race” [lie] was never once born out in action. Judgment cannot be assessed on words not followed by action. Feb 2007 he said he’d have the combat troops home by March 2008. Hello. And what are 30-50K troops if they’re not combat troops?

Here’s the first paragraph of CHAPMAN’s 3-1 article: “Obama Retreats on Iraq Withdrawal“.

A sound, if cynical, policy for elections is to never vote for a candidate whose policies match your own. Since politicians often renege on their promises, you are better off voting for a candidate who says he’ll do the opposite of what you want — and trusting that he’s a liar.

Truth:

Without his stance against the war, he would not have won the Democratic nomination and he would not have won the election.

Well this is going to save a lot of bloggers a lot of work. Might even put some out of work. Politifact has put together a "Obameter" to keep track of barry's promises and whether he keeps them. They compiled 500. And they've got a handy little RSS to keep up to date. Maybe we'll add it.

It's a cheat sheet for barry because he's made so many and so many "revisions" and "refinements" he probably can't remember where he ended up. I've got a post on FISA somewhere I have to find. Famous last (?) words: X will never happen when I am president!

barama matthews, Michelle Bernard and Buchanan are sitting around like gladiators waiting to see the show. Chuckie T is all aglow because barry called on him and called on him by name. C'mon - he knows everyone at MSNBC. He has also (for the first time I have heard) - mentioned barry's obamanating. He called it wiggle room. Before is was "redefining his position". But now Chuckie's upset because it's happening to him. Why do these people think barry thinks anyone is special other than himself?

CHUCKIE T: He is very adept at this - at leaving himself plenty of outs. He doesn't seem very often shut doors. It's tough, of course, when you only get four questions to try to and shut off a door as a question.

barama then asked him about Gaza and whether chuckie got something out of barry in terms of his questioning.

CHUCKIE T: Not enough. I'll be honest...he used one president at a time, but it's still in contradiction to what he's doing with the economy. And he tried to explain the difference between the economy and Gaza....But then is his silence delaying the cease fire because the parties at the table are saying, well it sounds like obama has his own opinions, let's wait till he's in office...

In this case, I think barry's silence was prescripted. I believe the US is using this transition to their advantage to not have a set plan forcing the arab world and Europe to handle something alone for a change. Anyway barama has to open his big mouth though I wasn't expecting this.

BARAMA: Chief White House correspondent for NBC News, Chuck Todd, who just lost his virginity, I think it's fair to say out there. I love the fact you're out there one on one with the president.

CHUCKIE T: You know, Chris, you just did a You Tube moment [or a quote of the day] You're killing me. You're killing me with that You Tube moment. I think Jon Stewart just got his clip for the night.

I'll have to go look to see if Chuckie was right...

Atheists against Rick Warren

barry has pist off the sect of non-believers with his pick of Rick Warren...and Rev Lowery. The self-proclaimed Grand Uniter has angered a lot of folks in his attempt to pander to the Evangelicals and now it's atheists. I wonder what their other political activism entails. Prayer in schools? Taking "In God We Trust" off those dollar bills barry absolutely resembles? Removing "One nation under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance? Banning the Ten Commandments from Courthouses?

barry's does nothing unless it is politically expedient. He can name it transcending race, post partisanship, team of rivals, Change! and whatever else - it always comes back to one thing: political expedience. What can barry do to get by without having to make an actual declaration that will result in personal consequences. It will be interesting what he does on January 21st when he realizes that he can't hide behind anyone and that he will be the "one president at a time".

He is trying to make history before he has actually done anything. He spent his campaign on documentary worthy presidential recreations. Now he's setting up his 2012 run. Have to applaud his foresight. He had his campaign strategy mapped out in his 1996 book.

Thing is - his pick of Warren has highlighted how little say the LGBT community has and how folks continue to disregard their concerns of being prejudiced against. And if it were interracial marriage? This election has proven that racism is the only prejudice that matters and barry used his race-baiting to perfection - most notably in the primaries. If his race was not about race he doesn't win. Period.

Black politicians less gifted than Harold (Washington Chicago's 1st mayor) discovered what white politicians had known for a very long time: that race-baiting could make up for a host of limitations. Younger leaders, eager to make a name for themselves, upped the ante, peddling conspiracy theories all over how the Koreans were funding the Klan, Jewish doctors were injecting black babies with AIDS. [sound familiar?] It was a shortcut to fame, if not always fortune; like sex or violence on TV, black rage always found a ready market....Blacks had no real power to act on the occasional slips into anti-Semitism or Asian-bashing, people would tell me; and anyway, black folks needed a chance to let off a little steam every once in a while - what do you think those folks say about us behind our backs?

Interesting. He has a whole host of limitations starting with the fact that he has never made a unilateral decision of consequence. Look back on all the issues he has changed his position on since February 2007. And prejudice is okay because somebody else is doing it? Didn't work that way in the election. Misogyny and sexism - stop whining. Ageism - punch line. Homophobia - just shut up already.

barry is anything but a uniter. Why did all three of his opponents (and Mr Bill) leave the campaign racists? Were they "letting off a little steam"? And what has he done to unite since he became president-elect? Absolutely nothing except anger more folks - mainly his own base.

Anyway. Eleven non-theist organizations and 29 nontheists led by Micheal Newdow brought suit (12-30) against Chief Justice John Roberts, Sen Dianne Feinstein, Major General Richard J. Rowe Jr., Revs Rick Warren and Joe Lowery. It focuses on the unconstitutionality of "so help me God" as barry's hand rests on Lincoln's Bible. They allege that the use of the Bible during a government ceremony is fundamentally anti-atheist because the Bible condemns nonbelievers.

Rep Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) commenting on whether she was truly considered by Blagojevich. She asked him point blank on November 18th and he said yes. She feels she wasn’t really because:

He never asked me for anything. The conversation didn’t even approach that. Of course, I would never done a quid pro quo [Daley Machine translation = pay to play] of the kind that he was thinking about."

…the kind he was thinking about. Not never - just not his grand delusions. But then again...she was never asked, was she?

Matthews then asked if Blagojevich's wife being in the deal was normal and she said absolutely inappropriate. Then he asked if personal contributions were out of the ordinary? Do you believe this? He thinks some types of pay-to-play are acceptable. Well, they are mandatory to break into Chicago politics. Barry is loyal to Daley. He turns on him and he’s the one going down. Why he's a Soxfan and why he backed the ever-colorful Dorothy Tillman.

Wake up, folks. Do a little research now that the obamerism is wearing off. Look at what barry did to get elected. Why did his opponent, Jack Ryan's divorce records get unsealed just in time for barry to win basically unopposed in his US senate race? The Court ruled they should be unsealed and five days later barry went public and said they shouldn't be used.

Any of this sound familiar? Look what he did in his previous campaigns. The only one he couldn’t finagle was Rep Bobby Rush, former Black Panther member and well-loved Chicagoan. At that point, barry wasn’t considered “black enough” and he "talked too white". Rush 61% barry 30%. Couldn't use the race card either. Explains the spanking. Pres Clinton endorsed Rush, which I'm sure added to barry's lack of character in dealing with him because he was "busy".

Two insightful comments from Rep Rush before it became sacrilegious to tell the truth about barry.

RUSH: Barack Obama went to Harvard and became an educated fool. Barack is a person who read about the civil-rights protests and thinks he knows all about it.

Love that quote. Truth - a rarity. On barry's failed run. CAPS added.

RUSH: He was blinded by his ambition. Obama has never suffered from a lack of believing that he can accomplish whatever it is he decides to try. OBAMA BELIEVES IN OBAMA. And, frankly, that has its good side but it also has its negative side.

barry's own thoughts on having his "rear end handed to him". The Audacity of Hope:

Less than halfway into the campaign, I knew in my bones that I was going to lose. Each morning from that point forward I awoke with a vague sense of dread, realizing that I would have to spend the day smiling and shaking hands and pretending that everything was going according to plan.

And what did barry do? He paid Rush back by running to Hawaii to avoid voting on Rush's gun legislation, which was prompted by the random shooting death of Rush's son. Lost by 5 votes. And then there is his DC Handgun ban flipflop. Watch how he brags on his background in constitutional law.

So why the selective memory as pertains "natural born" citizen? He has known all along he is technically not a "natural born" citizen. He admits on his own website that he is a "native citizen of the United States of America".

How does that make you feel about the self-proclaimed man of judgment, integrity and integrity?

Open your eyes, find a piece of paper, take out pen, pencil or other writing utensil and check off each of barry's missed votes, presents, I pushed the wrong buttons, I didn't know the vote was coming (Iran guard) and massive list flip flops and find one where he actually stood up for something with direct consequences to himself.

I'll save a tree: there aren't any. But you'll have a clear look at barry's REAL political career of political expedient obamanation -- not the proobamedia made-for-TV movie obamessiah version.

It's all there. And the fact that the proobamedia has been shocked by Blagojevich proves (once again) the pro-Obama media bias. They have never once looked at him with a jaundiced eye and some of them are deflecting/directing their anger at barry. It’s their own fault.

Richard Wolffe, Herr Olbermann, Norah O’Donnell and David Gergen are starting to get peeved. Waa-waa-waa instead of O-baaa-ma. Jonjon Alter will never give up the ship. Jake Tapper has been woken up it appears. I haven’t been watching CNN, but I imagine Candy Crowley has dug in like she did with Wright, NAFTA, Rezko and other issues. She's the only the one and only media member on CNN to not be completely corrupted - and how was she rewarded? Convention floor duty, traveling and video feeds from the primary results. Not exactly a great use of her award-winning reporting. I can recall her being on the CNN panel only once - at the end - when there was nowhere else they could rightfully send her.

Now what about Contessa Brewer, Tamron Hall, Norah O’Donnell, Kyra Phillips, Olbermann's fraternal twin, Rachel Maddow and newly self-appointed sexist and misogyny czar, Alma Campbell Brown. Change! "redefined"

I don't know who still believes (or why anyone ever did) this Change! chant. He didn't lay it out until the Convention speech. The pick of Joe Biden should have given it away. He used it as a campaign slogan because what else had he? It took him a while but he finally has an answer to his recycling of Clinton people. He says the Change! will be coming from him. We know. It's all we've seen except it's called a "refining of position".

Wolf Blitzer talked with barry about his top five issues for 2009. CNN's ED HORNICK: (emphasis added)

He was asked to name his top priority from a list of issues, including taxes, health care, education, energy policy and immigration.

1 - "It may be continuing to stabilize the financial system. So that's priority number one — making sure the plumbing works."

2 - Energy independence.

3 - Healthcare reform.

4 - "Making sure we have tax cuts for the middle class as part of a broader tax reform effort." Later: "The tax cut that I talked about may be part of my priority number one because I think that's going to be part of stabilizing the economy as a whole. I think we're going to need a second stimulus. Part of my commitment is to make sure that the stimulus includes a tax cut for 95 percent of working Americans. It may be the first bill I introduce."

5 - Reforming the education system.

Anyone see what's missing? Something that McCains has an edge over? Something Biden has already made a decision on? Something that dictated barry's VP pick? National security. War on terror and the craziness of Iranian Hitler, Kim Jung-il and Putin? Did he simply forget? Or did he leave it out so as not to have to defend Biden's mark my words? barry's fairy tale on Iraq - yes fairy tale - got him the nomination and what has happened since? His "superior judgment" has continued to change with the polls. One cannot claim judgment--superior or otherwise--if one has never acted and been held accountable for ones decision. In fact, his continued use of his Iraq fairy tale reflects extremely poor judgment. "Refining his position" = obamanation. Or as the pro-obama media refers to it: steady, calm, cool temperament...aloof, elite, disdainful of the unwashed nonobamerized masses, egomaniacal shell of a man is more like it.

Colin Powell, the original enthusiast of Iraq, has endorsed barry at the eleventh hour. Why? Anyone know where barry stands on Iraq right this moment? What about Afghanistan -- the reason he "spoke" out against Iraq. Speaking - which did not translate into any type of action - even after he had a vote. How many obamerites, including the pro-obama media, still believe barry had a say? How many obamerites are so well-informed that they know he did nothing to back up his "speech"? How many obamerites know how barry stands on anything? Has there been one thing he has been consistent on his whole political career other than political expedience? Name one thing he has put his neck out for? One thing.

And what about jobs and specifics about foreclosures? What did he actually DO about the bailout except let McCain be "erratic"? "Temperament" = obamanation = inaction = indecisiveness = no clue what he will DO as president because he has never DONE anything. What are the specifics about anything? Classic obamanating "may be". Does anyone know his stand on immigration lately? Has the pro-obama media pressed him on it? Has he ever gone on Lou Dobbs, the last bastion of journalistic integrity?

Barry before his patriotism was challenged. Red screen like McCain's green screen and no teleprompter. He had a little more energy back then.

How many nooses did he see hanging from a tree in Hawaii? Wasn't ever in the south until stumping and the first time he say his mother's birthplace was on a stump.

The president of the United States will believe in the justice and equality for all Americans. And by the way, your next president will actually believe in The Constitution of the United States of America. And will uphold that Constitution. That's why I'm in this race.

I'm in this race because I'm tired of Democrats thinking that the only way to look tough on national security is to act and vote and talk like a George Bush Republican.

Wonder what his VP thinks about this. He didn't seem to care at the 2004 Convention.

True, you didn't have a vote and all your followers don't care enough to ask and when a non-mesmerized tries to tell them they start their personal attacks as a way of endorsing their above the fray candidate.

They won't be able to say I gave George Bush the benefit of a doubt in Iran - because I haven't.

True. You didn't know when the vote was and couldn't make it back from NH. Political expediency all the way. Why change something that has been proven to work?

The won't be able to say that I support the Bush-Chaney policies of not talking to leaders that we don't like - because that's not what I believe in.

True. His beliefs are counted down as politically expedient decisions and no one challenges him on them. He believes in what ever will make him president. And when he is? Nobody knows what he will do - not even him.
