Remember how crazed they were about “blago” and “Chicago Politics”? Chicago politics, I might add, that never included barry – or Mrs Obama, who was schooled in it as a child.
Well, pay to play is alive and well. Huffington Post got barry elected and in doing made their way to the top of the blog ratings. And they did so well, they expanded to Chicago (surprise), New York and Colorado with plans for LA next. The Colorado site goes up in September and the new editor is David Axelrod’s fresh out of college 22 y/o son Ethan. It appears the Colorado site will follow the original: no experience necessary to write barry propaganda and no ethics needed to destroy all of his naysayers – political or private citizens.
Axelrod’s first quote, already a spin of daddy getting him the job:
I’ve been interested in journalism for a while. I heard through my father that they were expanding, so I applied for it.
He reportedly was interviewed along with other candidates. Wonder if they knew they had no chance at getting the job?

Hey PIQUANT. That’s pretty funny. No, Secretary Clinton was not required to put barry’s faux presidential campaign seal [or even the real one] on her sling. It was the State Department Seal and it was used to cover up the logo of the sling manufacturer. I don’t know firsthand how the elbow is doing but if you look here her fingers are not swollen and this pix was from weeks ago (7-7). In her foreign policy speech (7-15), she was gesturing and almost fully extended her elbow but was still not shaking hands. If you have time watch just a minute of that speech and be reminded what presidential bearing looks like and what it means to give a speech – as in having some clue what one is saying instead of just reading off a teleprompter. The substance of the speech is worth hearing as well – the text is there. She also takes unscreened questions without having to have a primetime press conference.
And, yes, I saw that video clip on hardball where she was asked about running for president. Howie and Simon go off like she brought the subject up. The question was from a woman in THAILAND and even she chuckles. I’ll track the video down.

Mayor Daley is not interested in talking about the decriminalization of marijuana.
MAYOR DALEY:
We just had a ban on smoking. People say you can’t smoke, they said, ‘Please don’t smoke.’ And now everyone’s saying, ‘Let’s all smoke marijuana.’ I mean, after a while you wonder where America’s going to.
Not sure how the ordinance the Cook County Board proposed, which would give Sheriff’s police the option to write a $200 ticket for possession of less than 10 grams instead of a misdemeanor arrest, means “Let’s all smoke marijuana”.
DALEY brought up the issue of driving under the influence of marijuana, which is a very different thing.
If someone drives down the expressway, if someone’s driving a cab, if someone’s driving a bus, if someone’s flying a plane. After a while, I mean, where do you go?
The ordinance is about simple possession. No police officer is going to give someone impaired from marijuana a ticket and let them drive off.
TODD STROGER is still playing the I don’t know I haven’t read it yet. To override his veto? 14 commissioners.
Though on WGN this morning he said he “didn’t think it’s such a great idea.”
STROGER: I’m not really an advocate of trying to decriminalize the drug that people start before they move on to the higher stuff.
Not sure if that has been born out. Folks smoke marijuana and never progress to “higher stuff” – interesting choice of words. Some smoke marijuana for medical reasons and some smoke marijuana before during and after they use/d other drugs. And some folks smoke marijuana and never smoke it again like Lou Pinella and hopefully Geovanny Soto.

Look at the picture. It’s perfectly clear what barry is looking at. It hasn’t been photoshopped and it is not an optical illusion.
What you see is the father of two young girls checking out another young (16 ) girl’s posterior. She is a delegate from the J8.
They try to play the video to make it look like barry wasn’t doing exactly what he was. All the video just shows is barry is a lot less obvious than his mini-me mancrush.
What it also shows is that barry’s hold over the media is diminishing.

Well, AP is reporting as recently as 3 hours ago that Ms Boyle will return to the stage tonite in Glasgow. I certainly hope for her sake that her “day of rest” has reinvigorated her so she can give her countrymen what they have been waiting for. How could she “flub some lines” from songs she knows so well and has been singing so frequently? I don’t understand why she is doing this tour at all. Is she legally obligated? Because she doesn’t need the tour to get her career going. More days of rest are just going to fuel more crazy rumors and in the long run affect attendance at her own live shows – provided she has any.
I truly hope that Ms Boyle does indeed have her physician traveling with her and that said physician has only her patient’s best interest at heart. One can’t help but wonder who is actually calling the shots and whether there are too many – however well-intentioned – folks involved. Just think how thrilled she would have been six months ago to be on stage in Glasgow and recall how totally excited she was at her audition there in April. I wonder if the absolute joy of Susan Boyle 1.0 will ever return.
Spokeswoman from earlier today:
“[Ms Boyle]had one rest day, but she will be back on stage tonight,” she said, adding that she expected Boyle to take part in the rest of the tour, which runs until early July.
Why the need to add she is expected to take part in the rest of the tour? So folks buy their tickets? The message yesterday was “following three sensational performances, Susan Boyle has been advised to rest”. What are the chances she will be in need of rest after the next three?
The fallout from yesterday’s missed performance as per the UK Telegraph. Fans in the audience were given the message: “[Ms Boyle] sends her sincere apologies to her fans for not appearing in Manchester.” And then the Britain’s Got More Talent folks played a Susan Boyle video clip highlight reel, which of course was met with boos. And then the audience was offered refunds if they chose not to stay and watch the show.
Pretty clear why that extra little sentence was added. So how are they not still using her to promote BGT…the Tour?
And how did the actual winners – Diversity and the other performers feel when the audience was offered refunds?
How is BGT treating the folks whose futures are actually riding on the BGT Tour? And how is Ms Boyle’s uncertainty and the attention it garners affecting their performances and the joy they should be experiencing?

And on Sunday, at Life’s 11th Annual Young Hollywood Awards in Santa Monica – hosted by Lara Spencer of the Insider – Lambert was named Young Hollywood Artist Of The Year. He was presented his award by Idol judge Kara DioGuardi, which was nice for both of them.

It really is the eye of a needle. British artist WILLARD WIGAN makes these microsculptures aided by a microscope, which are invisible to the naked eye and take months to create…by hand. They don’t go into his exact technique. He started as a child creating houses for ants and then made them hats and shoes. He has dyslexia (he can’t read or write) and said it was a way to escape. Last year he sold 72 pieces to gym millionaire David Lloyd for £11.2million. He’s on tour in the US and will be in Los Angeles, Chicago and Houston.

It would be wise to keep folks interested in her music. Instead of stories of shopping and secondhand whispers of “sources” – I would like to hear her voice and see for myself her mental state. And a photo or two of her siblings and what they do wouldn’t hurt.
If she is truly coming to the White House for the 4th of July, she doesn’t have much time to broaden her fan base and recapture the folks who got turned off by the bad press or whatever else.
Even if she doesn’t sing, it will be her maiden voyage here and she will draw massive media attention. And at the very least, the morning shows would want/expect her to stop by. Interacting with Americans – however anonymously – would help her learn some lingo and help build her confidence.
And even if contractual obligations preclude her from “public” singing and/or downloads – a few lines a day would keep her alive on the internet where it all begsn.

World Net Daily is in the process of leasing billboards that say: “Where’s the Birth Certificate?” It’s their latest cause célèbre to compel barry to produce proof of his eligibility. Their previous campaign was an e-petition that gathered a reported 400K names. A list of which Orly Taitz dropped off in Idaho for Chief Justice Roberts to read – which he said he would do. And a number Robert Gibbs snickered at during his May 27th press briefing when he flat out lied about barry’s birth certificate being “on the internet”. Check out this post to watch Gibbs’ dismissive attitude that one day will be Exhibit A in the Smithsonian.
What I can’t understand is why it took so long to ask if their reporter goes to the press briefings every day. Maybe they explain it somewhere on their site. I don’t go there often because their posts are so hard to read. I have dyslexia and they underline whole sentences as a link and it makes it read as one long word and the second half of posts seem identical to previous ones.
Anyway their focus now is on billboards. A digital one is already up on Highway 165 in Ball, LA and another has been leased along Interstate 5 in Orange County. Standard billboards with the same message are due to go up in PA & CA – locations undisclosed.
Here’s what makes it noteworthy.
CBS owns 550,000 billboards (every state included) and they made a corporate decision to refuse to allow WND to advertise on any of them. Here’s the scope of CBS’ operation from WND’s article:
CBS also owns one of the three major broadcast TV networks and radio networks, an online advertising division, television stations, Showtime and Simon & Schuster, one of the largest book publishers in the world. The billboard division manages $2 billion in annual revenues, according to company statements. It also boasts controlling more billboard space than any other company in North America, with 1,600 employees in more than 50 offices nationwide. It controls billboard space in every major American city.
It’s their right to refuse but it’s the way in which it was reportedly done. As seen through WND’s (unnamed) billboard purchasing agent, who had had no opinion on the message going in:
They (CBS) already knew about this campaign when approached. Being involved in this campaign has not only opened my eyes but has disillusioned my faith in Americans standing up for what’s right and equal in the eyes of our forefathers who wrote the Constitution for this very reason. It has made me feel sad.
Even the local CBS ad exec was shocked at the edict from corporate.
We just received an e-mail from CBS Corporate. They are aware of this campaign and we are not allowed to install it. This came straight from corporate. Sorry!
These are the folks who will be listened to by others. People who were just doing their job thinking nothing of it until they experienced the censorship firsthand. And they should be the ones targeted. They will reach more people in the long run – if done correctly – than the billboards themselves. They can create more buzz than a billboard because they will have their own personal tales to recount. And, most importantly, there will be thousands of corporate memo/emails/phone calls refusing sale in every state – not just a smattering.
If Mr Farah was smart he would send people into as many CBS-controlled billboard agencies as possible in every state – has to be every state – to request space. They’re not going to provide it so the people going in don’t even have to have the money or the real intent – they just have to look the part and above all be courteous and convincing. When they are refused (they should be undramatically surprised) they should just shake their heads and say something like ‘what has our country become’ and walk out.
The people in those offices who were told not to let lease the billboard will be believed. They will tell people what they personally experienced. How Big Brother affected their lives. It will suddenly become a personal reality — not some internet rumor by vindictive racist sore losers and crazies.
If done correctly, this could be the absolute proof and inciting factor that turns the tide across the whole country. Because regular people – The American People – including barry voters – in local communities will witness firsthand the Big Brother censorship barrynaysayers have seen for the last two years. And they will see it as pertains their own businesses, commuities and lives. People whose jobs depend on the 550, 000 CBS-controlled billboards – on the revenue and commissions – are going to be pist when business is turned away that otherwise might have paid for granny’s medicine or junior’s tuition or the husband’s psychiatrist or simply paid for food, rent and gas.
From the places listed as potential sites — Houston, Dallas, Sacramento, San Francisco, Seattle — it looks like they are targeting big cities. I think that is a big mistake and a big waste of limited funds. The big city media are already well-practiced at ignoring “birthers” and the birth certificate issue. Those people are not going to risk their jobs reporting on it. They need surgical strikes on/in smaller markets. Look up interstate areas in the US that are highly traveled. Get the truckers, truckstops and RV Parks involved. AAA keeps records. They should also look into moving advertising. Lease advertising on the side panel trucks or even semis. That way they get the small media outlets and public access TV interested and hope it goes viral, which it will if they do it right.
One thing they got absolutely right was not connecting any name to the sign. Besides avoiding legal issues, there’s nothing better than curiosity. And the folks going in — much better than a phone call or email because there’s eye contact and a physical reality of the situation as fellow Americans – should never once mention barry’s name or the purpose of the sign. It should be a matter of fact I’m just doing my job to feed my kids sort of transaction – especially in the CBS-controlled sites. There shouldn’t be an all out assault or debate about evidence or anything else. A head shake and a look will go a lot farther than a tsk and an angry discussion.
And, if they take more pictures of the billboard to post on their website, they should have people standing around looking up at them. It says a lot more than a generic billboard with the the state route location and “Where’s the birth certificate?”. It says people are getting together and wondering and talking about where the birth certificate is and why they haven’t seen it. It shows the message doing its job.

He is always looking forward – in this case, reelection – when he hasn’t even started to govern. And it’s because he doesn’t know how – just like he didn’t know how to legislate and never would have made it to the US Senate without Emil Jones sending legislation his way.
How many swing states has he been to? As the polls shift, so does barry’s position. What hasn’t he changed his mind on? Abortion? And if Judge Sotomayor is a real Catholic, as in pro-life?
She is just as good as him at hiding her personal beliefs. After all the years she has spent on the bench nobody knows her views. He was actually going for a twofer – a bog box and a little box: women and Hispanics. But if it turns out she is pro-life, which I would bet she is, it’s going to be the last strike for the Hillary people. And it would be just rewards for NARAL’s gassy-eyed Ms Keenan.
The only group barry hasn’t bothered to pander – and has actively dissed – is the LBGT community because there is no pay off. They aren’t about to vote Republican – so by not pandering he’s trying to capture some of the Bible belt.
Tisch is right. barry’s true political genious has nothing to do with all that lofty not based in reality messiah complex ramblings about Change! and team of rivals and shifting the oceans I will never lie to you because I am The One we’ve been waiting for telepromptering. It has to do with how he gets away with saying it and not doing it. I still can’t figure out if folks – including the barrymedia – don’t care or if they are really that ignorant.
Don’t look at barry’s words – they mean absolutely nothing. Just like his ridiculous fairy tale on Iraq that folks bought at face value when his actions did not in anyway follow his politically expedient “speech”. When it came to action – when he finally had to act and set a timetable – it wasn’t at all like he promised (and won the nomination on). He ended up basically following Bush’s timetable. And it’s the same as FISA, military tribunals, release of torture photographs and will be with Guantanamo Bay.
If you really want to know what barry will do – look at the polls and figure out what would reap the biggest political reward and then put your money down. If you need proof – look back on his “refining of policy positions” throughout the primaries, before the convention, the general election, the transition and since he has become president and compare his words and actions. It’s all right there.

Will County coroner set to do autopsy at 9:30 this morning on the unidentified remains from on the bank of the Des Plaines River yesterday.
According to CBS 2 News, the remains were found approximately 2 pm and that they consisted “mainly of bones”, “weighed no more than 30lbs” and appeared to be a “small female wearing underwear”.
Concern of course centers around whether the body could be Lisa Stebic, who disappeared on April 30, 2007 – last seen by husband Craig.
Stacy Peterson was reported missing on October 28, 2007 by husband Drew, who maintains the young mother of two young children ran off with another man. Peterson’s stepbrother Thomas Morphey maintains he helped Peterson move a “warm” blue plastic barrel out of the Peterson home and that he is concerned it might have contained Stacy’s body. A blue plastic barrel was found floating in the water on the 17th approx 1 mile downstream from the remains. Other blue barrels have been found as well and lead to nothing.
They also report that Peterson attorney Joel Brodsky was aware and “unconcerned”. Same as he was on April 29th when he said Drew Peterson would never be indicted in relation to Kathleen Savio’s death.

Congratulations to the Swedish duo Henrik Stenson and Fanny Sunesson for winning the THE PLAYERS Championship.
Instead of just being that dude in his skivvies hitting a golf ball and the lady caddie getting a free peek - folks now know that he can play and she can caddie. Though the post with him hitting the ball in his white, as yet un-mud-smudged boxer briefs, has been quite popular - especially in the last 4 days.
Stenson commented on his little bit of undie fame after his win.
Q. Are you surprised what a big deal the incident at Doral became, and will this push that into the background?
HENRIK STENSON: Well, I mean, yeah, I was surprised. I thought I was going to see the picture a few times and get a few nice comments and so on, but you guys turned it into a worldwide thing. It was just flying everywhere, 143 articles when I Googled it. It was just everywhere. A lot of publicity for the game obviously, a lot of publicity for me, and I managed to get a few new fans, which is nice. I guess I got as much attention off that thing as from my results the last ten years. That's the way it felt like.
Yeah, I mean, this is obviously going to be the latest thing on the resumé.
Q. Did you hear from the TOUR off the thing at Doral?
HENRIK STENSON: No, I did not.
Q. Any consideration to strip down and jump into the lake for old time's sake?

Q. Talk about walking in with your caddie and the impact that she's had on your game.
HENRIK STENSON: Yeah, I mean, I've been very lucky to have Fanny around for the last two and a half years now. As I said, we kind of pulled her out of retirement. It's just been a great journey. We've had some great wins together and she's a great support. We have good fun on the golf course. I think it helps that we can both speak Swedish and nobody else knows what we're talking about. We can just go there and speak, and we're all safe. No, we just have a great time, and obviously with her experience being out there for 20-odd years and winning some great championships with some great players, I know that she's spot-on with everything she does. I couldn't have a caddie that's more prepared than she is when we tee off.

barry made a “surprise” appearance at the daily briefing to announce that Justice Souter had called hism to officially announce his retirement.
MR. GIBBS: Yes. And –
THE PRESIDENT: Hey. I’m sorry, but Gibbs is screwing this thing up. You know, there’s a job to do — please, everybody, have a seat. There’s a job to do, you got to do it yourself. (Laughter.)
MR. GIBBS: See you guys later. Have a good weekend. (Laughter.)
THE PRESIDENT: This is kind of cool.
MR. GIBBS: It’s way cooler than it seems. (Laughter.)
THE PRESIDENT: Yes. Absolutely.
The reason I’m interrupting Robert is not because he’s not doing a good job — he’s doing an unbelievable job….
Then he read a prepared statement that happened awfully quick for “just got off the phone”.
THE PRESIDENT: …And with that, I would like you to give Robert a tough time again. (Laughter.)
And then something worth laughter. After barry left a someone asked Gibbs if he know barry was coming and Gibbs had a truly funny response. I think it reveals how pist Gibbs was when barry took over his playground and all the kids wanted to play with him instead.
Q Did you know he was coming?
MR. GIBBS: Did I know he was coming? No, I didn’t know he was coming.
No, we would have put a fancy seal up and everything.
Highlighting barry’s need to have that sign in front of him whenever he speaks. And of course this ridiculousness.

Drew Peterson, 55, is presently being held in the Will County Adult Detention Facility in Joliet. He will have a 1;30 hearing tomorrow at the Will County Court House. Bail set at $20M.
