I find it surprising they actually aired Leno without any editing. If was MSNBC there would have been technical difficulties like Rachel Maddow had last night with Lt Dan Choi and Don’t ask Don’t Tell.

Here’s barry’s spokesman’s first attempt at “apology” from Air Force 1:

The President made an offhand remark making fun of his own bowling that was in no way intended to disparage the Special Olympics. He thinks that the Special Olympics are a wonderful program that gives an opportunity to shine to people with disabilities from around the world.

Offhand remark?

Yo barry - what about nappy headed hos?

Yo media - he insulted special souls, who are as God created them, and you remain silent?

What is it going to take?

It was not a “gaffe”.

It was a disgusting degrading indefensible comment that was said and meant as delivered.

It is not a slip of the tongue when it’s followed by laughter and meant to induce laughter.

Even for barry this is a new low.

Bill Burton: the best barry liar of all

Matthews is talking to the absolute best liar I have seen from any party all election cycle - Bill Burton. The key to reading him is a quick blink - he anticipates the question. He talks out of the side of his mouth - literally - and is a very fast thinker even up against hardball - thought hardball hasn't even come close to going after fellow obamerites....yet.

Burton would be best taken on blindsided from behind like slapping him on the back and asking him something where he can't read your face. It's almost like he grew up with a deaf family member.

The key is to keep questioning Burton and little bits keep coming out until he decides to settle on something. Surprisingly, Matthews kept at him and finally got him to admit something about barry's aunt - see update.

Matthews is wondering why barry keeps saying it's gonna get dirty in the last few days...they're gonna say things...watch out. Yeah, he's priming them for whatever the republicans have finally dug up. He knows what's out there. They all do. And when McCain or someone brings it up it will be oh their picking on waa-waa-waa oh-baaa-ma. They seem to have forgotten barry will have to go up against a non-obamerized press corps and they can't be whining then.

I predict howie fineman will be the first to turn - alter never.


barama matthews: about McCain and wright

he's been sort of a mood ring.
he's refused to play the race card with wright.
there has been a lot of disagreement.
i think McCain deserved the Nobel Peace Prize for not going with wright.

But that didn't stop him from hammering away at Se McCain just so barry could win. And everyone seems to forget that barry himself said wright was a legitimate campaign issue.

He’s a Soxfan and no way they would be pulling for a National League team.

BARRY: I have said from the beginning that I'm a unity candidate...bringing people together. So when you see a White Sox fan showing love for the Rays, and the Rays showing some love back, you know we're on to something right here.

Congratulations to the Rays - they're just outstanding people. I was going to cut my hair in a Mohawk, in solidarity. But my political advisers said they weren't sure how that was going to play with swing voters.

And that’s always the bottom line with barry.

BILL BURTON: He said nice things about the members of the team who came to support him today, but that doesn't change his feelings about the fact that they bounced his White Sox out of the playoffs.He's a unity candidate and it is going to be a great series.

By the time this campaign is over "unity" will be a synonym for political expedience and pandering.
