O’Donnell: “We get more endowed in bed”

July 29, 2009

I started watching MSNBC again since they started full force after the birthers. I had truly forgotten what sexist pigs they have on and how “Mommy” and Tamron Hall sit there and say nothing. Larry O’Donnell, who professed his love for Sarah Palin after seeing her on SNL, now finds her mentally deficient. [She didn't acknowledge him at SNL.] He and Barnicle are pigs. And Donny Deutsch(bag)’s in the sty next to them. I watched only one segment with him and he tackled both Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton in relation to Maureen Dowd’s blog post, which compared the two. Wonder whose blog she’s ripped off lately? She was on Willie’s new show this morning and Larry has a 6th grade job about her. Sorta what goes around comes around.

MIKA in reference to Larry. (Shattner, totally blotto, performed Palin’s farewell address as poetry. Whatever Shattner has – he’s got too. [Laughs]

BARNICLE: He’s been up all night.

Larry looks like it. Why does he seem to be growing more hair?

GEIST: Crazy Larry’s out today.

LARRY: You know what? I saw my first early, early morning with Willie Geist or whatever his name is.

GEIST: It’s “Way too Early”, pal.

LARRY: This is what I didn’t know. I’m telling you – this is how you promo this show. The promo of the show is: “We get more endowed in bed.”

Barnicle looks at Geist – they’re sitting right up next to each other as usual. Willie Geist would make a lovely transvestite, wouldn’t he?

LARRY: I didn’t know you did that on this show. I would have set my alarm if I knew….

MOMMY: Wow.

GEIST: I’m not going to go there, Lawrence. I was grateful that Maureen [Dowd] was kind enough to come on the show this morning.

Mommy laughs.

GEIST: Let’s go to weather, Mika. How about that?

Willie wants folks to come on his show.

LARRY: It was Maureen’s first use of her bedroom voice on national TV.

MOMMY: Ooooooooh. We’re gonna play a little of that later.

ODONNELL: Please play more.

GEIST: Can we have him removed from the set?

MOMMY: I’m serious. It’s nine minutes past the hour.

BARNICLE: Where’s security?

GESIT We’re on TV right now, do you know that?

BARNICLE: Louis!

MOMMY: Seriously.

BARNICLE: Get Louis over here to have Lawrence taken out off the set!

GESIT: Clear the set.

MOMMY: Alright. Lawrence? [Clears her voice.] We’re gonna go to weather now, thank you. [Makes face]

BILL the weatherman: Wow.

MOMMY: Yeah.

Sends it upstairs to the weatherman.

BILL: Lawrence is making the rest of us look like choirboys. I like this. This is good. Like I’m sane.

***

It was not blurted. It was fully intentional. He says it later as well. And he sits there smirking in to the camera.

Not exactly sure how she meant this.

After the weather segment, Mommy says: Let’s get beyond the Gates story. [Somewhat under her breath looking at Larry.] I don’t know what Lawrence might say.

BARNICLE: Talk fast.

Quote of the day: “Why don’t you just say you love him”

May 12, 2009

Morning Joe. Mika is running the show with bosom buddies Mike Barnicle and Willie Geist. Politico’s Mike Allen is on giving the morning whatever. They get around to mentioning the White House Poetry Slam tonite.

GEIST: What makes a poetry slam rather than a poetry reading?

MIKA: Mike Allen might know.

ALLEN: You know, it’s a fine distinction from a poetry jam…but I think if the president’s there, whatever it is, it’s cool.

MIKA: Wow. Why don’t you just say you love him?

Quote of the Day: "I jog to clear my head and keep love in my heart."

December 18, 2008

Morning Joe

BLAGO: I jog to clear my head and keep love in my heart.

JOE: Willie, just for the record, what do you do to keep love in your heart?

WILLIE: I can't discuss that on national television.

JOE: Oh.

WILLIE: We'll get into that later.

MIKA: It's just - I'm uncomfortable.

I wonder what the off-air conversation was. Mika seemed to have a specific idea of what Willie does.

Quote of the day: "Ever get slapped at quarter past six in the morning?"

December 5, 2008
Morning Joe

Willie comments on how much money barry raised: $104 MILLION for a total of $750 MILLION. Mika brings up Karl Rove's article in yesterday's WSJ about how barry basically bought the election. He did. It's just dawning on them? Think of how he outspent Sen Clinton and how close they were. He won 13/14 caucuses and she won the big states even though he was outspending her sometimes 5:1 like in PA and she still beat him by 10 pts. Now ask yourself how much of the financial advantage in the primaries was actually from foreign cash? That's another batch of lawsuit happening. Wonder how many lawsuits have been filed against barry and his campaign? I'll try to find that info in the drafts - I don't think I've posted that yet.

MIKA: You could argue he bought the election.
BARNICLE: He raised it. It's not cheating.
WILLIE shifts to Red Sox fans complain the Yankees buy the World Series.
BARNICLE (Bostonian): Ever get slapped at quarter past six in the morning?
MIKA: Do it! Do it!
He didn't...on camera.

And then barry's biggest lie (as concerns this topic) that has gotten very little press and as above wasn't mentioned is his fund raising was in fact against the rules...the rules of integrity and a signature. barry agreed to go with public financing and then reneged. Loud and clear unequivocal no doubt about it he admitted to it and it cannot be shoved under the rug or spun so it's not brought up. Just a general whoa each time more money pours in.

If there is anyone who does not believe that barry's race was an ADVANTAGE in this election then I hope you live another year because by then the books will have been written - especially by black folks like Shelby Steele - to prove it in black and white.

They haven't been covering it up - they're plain ignorant

December 5, 2008
Morning Joe

Mika actually mentioned that the Supreme Court is meeting to decide whether to hear Donofrio's lawsuit.

[He is suing New Jersey Secretary of State, Nina Wells, alleging that barry was ineligible to be on the ballot because he is not a natural born US citizen. The particulars being in 1961 Kenya was under UK law which barry sr conferred on barry - citizenship being passed down by the father. He also cites barry surrendering whatever US citizenship he had when he lived and went to school in Indonesia because there was no dual citizenship then. Once surrendered, he was no longer considered a natural born citizen and thus ineligible to become president.]

Why isn't the first hurdle in running for president handing over proof that one is a natural born US citizen? These election proceedings have to be completely revamped and standardized between parties and the first thing that needs to go are the caucuses. barry proved that.

BARNICLE: Who filed that lawsuit?

MIKA Oh, come on! Yeah. I know.

BARNICLE: It makes no sense.

MIKA: I'll find out for you, though.

BARNICLE: Stop. Just stop!

MIKA: Some people don't know what to do with their time.

BARNICLE: Stop it.

MIKA: Really.

BARNICLE: Everyone complains how backlogged the courts are.

MIKA: Oh. She sighs. It's a mess!

BARNICLE: And they're entertaining the case. (Puts his hands up palms out like enough already.) Please.

MIKA laughs: That kind of stuff makes you mad. I can understand.

Every single day they sit there and read the papers and yet they have never heard of the lawsuit taking place in their backyard. And even as she reads it she has no idea what it's about but "she'll find out" - which she never did.

So I finally got my answer - they aren't covering it up or ignoring it - they aren't aware because it hasn't been covered in the proobamedia, which it appears they confine themselves to. One google search would have enlightened them. This is the first time I have heard it mentioned in the MSM other than NBC5 here in Chicago - which has no choice because of the open letters to barry in the Tribune.

Now we wait to see what (nothing) comes of it and what the creative reason is this time. Can't see it topping the Anthrax quarantine.

Zinger of the day: "Got your vacation plans set?!"

December 1, 2008
Morning Joe
News You Can't Use

Willie's talking about a study naming the Most Promiscuous Countries. As it turns out UK is #1 followed by Germany, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Australia and then the US. UK? Teeth in the light of day...

MIKA: What? This is all not good.

MARK HALPERIN (He is a homely sort, isn't he? Like a friend invited over to fill a place at the table or a card game.): News Mika can't stomach.

Then Joe asks for the top three and after Willie answers Mika says: Got your vacations plans set?!

BUCHANAN jumps in: He's got his tour lined up!

MIKA: Can't believe it's Joe raising the bar on this conversation!

She occasionally gets a zinger in - albeit in a parallel conversation - while they talk over her. I find this show entertaining because of how Mika gets played and day after day she lets them. Does her husband find this funny, too?

Quote of the day: "Wow, he must be a man. Whoo-hoo!"

December 1, 2008
Morning Joe

The morning read through the papers, which is supposed to be Mika's segment. Once again she gets talked over and made fun of and once again she giggles and goes on. She holds the WSJ upside down showing the above the fold story on India – which is anything but funny - and reads about a Latvian man taken in for questioning for commenting on the Latvian economy .

JOE to Chris the producer: Could you please have somebody tomorrow morning teach Mommy how to do the papers?

Chris laughs.

MIKA: (Seriously) This is what gets my husband really mad when I hold up the papers wrong.

JOE: If she’s holding up half of a newspaper and reading…

MIKA: I was excited about the article. (She smiles holding up the headline on India.) I can’t do both things at once.

Joe takes over and holds up his paper.

MIKA: Oh, you and your highlighted. Look how steady his hand is. Wow, he must be a man. Whoo-hoo! Mmm.

JOE holds up another paper. Online retailers very concerned--notice how I’m doing that Mika.

MIKA: Yeah. You’re so talented.

JOE: I’m not reading stories on the back while…(Wiggles the paper mocking her.)

MIKA: Sighs, smiles. “You’re an idiot.”

Joe and Willie talk about college football as Mika sits there with her hands crossed, shaking her head. She’s pissed when her news segments get preempted. (See "interrupting cow"). She opens her mouth and then looks off to the left as the music starts. She literally bites her lip and hmms. Shakes her head and looks the other way and Willie and Joe talk on. “OK. (Tsks) Can we please look at the Philadelphia Inquirer real quick and then the St Petersburg Times?"

JOE: Ok. Do it right Mika. Hope it’s a full screen.

MIKA: There – I’m holding it up for you Joe. (fake giggle) It’s very still.

WILLIE: Virtually.

JOE: Reading Doonesbury on the back.

MIKA: Oh, be quiet!

I'm fascinated by their dynamic and how Mika gets belittled and pushed aside during her segments. Today it's clear she gets it and it angers her - but what does she do? Stay mum. You'd think she'd speak up since her dad will be on later though she doesn't like to be on set when he's there. Maybe that's why or maybe she's embarrassed she isn't standing up to them or she's hoping he'll rag at them for her.

Quote of the day: "She can think for herself."

November 18, 2008
Morning Joe

An unlikely quote from the unlikeliest media outlets.

Mika, barnicle and Willie Geist are discussing Bill's risk to Obama. Whether Bill's activities abroad would jeopardize barry's administration if Senator Clinton were Secretary of State. Finally someone realized that Senator Clinton would be the one in charge and that perhaps Mr Bill's contacts would be a good thing. Something they can't get their mind around because it would mean they would have to leave him alone for a moment.

Mika is a transparent Clinton gossiper. How does she think she got her job? Her looks, her father or her "mommyness"?

MIKA: Why would you waste what potentially the Clintons have to offer in terms of their contacts, their history and their experience both of them being in the White House for eight years?

WILLIE: And also, I think the Bill Clinton criticism assumes that Hillary Clinton will not be able to separate herself from that. In other words, when he takes a million dollars to give a speech in Kuwait -- I don't know what he was paid, I'm just putting that out there - assumes that she will give Kuwait favored status in some regards. She can think for herself.

I guess you listen to their crap long enough a nugget of truth slips out however grudgingly or unknowingly.

Obama as Jesus?

November 13, 2008
Morning Joe
Discussing "News you can't use"

WILLIE GEIST: First I have Jesus on a piece of french toast.

MIKA: Oh, you do not!

WILLIE: Pomapano Beach, Florida...

MIKA: Where is he?

WILLIE:...as if I need to tell you it was Florida.

MIKA: Where, where, where is he?

WILLIE: He's right there - what do you mean where is he?

MIKA: I don't see him!

WILLIE: Right there in the middle. There he is.

MIKA: C'mon, where is he?

WILLIE: Jesus - in a piece of french toast. Very interesting.

MIKA: That's uhm...

SOMEBODY: Getting spiritual messages there.

MIKA:...Barack Obama

WILLIE: Breakfast.

SOMEBODY: Do you smell cinnamon in here?

MIKA: I still don't see it.

And then she giggles about how sexy Tom Brokaw is. She must like his voice or he smells good because it's not translating digitally.

Find Tonya Harding already!

November 3, 2008

Morning Joe's Willie Geist trying to skate. He can't locate New Mexico. All he needs is a pink tutu, sequined stockings and red lipstick.

MARK HALPERIN: "Part Dorothy Hammill - part Bambi"
