Morning Joe
Willie comments on how much money barry raised: $104 MILLION for a total of $750 MILLION. Mika brings up Karl Rove's article in yesterday's WSJ about how barry basically bought the election. He did. It's just dawning on them? Think of how he outspent Sen Clinton and how close they were. He won 13/14 caucuses and she won the big states even though he was outspending her sometimes 5:1 like in PA and she still beat him by 10 pts. Now ask yourself how much of the financial advantage in the primaries was actually from foreign cash? That's another batch of lawsuit happening. Wonder how many lawsuits have been filed against barry and his campaign? I'll try to find that info in the drafts - I don't think I've posted that yet.
MIKA: You could argue he bought the election.
BARNICLE: He raised it. It's not cheating.
WILLIE shifts to Red Sox fans complain the Yankees buy the World Series.
BARNICLE (Bostonian): Ever get slapped at quarter past six in the morning?
MIKA: Do it! Do it!
He didn't...on camera.
And then barry's biggest lie (as concerns this topic) that has gotten very little press and as above wasn't mentioned is his fund raising was in fact against the rules...the rules of integrity and a signature. barry agreed to go with public financing and then reneged. Loud and clear unequivocal no doubt about it he admitted to it and it cannot be shoved under the rug or spun so it's not brought up. Just a general whoa each time more money pours in.
If there is anyone who does not believe that barry's race was an ADVANTAGE in this election then I hope you live another year because by then the books will have been written - especially by black folks like Shelby Steele - to prove it in black and white.

They haven't been covering it up - they're plain ignorant
December 5, 2008
Morning Joe
Mika actually mentioned that the Supreme Court is meeting to decide whether to hear Donofrio's lawsuit.
[He is suing New Jersey Secretary of State, Nina Wells, alleging that barry was ineligible to be on the ballot because he is not a natural born US citizen. The particulars being in 1961 Kenya was under UK law which barry sr conferred on barry - citizenship being passed down by the father. He also cites barry surrendering whatever US citizenship he had when he lived and went to school in Indonesia because there was no dual citizenship then. Once surrendered, he was no longer considered a natural born citizen and thus ineligible to become president.]
Why isn't the first hurdle in running for president handing over proof that one is a natural born US citizen? These election proceedings have to be completely revamped and standardized between parties and the first thing that needs to go are the caucuses. barry proved that.
BARNICLE: Who filed that lawsuit?
MIKA Oh, come on! Yeah. I know.
BARNICLE: It makes no sense.
MIKA: I'll find out for you, though.
BARNICLE: Stop. Just stop!
MIKA: Some people don't know what to do with their time.
BARNICLE: Stop it.
MIKA: Really.
BARNICLE: Everyone complains how backlogged the courts are.
MIKA: Oh. She sighs. It's a mess!
BARNICLE: And they're entertaining the case. (Puts his hands up palms out like enough already.) Please.
MIKA laughs: That kind of stuff makes you mad. I can understand.
Every single day they sit there and read the papers and yet they have never heard of the lawsuit taking place in their backyard. And even as she reads it she has no idea what it's about but "she'll find out" - which she never did.
So I finally got my answer - they aren't covering it up or ignoring it - they aren't aware because it hasn't been covered in the proobamedia, which it appears they confine themselves to. One google search would have enlightened them. This is the first time I have heard it mentioned in the MSM other than NBC5 here in Chicago - which has no choice because of the open letters to barry in the Tribune.
Now we wait to see what (nothing) comes of it and what the creative reason is this time. Can't see it topping the Anthrax quarantine.

Quote of the day: "Interrupting cow"
November 24, 2008
Morning Joe without Joe - Mika's supposed to be in charge
She's doing the news talking about Bush's presidential pardons. He's granted 171 pardons. 1/2 as many as were granted under President Clinton or President Reagan. The boys interrupt "Mommy".
BARNICLE: How does Carly Simon get to the president of the United States to get a pardon for a rapper?
CHUCKIE T: I had alot of anticipation for that.
BARNICLE: Carly Simon and Orrin Hatch put the pressure on the President of the United States to get a pardon for what's his name?
MIKA: OK.
BARNICLE:...a rapper.
GEIST: You'll see.
MIKA: Mike! Mike! Knock, knock.
Geist and Chuckie T laughing. Mika elbows Chuckie.
MIKA: Hold on!
BARNICLE: Who's there?
MIKA: Interrupting cow.
BARNICLE: (Laughing) Interrupting cow?
MIKA: Moo.
.
Geist and Barnicle look at each other like what? and laugh.
She keeps trying to get their attention and then says all perky, "Ok one more story. Can we get through this children? I think we can." Totally dissing them. She is Mommy after all.

Quote of the day: "She can think for herself."
November 18, 2008
Morning Joe
An unlikely quote from the unlikeliest media outlets.
Mika, barnicle and Willie Geist are discussing Bill's risk to Obama. Whether Bill's activities abroad would jeopardize barry's administration if Senator Clinton were Secretary of State. Finally someone realized that Senator Clinton would be the one in charge and that perhaps Mr Bill's contacts would be a good thing. Something they can't get their mind around because it would mean they would have to leave him alone for a moment.
Mika is a transparent Clinton gossiper. How does she think she got her job? Her looks, her father or her "mommyness"?
MIKA: Why would you waste what potentially the Clintons have to offer in terms of their contacts, their history and their experience both of them being in the White House for eight years?
WILLIE: And also, I think the Bill Clinton criticism assumes that Hillary Clinton will not be able to separate herself from that. In other words, when he takes a million dollars to give a speech in Kuwait -- I don't know what he was paid, I'm just putting that out there - assumes that she will give Kuwait favored status in some regards. She can think for herself.
I guess you listen to their crap long enough a nugget of truth slips out however grudgingly or unknowingly.

Gaffe of the day: "Don't go around saying 'Fuck you!'"
November 10, 2008
Morning Joe
Video courtesy of DavidShahin
Scarborough is talking about the foul-mouthed pitbull, Rahm Emanuel, contrasting it with the steady nature of barry's campaign with Axelrod and Gibbs.
JOE: These are good, decent, steady men that don't go around flipping people off or screaming 'Fuck you!'"
They are not good or decent - they are lying frauds. Barnicle's face is priceless. Like he just saw his mother naked. Joe's face gets red so he knows what he said and tries to blame it on Jay Carney.
MIKA: Uhm...uhm....uhm. Honey? She then whispers to Joe what he said while Barnicle rambles on.
Joe says he needs a time out and Mika says: "Come to Mommie!"
Joe then blames it on Ambien and Mika tries to cover. And Joe says his wife is going to kill him and that he needs soap.

Quote of the day: "giving him a big fat wet kiss"
Morning Joe
Mika, Barnicle, Joe, Willie & Tucker Carlson taking about the messiah and his rain gear yesterday and the pix of the front page of the NY Times.
BARNICLE: It looks like a clip from a movie trailer.
JOE: Imagine the NY Times would make him look like a movie star in the closing days of the campaign.
TUCKER: He looks majestic. He has the burden of so much unrealistic hope on shoulders. There’s no way he could possibly live up to it.
Mika looks upset…and guilty.
JOE: The press is setting him up for failure. We’ve talked about how they’ve had schoolgirl and schoolboy crushes on his guy. They have done him a great disservice by giving him a big fat wet kiss over the past 12 months.
Tucker then talks about the fact that the media has a vested interest in his success they’ll look like fools when he fails. “So, because the press has this passionate, not at all platonic, but much froppy love—
JOE: It’s much deeper. It’s HOT. It’s hot love.
TUCKER: It’s hot. It’s way hot. [creepy even for Tucker] Because they have invested so much in Obama, they can’t turn around tomorrow and say ‘oh he’s a schmuck - he’s blown it.’ There’s no way—
JOE: They did it to John McCain.
TUCKER: Yes, but it took eight years. I’m talking about the base. I’m talking the average Starbuck’s baristas who believes he’s going to make the lame walk and blind see and redeem their sins.
Joe laughing hysterically. Mika sips and clutches to her coffee, rocking like a child…she’s one of the barista's...customers.
TUCKER: Seriously they’re going to be upset when the world isn’t perfect on the 5th of November.
MIKA: I hope I can still get my coffee.

Sexist quote of the day: "just a hick from the sticks?"
October 29, 2008
New York Daily News headline: "The Great Palin Debate. Is she a modern role model or just a hick from the sticks?" Original, eh?
Mika: That is just wrong.
Morning Joe: Hard to say. Six of one half dozen of the other.
Mika: I have a complicated view of her.
Joe: (Messes up teleprompter, blushes, embarrassed) I was just thinking of Larry O'Donnell's opinion of Sarah Palin. It's not complicated at all. (smiling)
Mika: (Smiling) Not at all.
Barnicle: What's he say?
Joe (lewd smile): He LIKES her. A LOT.
Mika: Yeah, after seeing her.
Barnicle: He said she was hot.
Joe: I'm not going to say it. That would be sexist.
[Don't have to say anything - your face and the rest - including Mika says it all.]
O'Donnell the lecher (10-24-08): "It (fill in the blank) is one of my ambitions."

Ignorant MSM of the day: "She has been palling around with haberdashers."
Rant alert. I didn't think this was possible. Two weeks left and what are they discussing? How much Sarah Palin has spent on clothing. They don't bother to stop and think that this woman was plucked out of Alaska and had a baby less than six months ago and that just maybe her wardrobe wasn't exactly ready for prime time. Remember when they commented that Cindy McCain's convention outfit was worth $250K or whatever? People actually thought her dress and shoes alone cost that much cost. The dress itself was around 3K - completely reasonable for a high-powered woman executive or the rich white women who attend obama fundraisers or women going to a wedding or even some prom dresses. Don't even try to convince me that Mrs Obama doesn't have or hasn't worn a 3K dress - she has.
Who as looked into the cost of her outfitting? She has over ten pairs of Jimmy Choos, which run about $400 apiece. The rest of Mrs McCain's "outfit" was estimated by the jewelry she was wearing. Jewelry she has had for years - jewelry consistent with a million dollar heiress who made $4M last year with the assumption that the jewelry was authentic. She has made no apology for her wealth and she has done extensive charity work abroad - hands on work - and what has Mrs obama done? NOTHING. Absolutely nothing. When did she get her first passport? Just prior to barry's tour of the world? What kind of first lady is she going to make? She has not traveled anywhere - by herself - or in any official capacity and has no idea of the customs or what's expected of her. And yet she trashed Sen Clinton at every turn and allowed the media to do so so her husband could be anointed. (For the record - he did not win outright - he was coronated by the superdelegates.) She still claps with her mouth wide open and her hands up covering her face. This is barbaric to the cultures of the East. Imagine her lumbering into the Japanese consulate. Gov Palin has already shown she can meet and greet world leaders. Anyone seen Mrs Obama doing the same?
All that aside - here's the lead story of the day on Morning Joe. What is so hypocritical is Mika sits there like she as never had a shopping spree totaling in the thousands. Here's the breakdown from investigative reporter JEANNE CUMMINGS at Politico:
Barnicle: "It's clear she has been palling around with haberdashers." Haberdashers clothe men.
Mika; "I wonder what Hillary Clinton spent."
Mika: "By way of balance, we should point out that what Barack Obama spends on a suit is some family's mortgage payment."
Mika: "She (Palin) ought to be buying her clothes at Wal-Mart."
Mika: "I'm a pill-popping, vodka-drinking housewife - is there something wrong with that?"

Early September Saks Fifth Avenue in St. Louis/New York = $49,425.74. Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis, $75,062.63. RNC also spent $4,716.49 on hair and makeup. Here's how she justifies such inanity:
"The cash expenditures immediately raised questions among campaign finance experts about their legality under the Federal Election Commission's long-standing advisory opinions on using campaign cash to purchase items for personal use."
GOP Tracey Schmitt: "With all the important issues facing the country right now, it's remarkable that we're spending time talking about pantsuits and blouses. It was always the intent that the clothing go to a charitable purpose after the campaign."I thought the economy was Obama's main thrust...before Biden made it National Security. Spending $150K is a way of stimulating it and conserves the paper needed to print 500 stimulus checks.
Barnicle: "It's clear she has been palling around with haberdashers." Haberdashers clothe men.
