Well, the good news is the roof remains attached here at the United Center.
And here is Wayne Messmer’s rendition at the old Chicago Stadium before the start of the 1991 NHL All-Star Game just days after the Gulf War began. The game was televised there LIVE. Some of you may not even have been born yet. Messmer is now the public address announcer for the Cubs and sings the National Anthem for the Chicago Wolves as well.

I find these letters from active duty servicemen important and insightful. I wonder why it is they should have to think about something like this when they already have plenty to worry about - like the safety of their life and limbs and sanity.
What type of Commander in Chief could do this to them? And how can he possibly look them in the eye? That is a special type of evil. Especially when he went to Camp Lejeune to speak about ending Iraq and didn’t even have the human decency - the simple decency of an American - to be present for the prayer or the singing of the National Anthem. That says a great, great deal about who barry is - and even more about who he isn’t - he is not an honorable man. And he disrespected the most honorable Americans there are. I have had enough of his filthiness.

On September 26th, 2005, I swore an oath as part of my willingness to serve this country, during a wartime environment as well. I never once saw Iraq or Afghanistan, because of surgeries that left me in considerable pain. That is neither here, nor there.
I am an active duty Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, stationed aboard Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. I never once forgot my oath, and every day when I boot up my computer, it plays the national anthem, as well as the Marines’ Hymn. I am moved by these two things, as well as a love for the country that I was born in, and grew up in. I remember in my high school I excelled in American history, as well as world history. I can’t remember who said it, but I remember hearing something along these lines: “Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it.”
What we are seeing is another attempt at a socialist nation that could, if pulled off right, rival the Soviet Union. There’s a problem, though. This isn’t a socialist nation in the least. This nation was founded on the belief that you earn what you work for. I have gone days where I work fifteen hours. I’ve worked twenty-four hours before, sometimes thirty-six. I don’t have the luxury of calling in sick the next day. I have to do what I am told, when I am told.
Every enlisted member of the military should be aware and remember that their allegiance is first and foremost to the piece of paper that created this country, and is the law of the land. The Constitution is what we swore to uphold and defend, and if elected officials are unwilling to do so, then the military must be ready to side with the people of this country. Remember your oath, both enlisted and officer. We are here for the people, to defend them from oppression and tyranny. That is your job, and your duty.
This is something that I had wondered about since I saw it go down but I didn't feel it was my place as a civilian to put words into military folks' mouths. When barry went to give his mission accomplished I'm going back on my campaign promise speech in Camp LeJune, he came out after the singing of the National Anthem. It was shocking, really. Like he was a visiting head of state or the king or a dictator. Like he didn't have the time.
What excuse could there have been? Not only did he not honor the flag on a military base where he went specifically to talk to the military he completely disrespected the woman soldier who sang the National Anthem - quite beautifully.
How does anyone think this is ok? There had to be some military in the planning that had to have raised some objections.
This was a slap in the face of every Marine of yesterday, of today and of tomorrow. Obamas actions were that of an idiot or a muslim......definitely not of a President of the United States.

Hi, this is one of many e-mails out of the Camp LeJeune area regarding Obama's recent visit. Most report that the visit was closely orchestrated by Obama's handlers to ensure he got the best photo ops. Here's one typical comment: But my main point would be, why did it tee me off to hear Obama spout out Semper Fi and OooRah! This moron has no right to be trying to sound like he knows what we share!!! I am surprised he did not wear his basketball t-shirt with USMC in bold. The only thing as bad was Kerry "Reporting for duty" with a salute!
Well, the enemy knows our plan now! I would not want to be a civilian contractor in Baghdad in 2010; or an Iraqi anywhere in country who had helped America!

Obama skips National Anthem at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune
Camp LeJeune, NC -- President Barack Obama did NOT come out on stage for the singing of the National Anthem at his Camp LeJeune speech given at 12:00 Noon today.The Marine Band played "Ruffles and Flourishes" but Obama did not come out. The Secretary of Defense, Marine Corps Generals and a Navy Admiral came out. The Marine Corps Chaplain came out and said a Prayer.
A lone female sang the National Anthem and after it was sung, the Marine Band again played "Ruffles and Flourishes," a speaker introduced the President and only then did the Band play "Hail to the Chief" and did President Obama come out.
This struck me as very odd. Why did the President not come out for the prayer? Why did the President not come out for the National Anthem?
This was no mistake. This was a slap in the face by the President, to the entire nation and it did not go unnoticed.
I'm glad it didn't go unnoticed or uncommented on by the military. The press is another matter. I didn't see or hear anything. Each one of those soldiers' lives depend on barry and he acted like some supreme dictator. He should be made to walk back in there and apologize. Right. When pigs with lipstick on fly.

Faith Hill and a Gospel Choir do a spectacular job with America The Beautiful. Don't think she had a problem with an American Idol singer this time. Jennifer Hudson made her first public appearance and gave an incredible rendition of the National Anthem since the brutal murder of her family and she did them proud.
Following Faith Hill's rendition of America The Beautiful, Jennifer Hudson gave an amazing performance of The National Anthem to a huge ovation. First time she has performed since her mother, sister and her nephew were murdered here in Chicago. She took a big breath and then sang her heart out and did them proud.
You are about to take the Oath of Office for a job you have refused to prove you are constitutionally eligible to do.
You are about to deceive the nation and the world while the Founding Fathers and Framers of the Constitution look on.
And most egregious of all, you are about to desecrate President Abraham Lincoln's Bible by putting your hand on it and swearing to uphold the Constitution.
October 15, 2007 The View...before they were obamerized. Watch someone who has command of what she will do. Someone who knew the urgency of the economy and impending financial crisis when she first started running. Barry was still clueless at the end of March. Cult of personality. I didn't vote so I could remain neutral but it's clear to me who was the best candidate of all five. The one that was attacked in every fashion while the Man Above the Fray and Grand Uniter! stood by and let it happen. And the Transcender of Race has stood by and let the nation think all of his opponents, including the last Democratic president, as racists. CSPANJUNKIEdotORG. CLINTON: My attitude is that you get up every day and do the best you can. Some days are better than other days. I do think there still is probably a tougher standard for women, especially running for president. I mean we've all been through it in some way or another. CLINTON: Absolutely. You have to take a strong stance but I think you can be both strong and smart. I think you can be tough and effective. On China for example, we have to figure out how we're going to work with China, but we also can't be patsies. We have allowed them to have much more power over us because we now owe them so much money. Every single day because we've have run these deficits and all this debt, which I think has been very unfortunate because it really weakens our place in the world. So we have to get strong about that. But that means we have to put our own house in order, too.

CLINTON: I've been in 82 countries and I've met with the leaders of a lot of countries that are not exactly in the forefront of giving women their rights. And I have never found that to be a problem. I actually think - assuming I'm so fortunate as to be elected - that sends a very strong message to those countries and to those leaders. You cannot expect to have a successful society if you keep half the population in servitude and deny them their rights and keep them out of education and healthcare and important positions and don't give them the respect, even in the home, that they deserve for the hard work they do. So I actually believe that it may take a little adjustment but it's time the world adjusted. Women deserve to be given our rights and responsibility.

So there he stands, above it all barry the professor before his $150,000 shopping spree for his $1500 suits. Remember folks he was already running to be Commander-in-Chief. How many brave Americans hospitalized in Landstuhl wanted an explanation for this? Is that why he refused to go? His behavior is inexcusable. And 14 months later he is about to become president of the United States. Another example of the Double Standard. Pandering the Pledge of Allegiance before rallies doesn't make up for this. What does Joe the Biden think? Lady and Gentlemen, it's more patriotic to pay taxes than it is for his boss to honor the flag? Any wonder why barry's gonna need help and why a flag pin isn't gonna fix it?
Any wonder why a POW, who was tortured because of that flag, questions the patriotism of the man standing there refusing to honor it? Refusing to honor all the brave men and women who were injured, tortured, maimed or lost their mind and/or lives defending it?
Any wonder why his running mate, who has a teenage son on active duty in Iraq, has questions about barry's patriotism when she sees this picture and then sees Ayers, a man barry passed off as "a guy in the neighborhood", standing on the flag grinning?
The same man who was bombing American buildings and killing American citizens while her running mate was fighting to live. The same man, a domestic terrorist, who remains unrepentant and was so when he held barry's coming out party, when Barry took $200 from him, when barry voluntarily sat on a board with him and even now when barry continues to lie about his relationship with him.
Yes, I can see why they are questioning barry's patriotism. I can see why they would wonder if he would put country first.
Red, white and blue are the only colors that matter in this election but only black and white are mentioned.
March 2008 The description: "Obama video that the McCain aide made and got fired for". I personally see nothing wrong with it - except the black power salute. That wasn't appropriate. Obama not honoring the flag during the National Anthem was 100% intentional, 100% unspinnable and 100% unforgivable and the clip was enough in itself, especially since he did it as a man running to be commander-in-chief. A man who will send brave young men and women into battle--some to a certain death--to defend a flag he couldn't even honor. That image alone reflects the measure of Obama as a man and no flag pin or endorsement by a Secretary of State will change it. The fact is Obama still has not made an independent decisive act that has consequences. - not once in his career has he stood up for something, acted and been held accountable. The first time he will have to do so will be as president.
The rest of the video is fact - everything said by Mr & Mrs Obama, Rev Wright and Malcolm X is right from their own lips. Just imagine if these were things Mr & Mrs McCain had said/done and the people they were affiliated with. It is irrefutable proof that Obama is getting a pass because he is black. That is not to say he is not qualified. It means simply that Obama has/is not held to the same standard as white candidates. That he never would have made it to Iowa if his resume was attached to white and/or female skin. That he wouldn't have survived Wright - a pastor he said brought him to Christianity and listened to for 20 years - if he had been Senator Clinton or McCain. Period. End of story. And yet racist White America will be the reason he lost. How is this a victory for America? What does it say about affirmative action, white guilt and sexism in America?
