Matthews: “The reason I brought this up is the guy who shot at the Holocaust Museum”

Matthews vs Rep Campbell re: Rep Posey’s bill (video)
Axelrod re: birth certificate issue “silly” & “trite” (video)
Matthews, Dee Dee Myers & Blankley re: birthers (video)

Chris Matthews with Rudy Giuliani chatting on Hardball. Out comes the “issue d’jour” which has been going on for a year. Right away barama shows he has no grasp on the legal – Constitutional – aspect of the issue – which has no emotional or fringian aspect to it. He says “native born” not natural born. It would be one thing if they had control of the facts but they aren’t even close. They don’t even know what the “birthers” want. And wanting the man who claims transparency to be transparent–to just keep his word is not a conspiracy, or racist, or hate-based or anything else.

No one can say” “it will never be enough” until he actually produces it and the mere fact that he hasn’t gives legitimacy to questioners.

Say what you want, rant how often and how furiously you like – not a single person can justify or even explain why he has not just produced the real thing. Something that he admitted was in his possession at one point. So, it’s not like he doesn’t know what’s on it.

Until he presents his long form birth certificate – it will remain a legitimate issue based on barry’s own claims of transparency. Period.

(6:45)

MATTHEWS: Let me ask you about this native born thing.

GIULIANI: Yeah, we should get off that.

MATTHEWS: What do you make of people like Shelby — a ranking top Republican saying things like he’s saying?

Sen Shelby made his remark FIVE MONTHS AGO. His full sentence: “Well his father was Kenyan and they said he was born in Hawaii, but I haven’t seen any birth certificate.”

GIULIANI: We all make mistakes – we all say things that are wrong.

MATTHEWS: This is what Shelby says – these are not mistakes – these are deliberate statements. “I haven’t seen any birth certificate.” That’s the Senator from Alabama. “I haven’t seen any birth certificate.”

True. No one has except two Hawaii officials. Even GIBBS admitted it’s not a birth certificate. barama gets Rep Posey’s name wrong and later calls barry a “she”.

MATTHEWS: Spokesman for Congresswoman Blackburn says, “People are losing faith in the system because he won’t show his birth certificate.” I mean these comments–Poser–this guy. Look at these! I’ve got the birth certificate right there!

GIULIANI: Show it to them!

Matthews holds up what I believe is the COLB with blacked out numbers. The camera does not get a good look at it.

MATTHEWS: There it is again — I keep showing it!

GIULIANI: Show it to them – they’ll keep quiet.

MATTHEWS: Posey says he can’t swear on a stack of Bibles she’s a citizen or not. You’ve got Rush Limbaugh out there saying Jesus – oh, he says God and Barack Obama neither one has a birth certificate.

GIULIANI laughs.

MATTHEWS: What is this about in your party?

GIULIANI: I don’t know.

MATTHEWS: What is it?

GIULIANI: I think it’s maybe something we should get off but –

MATTHEWS: But why, why does your Party–

GIULIANI: they all have a right to their own–

MATTHEWS: It’s the unAmericanization of presidential candidates. Why does your party do this? To Dukakis – every time–

GIULIANI: Oh, come on.

MATTHEWS: They do it over and over again.

GIULIANI: Look at what the Democrats did to George Bush. He a criminal, he should be investigated, he should be prosecuted.

MATTHEWS: No, no, no.

GIULIANI: …he should be impeached.

MATTHEWS: This undocumented alien crap that Rush Limbaugh’s pushing.

GIULIANI: Right.

MATTHEWS: That he’s somehow undocumented. Lou Dobbs does it. Everybody’s doing it on the Right now. He’s not documented. Why do you keep pushing it?

GIULIANI: I’m not pushing it! You mean why do some people in my party push it? I don’t push it.

MATTHEWS: They’re big shots!

GIULIANI: My Party-

MATTHEWS: Rush Limbaugh — you guys all think he’s great, Rush Limbaugh. He’s doing it.

GIULIANI: I think he’s great on a number of things, but I–

MATTHEWS: They’ve got nine house members pushing the story.

Rep Posey introduced the bill on MARCH 12, 2009. And it has to do with FUTURE presidential and vice presidential candidates – not barry. It is not in any way retrospective and yet who is linking it to barry?

GIULIANI: Every, every Party has disagreements–

MATTHEWS: Does it have wacky?

GIULIANI: Every Party has people who have–

MATTHEWS: Does it have whack jobs?

GIULIANI:–take up issues that aren’t the best issues and we can’t be responsible for all of it. The Democrats have plenty of that. Laughs.

MATTHEWS: But they’re in your playpen and you’re responsible for them.

GIULIANI keeps laughing.

MATTHEWS: So, let me just put this to rest.

GIULIANI: Nobody put them in charge of them.

What Matthews says next is just wrong and I take extreme offense to it. I am not a birther, a Right winger (not even sure what this entails outside hockey), a nutjob, a wacko, a conspiracist racist and I don’t wear tinfoil. I am an America citizen who is appalled at the media’s corruption and lack of vetting of barry, which has been made clear by the birth certificate issue. My questioning of why barry hasn’t just released his birth certificate – when he proclaims transparency – and when it is the media’s job to hold him to it – had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT THAT EVIL MURDERER PERPETRATED AT THE HOLOCAUST MUSEUM. And it is beyond irresponsible for Matthews (and Rachel Maddow and many others) to continue to say such things. That man had been spewing his hate to any and everyone who would listen since before barry’s mother was even born. He spent hours and hours day after day after day on the internet on his own site, which had nothing to do with barry’s birth certificate. He was not set off by birthers and to say so is criminal and whoever continues to flat out say that should be sanctioned.

MATTHEWS: The reason I brought this up is the guy who shot at the Holocaust Museum – this isn’t a joke.

GIULIANI: Yes.

MATTHEWS: These full mooners are spreading this kind of talk and people who are lunatic pick up on it and they think God’s on their side in doing something about it. The guy shows up and blows away that African-American guy who is to protects the museum.

And 27 years ago the guy showed up in Washington DC at the Federal Reserve Building armed with a .38, a knife and sawed-off machine gun and threatened a security guard in an attempt to kidnap the Federal Reserve Board. He didn’t need anything more than had been festering inside his derganged mind for 88 years to do what he did. One could just as easily and irresponsibly say he was set off by Matthews’ professed love for barry or by Rachel Maddow’s professed love for women.

GIULIANI: I think the Republican Party would be much better off if we stuck to the issues.

MATTHEWS: Ok.

GIULIANI: I think there’s nothing wrong with Barack Obama. I think he’s a fine person. He’s got a wonderful family. I think he’s doing a — in certain respects I admire the things he’s been able to accomplish and do – I think he has the wrong ideas! This is a fight about principle – not about whether he’s a cit–I mean that’s over with – that’s already been–

MATTHEWS: Do you have more of an electoral future than Hillary Clinton?

GIULIANI: I have no idea.

Laughing.

Rep Posey’s plea for contributions

July 21, 2009

Updated list of birth certificate posts

Here’s Rep Posey’s plea for contributions to fight the don’t you dare say a thing about barry machine. He is being attacked because he proposed the barry soetoro birth certificate bill (H.R. 1503) that is not retrospective and has nothing to do with barry – except the fact that Democrats and barrymedia are making it about him.

Why should they care what the bill says?

Isn’t barry a natural born citizen?

Isn’t he the legal POTUS?

Hasn’t he already shown his birth certificate??

Rep Posey has gotten some support from House Republicans: Minority Leader John Boehner’s PAC, the Freedom Project, donated $5,000 to Posey’s campaign in June. Minority Whip Eric Cantor’s ERICPAC gave $7,500.

Not sure why he didn’t provide links of his bot attacks. He says they are “already making tens of thousands of automated phone calls in my district” and that he’s “being lambasted by the media and late-night comics” and the “national liberal left has made me Target #1 for defeat in the 2010 Congressional elections” and that they are going to “make me pay for having the gall to enforce the Constitution”.

No, Rep Posey, it’s the gall to question barry.

ISSUE: My bill (H.R. 1503) would require all future candidates for President to provide documents (including a birth certificate) proving they are eligible to hold the office of President under our Constitution.

I need your immediate help if I am to survive the all-out attacks against me by the left-wing hacks and liberal media because of this bill I introduced.

Dear Friend of the Constitution,

My name is Congressman Bill Posey.

I am a conservative Republican and I urgently need your immediate help to win re-election in 2010.

If I am to keep this Congressional seat in Republican hands, I will need to raise upwards of $4,000,000.

The only way I can do this is with voluntary contributions from patriots like you who love freedom and who are alarmed at the wild multi-TRILLION-dollar spending spree by Nancy Pelosi and the Socialist direction the Democratic majority is taking America.

I am now under an all-out assault by the liberal news media and special interests because of a bill I recently introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives.

This bill (H.R. 1503) would require all candidates for President in the future to provide documentation (such as a birth certificate) to prove they are natural born citizens of the United States – which is a requirement outlined in our Constitution.

My question to you is: “Where do you stand on this?”

Our Constitution states:

“No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.”

This is very clear.

“Natural born” means born in the United States.

For most Americans, birth certificates are a matter of public record.

The question is: Do you think we should just ignore the Constitution of the United States? Or do you think we should follow our Constitution?

I have never been known as a bomb thrower or an especially controversial figure.

But I’m being lambasted by the media and late-night comics. And the national liberal left has made me Target #1 for defeat in the 2010 Congressional elections, already making tens of thousands of automated phone calls in my district and raising a multi-million-dollar campaign war chest to defeat me.

I am writing to ask if you will contribute to help me raise the $4,000,000 that I will need to withstand the blistering assault already being waged against me – and that will only intensify in the coming weeks and months.

I am in urgent need of every dollar I can possibly raise if I am to survive this liberal assault and keep this Congressional seat in conservative Republican hands. I will need lots of small contributions from regular taxpayers who are angry and fed up with the tax-and-spend policies of Nancy Pelosi and the liberal Democrats who control Congress.

We can hold these extremist policies in check if we elect more conservatives to Congress.

That is why I need your financial help to survive the massive assault that’s coming at me right now. They are stopping at nothing to defeat me – to make me pay for having the gall to enforce the Constitution.

If I am to survive this multi-million-dollar assault, I need every conservative who reads this message to answer this S.O.S. Emergency Call-for-Help with your best contribution.
Sincerely,

Congressman Bill Posey
Republican Member of the U.S. House of Representatives
Florida’s 15th District

P.S.- I never imagined that simply introducing a bill that would require future candidates for the Presidency of the United States to present a birth certificate or other proof of citizenship upon filing for their candidacy would have kicked up such a firestorm.

Rep Posey’s birth certficate bill: 9 co-sponsors

July 23, 2009

Updated list of birth certificate posts
Matthews vs Rep Campbell re: Rep Posey’s bill (video)

barry minions are going after the “birthers” who are co-sponsors with Rep Bill Posey (R-FL) in the barry soetoro birth certificate bill. Well, that’s how they think of it. It has nothing to do with barry himself (this time) but who is making it about barry?

Matthews and all the birther haters.

Do you think they have a clue how they are keeping the issue in the news? How they are giving birthers free advertising?

And if it’s a bunch of whacked out conspiracist racists – why are they even giving it attention?

The mere fact they are shows that it has some merit and each time they go off more people look into the issue and when they do they realize barry has not ever produced his birth certificate and the nutjobs get more mindless followers.

Rep Posey (R-FL) introduced the bill on March 12, 2009 and the MSM has just decided to go after the co-sponsors? Matthews talks about it like Posey just proposed it. The Bill is aimed at the future. It has nothing to do with barry. It is meant to prevent future barry’s and is meant to keep Roger Caleros off the ballots.

Bill H.R. 1530

To amend the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 to require the principal campaign committee of a candidate for election to the office of President to include with the committee’s statement of organization a copy of the candidate’s birth certificate, together with such other documentation as may be necessary to establish that the candidate meets the qualifications for eligibility to the Office of President under the Constitution.

John Carter (R-TX)
John Culberson (R-TX)
Robert Goodlatte (R-VA)
Kenny Marchant (R-TX)
Randy Neugebauer (R-TX)
Ted Poe (R-TX)

Just a few names to keep an ear out for.

What has been made perfectly clear during this election:

And the person occupying the office of the presidency knew that going in.

And that’s why Rep Posey introduced the bill.

So the Constitution would be protected and respected and the matter handled before the first vote was cast.

Why would anyone of any party be adverse to that?

So why are they?

Chris Matthews going full bore at the birthers trying to protect barry. He doesn’t even stop to question why barry hasn’t just released his actual birth certificate like he has been claiming for the last year he did. Here he’s going after Rep John Campbell (R-CA), who is one of the nine co-sponsors of Rep Posey’s birth certificate bill that would simply require FUTURE presidential and vice presidential candidates to present their birth certificates. It has nothing to do with barry (this term) but the democrats and barrymedia want to make it that way. Matthews shows his lack of knowledge by calling it a birth CERTIFICATE and sayong NATIVE-born not natural born. Somebody should really clue him in.

MSNBC TRANSCRIPT & Video

===============

MATTHEWS: Plus, we‘re going to look at the so-called “birther” movement, the people who somehow believe that Barack Obama does not have a birth certificate and therefore isn‘t a U.S. citizen, certainly not a natural-born U.S. citizen. Most of those birthers are Republicans, and this is becoming a big problem for the party.

MATTHEWS: Take a look at this incredible video from a recent town hall meeting in Delaware with Republican congressman Mike Castle, in which a woman brandishing her own birth certificate makes her case.

MATTHEWS: I think we‘re in an insane asylum. Anyway, it gets worse. The real problem is that what‘s left of the Republican base is very open to this kind of fringe talk. We‘re going to talk and show you more about that video, more of what you just saw from that person later in the show tonight.

MATTHEWS: You think right-wing conspiracy theories about President Obama calmed down after he was elected? Well, think again. Moderate Republican congressman Mike Castle, the former governor of Delaware, held a town hall meeting in his state and he got more than he bargained for from some of his constituents. Take a listen to this.

Video of Rep Castle’s Townhall meeting.

MATTHEWS: Well, they‘re just giving the Pledge of Allegiance apropos the sort of the nut case going on there. Anyway, nutty questions about the president‘s birth certificate are being raised not only at Republican town meetings, but also in Congress, where a group of Republicans are sponsoring a bill to require future presidential candidates to provide their birth certificates. One of those Republicans is Congressman John Campbell of California.

Congressman, thank you for joining us. The reason this is fascinating is that meeting. But let me tell you, the prime sponsor of this, your colleague, Bill Posey of Indiana—[It's Florida] here‘s what he said. “I can‘t swear on a stack of Bibles whether he‘s a citizen or not.” He‘s talking about the president of the United States. His spokesman says, If the guy would produce an authentic birth certificate, an authentic birth certificate, we could stop all this. And then Congressman—Congresswoman Blackburn says people in her district in Tennessee are losing faith in the American system because they don‘t believe this guy is a citizen.

[He puts the bill together with barry]

What is going on that so many Americans doubt the obvious, that Barack Obama is a citizen, to the point that you felt it necessary to co-sponsor this crazy proposal?

REP. JOHN CAMPBELL ®, CALIFORNIA: First of all, Chris—we‘ll get to the proposal in a minute. The proposal is not crazy. The proposal is just looking forward, and I want to get to that. But wouldn‘t you like to put all this to rest? That‘s what this proposal is about.

MATTHEWS: How does this put it to rest?

CAMPBELL: This controversy—let me first say this controversy is not new. Remember there was questions about John McCain. Had John McCain become president—I remember then Senator Obama had to come out and say, Look, I don‘t think John McCain‘s eligibility to be president is an issue, and he was able to put it to rest. But the fact is, if John McCain had become president, you‘d be having this issue on the other side. If you want to go back, people thought that Barry Goldwater was not qualified because he was born in the Arizona Territory and that Mitt Romney‘s father, George Romney, was not eligible to be president because he was born in Mexico.

[McCain brought the issue up himself and provided his birth certificate.]

So, this is not a new issue. What this bill does is very simple.

It‘s only looking forward, as you suggested. It‘s 2012 and beyond.

MATTHEWS: Right.

CAMPBELL: And it just—it—well, let me back up.

You know, the Constitution, as you know, there‘s lots—most elements of the Constitution have implementing legislation. This particular element of the Constitution does not. And this is just implementing legislation…

MATTHEWS: Right.

CAMPBELL: … just saying, look, before you run for president, let‘s make sure—let‘s have you substantiate that you meet the constitutional requirements, that you‘re 35 years old…

(CROSSTALK)

CAMPBELL: Why is that crazy though, Chris?

MATTHEWS: Congressman, nice try. But what you‘re doing…

CAMPBELL: Well…

MATTHEWS: It‘s a nice try, what you‘re offering. And I‘m laughing with you only to this extent, because I know it‘s a nice try.

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: What you‘re doing is appeasing the nutcases. As you just pointed out, this won‘t prove or disprove whether Barack Obama is a citizen. By the way, let me show you his birth certificate.

CAMPBELL: Right.

MATTHEWS: That‘s the way to deal with it. Mail this birth certificate to the wacko wing of your party, so they see it and say, I agree with this. It‘s over. What you‘re doing here is doing what the Republicans did after Roosevelt got elected to a third and fourth term. You said, you can‘t do it again. You‘re verifying the paranoia out there. You‘re saying to the people, you‘re right. That‘s a reasonable question, whether he‘s a citizen or not.

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: Is it a reasonable question, Senator—Congressman? Do you believe it‘s a reasonable question whether Barack Obama is a legitimate native-born American? Is that a legitimate question?

CAMPBELL: Chris, isn‘t it a legitimate question? And, let me ask you, isn‘t it a legitimate question to know…

MATTHEWS: Is it? Here is his birth certificate.

CAMPBELL: Chris, Chris, if—anybody who runs for president, you, me, whoever, that we meet the constitutional requirements, 35 years of age, been a resident of the country for 15 years, whatever it is, and a natural-born citizen. Don‘t you think anybody that who runs for president should—wouldn‘t you want to know that, that they meet those requirements before they run? What‘s wrong with that?

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: OK. Let me ask you this. Do you have any doubts, Congressman, about the authentic native birth in this country of our president? Do you have any doubts?

CAMPBELL: Chris, my—it doesn‘t matter whether I have doubts or not.

MATTHEWS: Do you have any doubts?

CAMPBELL: It doesn‘t matter at all.

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: Oh, you won‘t answer the simple question. See, that feeds this.

(CROSSTALK)

CAMPBELL: I agree with what…

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: No, no. You are feeding the wacko wing of your party. Do you believe that Barack Obama is a legitimate native-born American or not?

CAMPBELL: That is not what this bill is about, Chris.

MATTHEWS: No, what do you believe?

(CROSSTALK)

CAMPBELL: As far as I know, yes, OK?

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: As far as you know?

CAMPBELL: Yes.

MATTHEWS: I‘m showing you his birth certificate.

CAMPBELL: Oh, I can‘t—I‘m looking at a camera right now.

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: Oh, you want me to mail it to you?

CAMPBELL: No.

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: It‘s on the screen now. Take a close look.

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: It says Barack Hussein Obama. He was born August 4, 1961, in Honolulu. Is that a state? Yes, it is. His mother was Caucasian. His father was African. What more do you want?

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: He‘s male. He was born, by the way, at 7:24 p.m. in the island of Oahu. But what more do you want? I‘m serious. You say as far as you know. You are playing to the crazies.

CAMPBELL: Chris, what is wrong…

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: Just tell me—OK, give me…

(CROSSTALK)

CAMPBELL: No, you tell me what—that—because that bill is not about Barack Obama. The bill is about anybody—the bill is about anybody who runs for president.

MATTHEWS: Well, then what about you? What are you about? I‘m asking you, Congressman. You know what? You have a lot of authenticity. You‘re a U.S. congressman. Say it now. He‘s a legitimate president of the United States. He was born in this country.

CAMPBELL: He is president of the United States.

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: No. Was he born in this country?

CAMPBELL: Yes, I believe so.

MATTHEWS: OK. You‘re—I‘m glad we‘re making progress here.

CAMPBELL: OK.

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: You know, your colleague who put this bill in a—no, but the reason your colleague—you co-sponsored a bill by this guy Posey.

Posey‘s spokesman said, we want to see an authentic birth certificate from this guy. His people said, he—his—this is what the congressman said. “I can‘t swear on a stack of Bibles whether he is or is not a legitimate native-born American.”

You guys are playing to the wacko wing. Now, I‘m glad that you have just left the band of merry men and women who are out there jumping up at hearings of people like Mike Castle, who is a normal person, and raising what is really not a good question to raise.

Now, the reason I bring this up with you is, you say this will put the issue to rest. Do you think barring a president from serving more than two terms put to rest whether Franklin Roosevelt should have been elected a third and fourth term? Do you think it really put that to rest, or was it a way of whacking the guy on the way out the door?

CAMPBELL: No. It—he did serve more than two terms. You mean…

MATTHEWS: And why did you guys on the Republican Party side pass a constitutional amendment to say you couldn‘t do that again?

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: Because you wanted to say, let‘s not have this happen again.

(CROSSTALK)

CAMPBELL: Right. And that‘s…

MATTHEWS: Right.

CAMPBELL: And what we‘re saying here is, let‘s not have questions about it again. As I said…

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: There are no questions.

CAMPBELL: No, no, but…

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: Here is his birth certificate. Where are the questions?

(CROSSTALK)

CAMPBELL: But, Chris, the questions, even those questions will go away if there‘s a process, because, if John McCain had been elected, people would be questioning him, too.

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: OK. Congressman, one last question.

CAMPBELL: Sure.

MATTHEWS: Do you believe, by passing a bill, that no more presidents, no future president can be elected without showing a birth certificate will put to rest whether Barack Obama was born in the United States or not?

CAMPBELL: I believe…

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: Do you think that will put it to rest?

CAMPBELL: It—yes, it probably will. Yes, it probably will.

MATTHEWS: How will it put it to rest? How will it put it to rest?

CAMPBELL: Because—well, because he will probably run again in 2012. Is that what you mean, or what?

(LAUGHTER)

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: OK. You‘re saying that he has to show a birth certificate to get reelected president? Is that what you‘re saying?

(CROSSTALK)

CAMPBELL: Chris, it‘s about going forward, OK?

MATTHEWS: OK.

CAMPBELL: It is about ensuring that anyone who runs for president meets the constitutional requirements, so we don‘t have that problem.

MATTHEWS: OK. OK. OK.

CAMPBELL: You have a major in the United States Army now saying he‘s not going to serve because—there‘s a lot of this rippling out there, and this would put it to rest in the future, not now. You‘re correct.

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: Let me tell you how to put it to rest.

CAMPBELL: OK. I‘m listening.

MATTHEWS: Get a copy of Barack Obama‘s birth certificate, which, by the way, you didn‘t have to have—to be on this show to get a copy of it…

CAMPBELL: No, I know. I know.

MATTHEWS: … if you had any interest in finding it, because, before you signed onto this bill, I would have recommended to you, if I were one of your staffers, find out if Barack Obama has a birth certificate that shows he‘s born in this country before we proceed in this wacky direction, because this will send a signal to the whole world—if the U.S. Congress passes a bill and asks the president to sign it, that says no future president can get in the door without proving he‘s a citizen, I think he might get the message that he‘s just been profiled as a suspect in this case.

[Who's connecting the two? And barry doesn't have to sign it.]

(CROSSTALK)

CAMPBELL: Chris, let me let you think about who is—whether it‘s wacky to say that you shouldn‘t have to prove you meet the constitutional requirements before you run.

MATTHEWS: OK. OK.

CAMPBELL: Why—what‘s—I‘m not sure that‘s not a wrong thing to say.

MATTHEWS: OK. I want to see the letters that you send to your constituents. And I want to know whether you tell them, you know, sir, I have a copy of his birth certificate. We really don‘t need it for this president, but I understand the need for future presidents. But I just don‘t want to see people playing to the nut wing, and you say you‘re not doing that.

(CROSSTALK)

CAMPBELL: Absolutely not doing that.

MATTHEWS: OK.

CAMPBELL: In fact, it‘s the opposite, Chris. It will shut this stuff down.

MATTHEWS: No, it won‘t.

(LAUGHTER)

CAMPBELL: All right. Well, we can disagree to disagree on that.

MATTHEWS: No, no, it won‘t, no.

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: If this shuts it down, I will be shocked.

CAMPBELL: OK.

MATTHEWS: Thank you for—you‘re a great guy to come on the show, Congressman John Campbell, who does believe—watch the rerun at 7:00 — he does believe that Barack Obama is an American.

So, those wackos in your district out there, don‘t vote for this guy, because he fundamentally disagrees with you. Anyway—I‘m just kidding.

Rep Nicely re: signing on as Orly Taitz plaintiff (video)

March 24, 2009

Rep Nicely is one of the 10 state reps - all Republican - to sign on as plaintiffs for Orly Tait’s quo warranto case against barry. Here is discussing his decision with his constituents. He expresses amazement that people have been calling him from all over the US and sending him flowers. He also said they were sending him money - not sure what for - he certainly can’t take it as a bribe. Probably bots trying to trap him.

(3-22) Rep Posey’s Birth Certificate Bill to stop future barrys
(3-22) Rep Bill Posey’s (R-FL) barry soetoro birth certificate bill (text)

Here is an interesting blog entry by Rep Bill Posey (R-FL) , who sponsored a bill to require presidential candidates to provide proof of their eligibility for president - at the very least a long form birth certificate. It will be called the barry soetoro (his presumed legal name at this point) birth certificate bill. Rep Posey is, of course, being ridiculed and bot attacked. Proposing this bill is rather courageous considering he was just elected. Emphasis added.

I want to take a moment to recap on my legislative efforts so far… I have been here a little over 2 months and I have 3 bills introduced with more on the way real soon….

He discusses his first two bills.

Now for my third bill…

… Last Friday I introduced a bill that requires all future presidential candidates to file a copy of their birth certificate, along with all the other necessary documentation, to show that a candidate meets the qualifications for president under the Constitution.

What does the U.S. Constitution say about this – Article II says there are three qualifications for president:
1. Must be a natural born citizen
2. Must be at least 35 years old
3. Must have been a resident of the U.S. for at least 14 years.

Why’d I do this? Well, for a number of reasons and the more and more I get called names by leftwing activists, partisan hacks and political operatives for doing it, the more and more I think I did the right thing. First, it’s easy to call people names. This week, I’ve been called some pretty nasty things. That’s fine. But none of these tolerant people actually want to discuss the issue at hand… whether or not a presidential candidate should have to file these documents with the government.

I could easily fill up a page listing all the activities an American needs to show their ID for … everything from playing youth soccer to getting a drivers license, buying cigarettes and alcohol, to opening bank accounts and even playing little league. So I was pretty surprised to find out that to run for president, despite the constitutional requirement and the media scrubbing that goes on, it’s not required for a candidate to file these documents when they submit their statement of candidacy with the FEC.

But having been charged with reforming the elections in the State of Florida after the 2000 recounts and lawsuits, I thought I could offer a solution to this question on eligibility. There’s nothing anyone can do about changing past elections… the President won. All the lawsuits in the world are not going to change that. But if what some folks are worried about – that presidential candidates don’t have to submit to the same documentation that average folks have to submit to – well, then we can change that for the next election.

A recent AOL poll found showed that 75% of the people participating agreed with me. And many have expressed surprise it is not already a requirement.

I’m willing to discuss this issue with anyone who wants to talk in a rational manner, but I WILL NOT engage in name calling, smear campaigns, or any other venomous activity. I will not. Why? Well for one thing, it’s childish. But on another level, we’re supposed to be able to have a civil debate on the issues in this country.

Anyway, I feel I need to be open with folks on this.

Rep Posey being bot attacked for introducing barry soetoro birth certificate bill

Rep Bill Posey (R-FL) introduced this bill meant to ensure that all future presidential candidates show their birth certificate and other such documentation necessary to prove their eligibility to the principal campaign committees - as in Howard Dean - who knew exactly what was going on, which is why Berg was suing him as well.

It should be called the Posey - Posuer Bill or the barry soetoro Birth Certificate Bill.
