Poor Milorad is getting attacked on all fronts politically and comedians can't get enough of him. He said he didn't watch SNL but that people had told him about it. Now, The Second City, the comedy theater that launched the careers of folks like: Joan Rivers, Peter Boyle, John Candy, Fred Williard, Shelly Long, Bonnie Hunt, Mike Myers, Gilda Radner, John and Jim Belushi, Bill Murray, Rachel Dratch, Stephanie Weir, Steve Carrell and Tina Fey among others, is having their fun at his expense. Including his bouffant, accent (won't be hard), hairbrush, running suit and his Senate appointment and fellow politicians.
Opening on Feb 3rd is "ROD BLAGOJEVICH SUPERSTAR!":
Written by Ed Furman and T.J. Shanoff, Rod Blagojevich Superstar! is a pastiche of 70's rock operas, most notably the Tim Rice/Andrew Lloyd Weber classic Jesus Christ Superstar. Except in this case, Jesus and Mary Magdalene have been replaced by Rod and Patti Blagojevich; and the apostles have turned into the likes of Roland Burris, Patrick Fitzgerald, Dick Mell and Lisa Madigan.
Rod Blagojevich Superstar! is what happens when talent and producers drink too much at the Second City holiday party, begin to brainstorm ideas and decide to write, compose and open a show in 2 weeks.
