What's it all about, Alfie?

The law has finally stepped in with Alfie

I didn't think this story could get any sadder. Here's the story from a previous post about the 13 y/o dad (looks like a 10 y/o), Alfie Patten, and his 15 y/o girlfriend (looks older and is double his size), Chantelle Steadman, who just had a baby. Now 14 & 16 y/o boys have come forward saying they could be the father. The 16 y/o said he slept in her bedroom over a period of three months when she conceived and thinks the baby "has his eyes".

Evidently Chantelle's neighbors say that at least four boys had been allowed to spend the night in her bedroom.

How do they know this? And how does the mother not know? Chantelle lives in a house with 5 brothers and they are on welfare so there is no way the house is so big no one would not know. I guess the neighbors could have seen them climbing in a window if there is one.

Alfie had been allowed to stay at her house in her bedroom and in her bed. What parent doesn't expect nature to take it's course?

The Telegraph:

Chantelle's mother, Penny (38): I spoke to them both one night and asked, 'Are you sleeping together?' Their reply was, 'No'. We had no reason not to believe them.

Why not? Why was he sleeping in there in the first place? She seems to skip over that part of the question. And what about Alfie's mother (Nicola), who allowed him to stay at his "girlfriend's" home knowing he was sharing a bed with her? She has not made a comment. But her sister, Julie Patten, has:

Nicola is distraught. She told me she wants a DNA test to prove if Alfie is the father. She wants the truth to come out now rather than months or years down the line after Alfie has bonded with the baby and become a proper dad. The family thinks Chantelle has had at least two boyfriends before Alfie.

My God they are piling up on this poor girl. Has Maury Povich flown over there?

Here's poor Alfie's comments. How messed up is he going to be for life to begin with and what if he isn't the father?

Other stupid boys are lying, saying bad things, like they have slept with Chantelle too.

But I am the only boyfriend she has had and we've been together for two years, so I must be the dad.

When she found out she was having a baby, I asked her 'Am I the dad?' and she went 'Yeah' so I believe her.

I didn't know about DNA tests before, but Mum explained it's when they do a swab in your mouth and it tells you if you're the dad. So, if I have that, they can all shut up. But I don't really care what people say. And I don't like them being bad about Chantelle.

He is a sweet boy. His father, Dennis (45), who has sired 9 children and didn't think to tell Alfie how babies happens:

A DNA test is the only way to settle this once and for all. I kept asking if she was sure because I thought a boy of his age wasn't capable of conceiving. But then these other lads have come out of the woodwork claiming they have gone with Chantelle too. I am not saying I believe them and I don't want to blacken the girl's reputation, but we have to know for sure – for Alfie, for her and for that baby.

The mother of the child, Chantelle insists Alfie's the one. I can't imagine how overwhelmed she must feel and her words are so naive. I hope they are getting paid for all these interviews.

Chantelle: I love Alfie. I lost my virginity to him. We decided to start a physical relationship because we love each other. There has been no one else. Cruel things have been said but I am just trying to look after my baby and ignore them.
