barry flashback: Madame Secretary’s foreign policy experience

March 1, 2009

It’s a new month and time for a new feature: barry flashbacks. A look now at what he said then to demonstrate what the mindless chanters bought into. The most ridiculous, of course, was the notion that Hillary Clinton had no foreign policy experience save sipping tea with ambassadors - even though she had traveled to 43% of the countries on the planet and is the most recognizable female face on the global stage - and that barry was ready to lead because of his “judgment on Iraq”.

Which judgment? Which plan? The one that would have gotten all the combat troops home before the Pennsylvania primary? The sixteen months he swore by? Or his most recent plan for withdrawal - what President Bush had agreed to do with Iraq?

Taken from 11-7-07 post

BARRY: Sen Clinton is claiming basically the entire eight years of the Clinton presidency as her own, except for the stuff that didn’t work out (laughs dismissively) in which case she says she had nothing to do with. (laugh)

SCHUSTER: She picked up the support of 60 black ministers.

CLINTON: There are lots of ways in which what I did was the face of American when I was there, when I was representing not only my husband but the country.

SCHUSTER: Obama then pounced.

BARRY: If she wants to tout her experience by having visited countries - that’s fine. I-I-I don’t think that Madeline Albright would think that Hillary Clinton was the face of foreign policy during the Clinton administration - but maybe she’ll disagree with that.

ALBRIGHT statement: Hillary Clinton represented American interests and values in her visits to more than 80 countries with presidents, prime ministers and leaders of civil societies…her seven years as US Senator has further deepened her experience…she will be ready from the very first day to lead our nation in a very difficult and dangerous world.
