Octuplets: Grandfather purchases $564,900 house

March 9, 2009

Not sure how this happens.

Two weeks ago when the grandfather, Ed Doud, was on Oprah he said he was down to his last $100 and was going to have to go back to his native Iraq to work. Has anyone looked into what he actually did over there? What is his status?

DOUD: Ed, who lives overseas for work, says he used most of his savings since returning to the United States and now has just $100 left. “I have either one week, maybe two weeks maximum. Then I have to go back. Do I really want to be 10,000 miles away from my grandchildren who I love so much? But I have to.”

Now he’s closing on a $564,900 house?

Who is paying for it? He is divorced from the grandmother, who already abandoned one house and whose present house is being foreclosed on - she hasn’t payed the mortgage since May 2008 and is over $20K in arrears. She has also filed for bankruptcy.

So where is he getting the money from? And what is going to happen to the grandmother and the house she and Nadya and the 6 children presently reside?

According to CBS News:

The 2,583-square-foot house in La Habra, about 20 miles east of Los Angeles, has four bedrooms, three baths and a large, fenced-in backyard. The master bedroom features a walk-in closet. [pix]

Angels in Waiting has agreed to provide her care there instead of the original plan, which called for Nadya to relocate to Lake Arrowhead. She refused because among other things it was “too cold”.
