“The Secret behind Obama’s Bow to the King”

My curiosity was piqued by the title of the article but after reading it I confess to missing the secret. I think the writer was trying to say that because barry grew up in Indonesia he felt comfortable with the bow. Thing is, he lived there from age 6-10 and said his stepfather did not practice religion. It would have fine if they were dudes just meeting up at a dinner - but they weren’t. And it doesn’t matter what is common or considered whatever wherever. In the US, a bow is a gesture of subservience.

And what goes missing in all this is that the King put his hand out in a handshake - not expecting anything else. He was just as surprised as the folks around him in the picture/video. [see links below]

Anyway, Saudi writer MUHAMMED DIYAB (Asharq Al-Awsat) brings up the fact that Americans are still wondering if barry is a Muslim. He didn’t intend it, but that is the most meaningful thing he wrote (emphasis added):

Even though American law does not prohibit a Muslim from becoming President of the United States, law is not always the absolute with regards to the American presidency.

Not even Constitutional law.

Here’s the secret:

Obama lived part of his childhood in Indonesia and in his meeting with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques attempted to evoke this. For bowing is an expression of affection in Indonesian culture and in East Asia in general. And so Obama wished to demonstrate his respect and appreciation of the personality of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, who has made one of the most important calls in the modern era, namely the call for inter-faith and inter-cultural dialogue to defuse the hatred, conflict and wars. And so the American right-wing – and the media which is sympathetic towards them - is reading too much into Obama’s bow.

He was not greeting the king as a 6 y/o child. He was greeting him as an equal on the world stage. By bowing, he made himself subservient. By bowing, he broke protocol - if in fact he was aware of it. And by bowing, he pandered to the Arab world in his attempt to rule the cosmos.

He cares about nothing about The American People - just his ego.

And what kind of call is the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques making and to whom?

To the 8 y/o girl who was married off to a 47 y/o to settle her father’s debt? To the judge who wouldn’t dissolve the “marriage”. To the “holy men” who think child marriage and female genital mutilation is ok? To the husband who throws acid in his wife’s face because she wanted a divorce? To the father who beheads his daughter in the name of honor? And what about the king’s own wife/wives? Is he reaching out to teach her/them how to drive?
