Drew Peterson appears in court

Updated: Drew Peterson posts (5-8)

Drew Peterson appeared in court but his lawyers did not. Joel Brodsky is in New York getting his TV time and his partner couldn’t be there either. Never heard of a partner until yesterday.

Peterson got his media fix during his 30-second shackle walk from the locked cage he arrived to the back of the court house door. Dressed in brick red prison scrubs, white socks and slippers with his hands and feet shackled and officer at each elbow, Peterson looked up at the reporters who were yelling at him.

Drew, how do you intend to meet this murder rap?

Drew, looking forward to your day in court?

To which Peterson responded:

Look at this spiffy outfit, my God! Look at the bling! [shackles]

And again:

Three squares a day and this spiffy new outfit, how could I complain? Look at all this bling!

Inside court he was his same arrogant, gum-chewing self. He said he had no objection to the delay. He knew his lawyers were out of town.

Judge Richard Schoenstedt set May 18th as the new hearing date.

And unless Peterson can come up with the $2M – he will be in jail at least until then.

It is shocking to believe this day has finally come.

And it’s sad to imagine what Stacy’s children are asking and what Drew’s teenage sons are going to have to go through till the end of the school year. Especially since people know what they look like after Drew made them go on TV to say what a great dad he is.

And what about Raines’ kids, who haven’t had a steady home to live in? Is she expecting to have a jail wedding?

Nobody wins. It’s all tragic. The beast is in jail but the evil he has wrought and destruction he has caused lives on.
