DNA results made public by the London’s High Court prove Alfie Patten is not the father of Chantelle Steadman’s baby daughter. We had written as much back in March, but the source article mysteriously disappeared. The DNA-proven father, Tyler Barker, was 14 at the time Steadman conceived.
Here’s the sad truth from The Sun’s ANTONELLA LAZZERI [emphasis added]
Tyler, who is now 15 and lives on the same estate as Chantelle, claimed he slept with her thinking she would take the morning-after pill. He said: “I thought she’d take care of it.”
Speaking before the DNA test, he admitted: “I slept with Chantelle about nine months ago and I’m really worried I could be the father. I hope it’s not me.
“All my mates have been teasing me about it — but this isn’t funny, it’s serious. Having sex with her was the worst mistake I’ve ever made in my life. I wish I’d never met her.
“To be honest I didn’t really fancy her. Now I’m terrified I could be the daddy.”
Speaking in February, Tyler’s dad Chris Ireland said: “I’d no idea Tyler was at Chantelle’s house because he was meant to be with a mate. But when it came out that she was pregnant he came to see me and confessed that he had slept with her. We were very worried. I even had a proper chat with him about his responsibilities and about what he’d have to do if he was the dad.”
Just like Alfie’s dad, who has 9 or so children, talked to Alfie after the baby was born. Now listen to what the grandfather says. He admits he didn’t know where his son was and that he had never talked to his son about the responsibilities of having a child and in the next breath blames the mother of the child, also 15, for taking advantage of his son while he was drunk. How is that teaching his son responsibility? The son who said he thought “she’d take care of it” and that he “wished he’d never met her” as if it is all her fault? And where’s the “proper chat” about drinking at age 14? And the grandfather taking responsibility for not knowing his son was sleeping at her house and getting drunk (if that’s even true )? The chat about respecting the mother of your child?
Chris, 44, said Chantelle seduced his son while he was drunk — and told how Tyler WEPT when he realised he could have fathered the tot.
He said: “He’s devastated and has broken down in tears at the thought.
“Far from bragging about it, he thinks his life’s been ruined by this.“
What about the baby’s?
And the phrasing that his son’s “life’s been ruined by this” shows granddad hasn’t acknowledged his own role. Nothing ruined it for his son. His son “ruined” his own life through his own actions that perhaps might have been preventable had granddad had a proper chat or two a few years earlier. The lack of “proper chats” goes at least as far back as the great grandfather whose probably in his 60’s.
And who is chatting with Alfie?
Who’s going to make sure he doesn’t get his next girlfriend pregnant just to prove to the world that he’s a “man”?
