Updated: Drew Peterson posts (5-15)

The Grand Jury heard testimony of several key witnesses today in regards to Stacy Peterson.
- THOMAS MORPHEY, Drew Peterson’s stepbrother claims he may have helped Peterson remove Stacy’s body from the Peterson home the day of her disappearance. He said he helped Drew carry a blue plastic barrel that “was still warm”.
- Morphey also says that Peterson asked him if he loved enough to kill for him.
- Will County State’s Attorney JAMES GLASGOW gave him immunity.
Peterson lawyer, JOEL BRODSKY says because Morphey’s testimony is unreliable because of his alleged mental health and substance abuse history.
- Former friends of Peterson LENNY WAWCZAK and PAULA STARK claim they made secret recordings of Peterson on behalf of the State Police that allegedly contain damaging statements re: Stacy.
- Peterson and Brodsky say they’re just in it for the money.
- Friend and defender of Peterson STEVE CARCERANO, who was one of the neighbors who discovered Savio’s body, made his second appearance before the Grand Jury.
I thought Grand Juries were supposed to secret but evidently not.
JOEL BRODSKY: He [Carcerano] kind of told me some of the areas they went into and nothing there caused me any concern.
I don’t think that it necessarily indicates there’s gonna be an indictment. It could be simply because the grand jury’s wrapping up and they want to get all these testimonies on the record.
Recall that on April 29th on the Mancow & Cassidy Show, Brodsky said that as far as Kathleen Savio there would never be an indictment. Period. End of story. A week later his client is getting his post indictment welcome to jail mugshot and cavity search.
- The Grand Jury expires May 21st.
- A body is not needed to find someone guilty of murder in Illinois.
Although Glasgow and Stacy’s family would like it if they handed down an indictment – it’s not a done deal if they don’t. Another Grand Jury can be convened or Stacy’s case can be added to one that is already impaneled.
- Peterson fiancee CHRISTINA RAINES went before the Grand Jury on February 5th less than a week after she moved out in response to Peterson’s Nightline interview only to move back in on the 11th.
- Peterson is due in court on Monday. Brodsky hopes to get his $20 million bail reduced.
- Peterson’s four youngest children: 2 Stacy’s, 2 Kathleen Savio’s are staying with Peterson’s oldest son.
