Piers Morgan was on the Today Show this morning talking to Kathie Lee Gifford and Heda Kotb via satellite from London. He talked about runner up Susan Boyle and how she’s doing – even though he hadn’t talked to her since she was admitted to the mental health facility, The Priory.

  • completely exhausted
  • most extraordianrry roller coaster rides
  • gone from anonymity to the global super stardom in 7 weeks
  • end of her tether…needs a break…needs to and be with friends and family
  • needs to get away from media glare – just
  • cumulative effect not a single episode
  • chill out a bit
  • incident that led to her going to clinic wasn’t dramatic
  • 90% of 7 weeks was shown on British TV and viral internet
  • able to handle it with remarkable confidence
  • after semifinal got negative press – headlines about behavior
  • arguments with journalists
  • began to boil up during the week
  • everyone expecting her to win -
  • beginning to feel pressure during the week
  • wasn’t sleeping and eating and was physically ill
  • my heart goes out to her
  • ordinary woman from Scotland
  • gone through incredible period
  • needs a bit of rest calm things down
  • work on album – what she really wants to do
  • thinks it would be the biggest seller of the year
  • told Piers: “I need a rest”
  • crying, wasn’t sleeping and physically sick throughout
  • some said she should have been pulled her off the show
  • told her to nail that song the whole world will be reminded of her audition

  • relentless global media attention freaked her out a bit
