Jon Stewart tees off on Lou Dobbs and the birthers and in the process provides some humor. Though the last laugh is on him since he chose to use Kitty Pilgrim as the bastion of truth. What are these folks going to do when the actual birth certificate is released and they have to watch these tapes over again? And who doesn’t think that lady in red is absolutely as off as the previous John McCain lady in red? They find the most extreme example and lump everyone together. Makes them no more credible.
He calls Orly Taitz the “lost Gabor sister” and then proceeded to make fun of her credentials: lawyer, dentist, real estate agent. Why is she putting all that up there?
JON STEWART: (profanity included)
Are you looking to have a botched root canal, sue for the damages, and then use the settlement money to buy the house of your dreams?
If so, you can call me, Orly Taitz, you’re one stop shopping for all things tooth, legal and shelter related.
And then he goes into a shouting match — much the same as Roland Martin, who Lou Dobbs had to tell to chill the hell out.
What is going on here?
Can we just get to the bottom of this?
Can anyone just show the proof that Obama was born here?
Then he shows Kitty Pilgrim [full CNN segment video/text] of all people talking about the birth certificate, quoting factcheck, Gov Lingel (Pilgrim does not provide the “on record” quote and I’ve never seen it) and then the birth notices in the paper, which I find hysterical. Folks would rather pin their money on birth notices in a paper anyone could have run (even though they claim otherwise) rather than look at the actual paper that names the actual hospital, the actual the date and the actual doctor. I don’t understand this madness. If it’s all legit release it.
That was Kitty Pilgrim debunking this myth on July 17th.
“Debunking this myth” when they don’t even know where barry was born – as in what hospital – not even Gibbs.
On videotape dated July 20th, selective, incomplete quote:
LOU DOBBS:The questions won’t go away because they haven’t been dealt with.
And away Stewart goes…
DO YOU EVEN WATCH CNN?!
Your own fucking network?!
And that was Kitty Pilgrim filling in for you on your show!
She debunked that theory – filling in for you on your show!
Funny:
Her last name is Pilgrim…how much more American can she get?
Dave Letterman style:
Don’t you remember you came in the next day after she hosted and your seat was warm and didn’t have the mean old man smell anymore?
With an address and no name:
For FUCK’S SAKE, Lou, the local papers in Hawaii announced Barack Obama’s birth!
And then his own comedic conspiracy theory:
Ohmigod, Barack Obama’s running the old Kenyan Prince Birth Announcement Scam….
When the scam bit is over:
We laugh. It’s a laughable issue. It’s the kind of issue reasonable people dismiss.
Then, it really gets funny. He shows Chris Matthews (Hardball Sideshow about Stewart’s rant), who has been waving that piece of paper around that says in big letters across the top: CERTIFICATION OF LIVE BIRTH, while proclaiming it’s the birth certificate and saying “native born” not “natural born”, talking with Rep Campbell who in response to Matthews’ question says “as far as he knows” barry’s a native born citizen. [Full hardball segment video/text]
…And I have no reason to believe Congressman Campbell spends his time surreptitiously giving out dollar tug jobs at the local rest stop.
All I’m doing is introducing legislation to make sure next time we catch this motherfucker.
You know, we have used Media Matters more than a few times as a source – mainly as concerns sexism and misogyny but with this birth certificate issue they have gone over the edge. Just read anything about it and their tone is one of near hysteria – Chris Matthews David Schuster in print. What used to be a neutral, fact based view of a TV segment using the transcript and actual factchecking–as in facts–is now an emotional this! has! got! to! stop! NOW! assault.
Media Matters for whom?
One would expect from their history to simply ask: Where is the original birth certificate? Why is he hiding it? Why is he spending money to fight in court to prevent its release?
Instead of multiple posts – they should go straight to the source and ask for a copy – like they would if it was anyone else.
But they aren’t.
Why?
It doesn’t matter how far out people’s claims are – in fact, the more far out they are — like many of them are (lady in red, for instance) — the more it argues their behavior is suspect.
They want to shut Lou Dobbs and everyone else up? They want it to end once and for all?
So, what’s the most direct way to do it?
Show a graphic of a newspaper ad from 1961 that no one alive can vouch for at an address no one can confirm barry or his family lived at?
Or an actual piece of paper that has the actual hospital, the actual physician and actual nurse’s names on it – whether it’s a paper copy or scanned?
When are they going to figure out their outrage is recruiting more birthers?
Look very closely in this “proof” video and point out just where “CNN [who] has fully investigated the issue and found no basis for the questions about the president’s birthplace” names the actual physical birthplace. See if you can spot the graphic.
Not.
But CNN has fully! investigated! and found no! basis! for the questions!!! about the birthplace!
A birthplace they cannot even name.
Talk about crazy.
Sorry about the ! but it represents their mindless hysteria. Can’t blame them. If they’re wrong after all this – how much is anything they say going to matter?
I just want to know how many of them know the truth. Here’s the full segment with KITTY PILGRIM, Orly Taitz, Alan Keyes, Errol Louis & John Avlon and here’s Lou Dobbs, Roland Martin and Rep Poe. Not sure what happened to the post with Rich Sanchez.
Media Matters
Notice how they have the links to the “proof” except for the statement about the Republican Governor.
PILGRIM: Republican governor of Hawaii, Linda Lingle, on record, she says Obama was indeed born in her state and we should note, she did support John McCain.
Why wasn’t it there? Because it doesn’t exist?
I have no idea. I looked and couldn’t find anything and don’t ever remember hearing it. Politifact claimed she said it was on the up and up when she was campaigning for McCain. The claim she sealed barry’s birth certificate was false.
“CNN’s own contributors saw through the HATE and the LIES.”
Who?
Rich Sanchez, who got it wrong back in February with Sen Shelby?
And Roland Martin with the tired old racism:
“How is this black guy all of a sudden running the country.”
Rolly would have a tad more credibility if he ever brought up the fact that 8 million (1/3) of eligible black voters didn’t even bother to register to vote for barry and that whiteys and Hispanics put barry in the WH. Here he did the race thing – on Lou Dobbs it was because barry’s “Moos-lum“.
But the punchline comes at the very end – I guess in an attempt to force CNN to do something:
How will CNN deal with Lou Dobbs undermining their credibility?
By having the chief, Jon Klein say it’s a “dead issue” (posting next) only to change his tune 24 hours later?
Our gas line inducement act, AGIA, that was the game-changer and this is thanks to our outstanding gas line team, and the legislature adopting this law, 58-1. They knew, they know AGIA is the vehicle to drive this monumental energy project and bring everyone to the table, this bipartisan victory, it came from Alaskans working together with free market private sector principles, and now we are on the road to the largest private-sector energy project in the history of America. It is for Alaska’s future, it is for America’s energy independence and it will make us a more peaceful, prosperous and secure nation.
What I promised, we accomplished. “We” meaning state staff, amazing commissioners, great staff assisting them, and conscientious Alaskans outside the bureaucracy – Tom Van Flein, and Meg Stapleton and Kristan Cole, so many others, many volunteers who just stepped up to the challenge as good Alaskans, but nothing, nothing could have succeeded without my right-hand man Kris Perry. She is the sharpest, boldest, hardest-working partner. Kris is my right-hand man and much success is due to Kris.
So much success, and Alaska there is much good in store further down the road, but to reach it we must value and live the optimistic pioneering spirit that made this state proud and free, and we can resist enslavement to big central government that crushes hope and opportunity. Be wary of accepting government largess. It doesn’t come free and often, accepting it takes away everything that is free, melting into Washington’s powerful “care-taking” arms will just suck incentive to work hard and chart our own course right out of us, and that not only contributes to an unstable economy and dizzying national debt, but it does make us less free.
I resisted the stimulus package. I resisted the stimulus package and we have championed earmark reform, slashing earmark requests by 85% to break the cycle of dependency on a stifling, unsustainable federal agenda, and other states should follow this for their and for America’s stability. We don’t have to feel that we must beg an allowance from Washington, except to beg the allowance to be self-determined. See, to be self-sufficient, Alaska must be allowed to develop – to drill and build and climb, to fulfill statehood’s promise. At statehood we knew this. At statehood we knew this, that we are responsible for ourselves and our families and our future, and fifty years later, please let’s not start believing that government is the answer. It can’t make you happy or healthy or wealthy or wise. What can? It is the wisdom of the people and our families and our small businesses, and industrious individuals, and it is God’s grace, helping those who help themselves, and then this allows that very generous voluntary hand up that we’re known for, enthusiastically providing those who need it.
Alaskans will remember that years ago, remember we sported the old bumper sticker that said, “Alaska. We Don’t Give a Darn How They Do It Outside?” Do you remember that? I remember that, and remember it was because we would be different. We’d roll up our sleeves, and we would diligently sow and reap, and we can still do this to carve wealth out of the wilderness and make our living on the water, with strong hands and innovative minds, now with smarter technology. It is what our first people and our parents did. It worked, because they worked. We must be prudent and persistent and press for the people’s right to responsibly develop God-given resources for the maximum benefit of the people.
And we have come so far in just 50 years. We’re no longer a frontier outpost on the periphery of the world’s greatest nation. Now, as a contributor and a securer of America, we can attain our destiny in the promise of our motto “North to the Future.” See, the pressing issue of our time, it’s energy independence, because there is an inherent link between energy and security, and energy and prosperity. Alaska will lead with energy, we will prove you can be both pro-development and pro-environment, because no one loves their clean air and their land and their wildlife and their water more than an Alaskan. We will protect it.
Yes, America must look north to the future for security, for energy independence, for our strategic location on the globe. Alaska is the gate-keeper of the continent.
So, we are here today at a changing of the guard. Now, people who know me, and they know how much I love this state, some still are choosing not to hear why I made the decision to chart a new course to advance the state. And it should be so obvious to you. (indicating heckler) It is because I love Alaska this much, sir (at heckler) that I feel it is my duty to avoid the unproductive, typical, politics as usual, lame duck session in one’s last year in office. How does that benefit you? No, with this decision now, I will be able to fight even harder for you, for what is right, for truth. And I have never felt like you need a title to do that.
So, as we all move forward together, let’s vow to keep championing Alaska, to advocate responsible development, and smaller government, and freedom, and when I took the oath to serve you, I promised…remember I promised to steadfastly and doggedly guard the interests of this great state like that grizzly guards her cubs, as a mother naturally guards her own. And I will keep that vow wherever the road may lead. Todd and I, and Track, Bristol, Tripp, Willow, Piper, Trig…I think I got ‘em all. We will forever be so grateful for the honor of our lifetime to have served you. Our whole big diverse full and fun family, we all thank you and I am very very blessed to have had their support all along, for Todd’s support. I am thankful too. I have been blessed to have been raised in this last frontier. Thank you for our home, Mom and Dad, because in Alaska it is not an easy living, but it is a good living, and here it is impossible to lose your way. Wherever the road may lead you, we have that steadying great north star to guide us home.
So let’s all enjoy the ride, and I thank you Alaska, and God bless Alaska and God bless America.
What an absolutely beautiful day it is, and it is my honor to speak to all Alaskans, to our Alaskan family this last time as your governor. And it is always great to be in Fairbanks. The rugged rugged hardy people that live up here and some of the most patriotic people whom you will ever know live here, and one thing that you are known for is your steadfast support of our military community up here and I thank you for that and thank you United States military for protecting the greatest nation on Earth. Together we stand.
And getting up here I say it is the best road trip in America soaring through nature’s finest show. Denali, the great one, soaring under the midnight sun. And then the extremes. In the winter time it’s the frozen road that is competing with the view of ice fogged frigid beauty, the cold though, doesn’t it split the Cheechakos from the Sourdoughs? And then in the summertime such extreme summertime about a hundred and fifty degrees hotter than just some months ago, than just some months from now, with fireweed blooming along the frost heaves and merciless rivers that are rushing and carving and reminding us that here, Mother Nature wins. It is as throughout all Alaska that big wild good life teeming along the road that is north to the future. That is what we get to see every day. Now what the rest of America gets to see along with us is in this last frontier there is hope and opportunity and there is country pride.
And it is our men and women in uniform securing it, and we are facing tough challenges in America with some seeming to just be Hell bent maybe on tearing down our nation, perpetuating some pessimism, and suggesting American apologetics, suggesting perhaps that our best days were yesterdays. But as other people have asked, “How can that pessimism be, when proof of our greatness, our pride today is that we produce the great proud volunteers who sacrifice everything for country?” Now this week alone, Sean Parnell and I we’re on the, um, on Ft. Rich the base there, the army chapel, and we heard the last roll call, and the sounding of Taps for three very brave, very young Alaskan soldiers who just gave their all for all of us. Together we do stand with gratitude for our troops who protect all of our cherished freedoms, including our freedom of speech which, par for the course, I’m going to exercise.
And first, some straight talk for some, just some in the media because another right protected for all of us is freedom of the press, and you all have such important jobs reporting facts and informing the electorate, and exerting power to influence. You represent what could and should be a respected honest profession that could and should be the cornerstone of our democracy. Democracy depends on you, and that is why, that’s why our troops are willing to die for you. So, how ’bout in honor of the American soldier, ya quite makin’ things up. And don’t underestimate the wisdom of the people, and one other thing for the media, our new governor has a very nice family too, so leave his kids alone.
OK, today is a beautiful day and today as we swear in Sean Parnell, no one will be happier than I to witness by God’s grace Alaskans with strength of character advancing our beloved state. Sean has that. Craig Campbell has that. I remember on that December day, we took the oath to uphold our state constitution, and it was written right here in Fairbanks by very wise pioneers. We shared the vision for government that they ground in that document. Our founders wrote “all political power is inherent in the people. All government originates with the people. It’s founded upon their will only and it’s instituted for the good of the people as a whole.” Their remarkably succinct words guided us in all of our efforts in serving you and putting you first, and we have done our best to fulfill promises that I made on Alaska Day, 2005, when I first asked for the honor of serving you.
Remember then, our state so desired and so deserved ethics reform. We promised it, and now it is the law. Ironically, it needs additional reform to stop blatant abuse from partisan operatives, and I hope the lawmakers will continue that reform. We promised that you would finally see a fair return on your Alaskan owned natural resources so we build a new oil and gas appraisal system, an is an equitable formula to usher in a new era of competition and transparency and protection for Alaskans and the producers. ACES incentivizes new exploration and it’s the exploration that is our future. It opens up oil basins and it ensures that the people will never be taken advantage of again. Don’t forget Alaskans you are the resource owners per our constitution and that’s why for instance last year when oil prices soared and state coffers swelled, but you were smacked with high energy prices, we sent you the energy rebate. See, it’s your money and I’ve always believed that you know how to better spend it than government can spend it.
I promised that we would protect this beautiful environment while safely and ethically developing resources, and we did. We built the Petroleum Oversight Office and a sub-cabinet to study climate conditions. And I promised I’d govern with fiscal restraint, so to not immorally burden futre generations. And we did…we slowed the rate of government growth and I vetoed hundreds of millions of dollars of excess and wtih lawmakers we saved billions for the future.
I promsed that we’d lead the charge to forward funding education, and hold schools accountable, and improve opportunities for special needs students and elevate vo-tech training and we paid down pension debt.
I promised that we would manage our fish and wildlife for abundance, and that we would defend the constitution, and we have, though outside special interest groups they still just don’t get it on this one. Let me tell you, Alaskans really need to stick together on this with new leadership in this area especially, encouraging new leadership… got to stiffen your spine to do what’s right for Alaska when the pressure mounts, because you’re going to see anti-hunting, anti-second amendment circuses from Hollywood and here’s how they do it. They use these delicate, tiny, very talented celebrity starlets, they use Alaska as a fundraising tool for their anti-second amendment causes. Stand strong, and remind them patriots will protect our guaranteed, individual right to bear arms, and by the way, Hollywood needs to know, we eat, therefore we hunt.
I promised energy solutions and we have, we have a plan calling for 50% of our electricity generated by renewable resources and we can now insist that those who hold the leases to develop our resources that they do so now on Alaska’s terms. So now finally after decades of just talk, finally we’re seeing oil and gas drilling up there at Point Thompson. And I promised that we would get a natural gas pipeline underway and we did. Since I was a little kid growing up here, I remember the discussions, especially the political discussions just talking about and hoping for and dreaming of commercializing our clean, abundant, needed natural gas.
CBS News video summary of what Secretary Clinton and the foreign policy team are up to. When was she not in charge? Her fractured elbow came about at a good time for barry. She would have stood up for the protesters in Iran immediately – especially after seeing that video of Neda’s murder. As is, it took days for barry to see the light and then when he finally did what she recommended he doesn’t tell her. Like he thought of it on his own. He really is a very small man. The world knows who Secretary Clinton is and has known her for two decades. She’s gone to countries and visited with women and young people in each one and believe it or not MSM she has a higher profile than barry on the world stage.
How do you think Africa feels that he stopped by Ghana and nowhere else?
President Bush may not be popular very many places but he in Africa he is because of what he’s done about HIV/AIDS. They’re expecting a lot more from barry. Just like the orphanage is still waiting for the aid he promised as a senator.
“We Believe” (Neda’s Song) written and performed Dutch folk musician Ron Buitenhuis. Can’t find any information about him.
It was written in memory of 27 y/o Neda Agha-Soltan who was murdered while standing peaceably in the street during the Iran protests of the election. Dr Arash Hejazi was witness to the murder and said she was shot in the chest from the front by a Basij – not the CIA. Here is Dr Hejazi’s BBC video describing what happened.
Courtesy of LimboLennart
You can see Neda just moments before her murder, walking to the left of her singing teacher–white ponytail and light blue striped shirt–Hamid Panahi. She’s wearing a baseball cap and at (0:43) she turns around and looks at the camera. She is shot shortly thereafter. In a civilized world, we would be watching a video of hers. Women aren’t even allowed to sing in public in Iran.
No violent or graphic footage. No images of her in death or dying.
I wonder if real reporters prefer to follow VP Joe Biden. With barry all you get are pre-sanitized versions of barryblather and teleprompter POTUS and whatever he might have done that wasn’t kosher or made for TV gets embargoed. With Biden – any moment might be a hit column so at least they have something to watch for…like on his recent trip to the Ukraine. Mr Biden, while having a Coke with Ukranian President Victor Yushchenko, remarked on the beautiful scenery:
I cannot believe that a Frenchman visiting Kiev went back home and told his colleagues he discovered something and didn’t say he discovered the most beautiful women in the world; that’s my observation. It’s certain you have so many beautiful women.
Perhaps that’s why Dr Biden preferred he be VP instead of chief head of foreign relations.
Here’s the first autopsy dated March 1, 2004 with the final conclusion (March 2o, 2004) by forensic pathologist Dr Bryan Mitchell:
In consideration of the circumstances surrounding her death, the available medical history, and autopsy findings, the death of theis 40-year-old, white female, Kathleen Savio, is ascribed to drowning.
Comment: The laceration on the posterior scalp may be related to a fall in which she struck her head.
The second I imagine they’re keeping quiet until court and the third I haven’t found a hard copy of – if there is one.
Follow link above for other Savio documents, including the wrongful death lawsuit/estate/will, her letters and family statements/videos.
It’s so predictable they can’t possibly be aware they are doing it.
It’s so predictable the Independents the folks who voted barry in are starting to get the picture.
And who is causing the drop in barry’s numbers?
His own MSM minions.
They are still so obamerized they can’t see folks have had enough of barry himself appearing on TV. Why is it that even though nobody’s watching summer TV, the networks weren’t exactly jumping on covering THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES? Like FOX did not last time.
Why did the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES have to barter two days before his faux “press conference” aka staged questions for an earlier time to at least get CBS to agree to cover him?
And for sure folks have had more, more, more than enough of the talking heads who say barry is God and actually bow to him.
How long is it going to take for them to get this?
There is a certain poetic justice to it, though. They propagandized and embargoed so that folks voted for him and now their propaganda and manic nastiness is turning them off.
Word to MSM: Folks are getting the fact that the COLB barry posted is not the real birth certificate. They are getting the fact that you lied to them and are continuing to do so. They are getting the fact that the “factcheckers” are sympathetic to the cause. They are getting that the factcheckers are changing their “facts”. They are getting that the lawsuits that have been brought were not dismissed because his birth certificate was deemed legal. And most importantly, they are getting that the lawsuits would have gone/would go away if barry produced/produces his birth certificate.
And that is what is drawing them in. Simple logic. Why doesn’t he just produce it? And they are beginning to wonder why the media is attacking instead of asking that simple question themselves.
This isn’t the same birther craziness. More and more folks are looking into it. Folks are reading old posts all the way back to before the election with Donofrio and Wrotnowski. Even the usual anti-birther bots aren’t out refuting every post.
Why?
Read the message boards.
See how many more posts like this are popping up: I voted for him…I think he is a citizen…I think those birthers are deranged…but I’m beginning to wonder why he hasn’t just released it. He needs to just release it and be done with it.
And the ones to worry about are the ones: I voted for him…I think he is a citizen…I think those birthers are deranged…but Obama has lied about a lot of things. Why did he lie that it was a birth certificate when it wasn’t? Why is he still lying about it? Why isn’t he releasing it so at least the military doesn’t have to worrry about it. He needs to just release it and be done with it.
Hey PIQUANT. That’s pretty funny. No, Secretary Clinton was not required to put barry’s faux presidential campaign seal [or even the real one] on her sling. It was the State Department Seal and it was used to cover up the logo of the sling manufacturer. I don’t know firsthand how the elbow is doing but if you look here her fingers are not swollen and this pix was from weeks ago (7-7). In her foreign policy speech (7-15), she was gesturing and almost fully extended her elbow but was still not shaking hands. If you have time watch just a minute of that speech and be reminded what presidential bearing looks like and what it means to give a speech – as in having some clue what one is saying instead of just reading off a teleprompter. The substance of the speech is worth hearing as well – the text is there. She also takes unscreened questions without having to have a primetime press conference.
And, yes, I saw that video clip on hardball where she was asked about running for president. Howie and Simon go off like she brought the subject up. The question was from a woman in THAILAND and even she chuckles. I’ll track the video down.
I’ve always maintained that Howie Fineman will be the first from the NEWSWEEK crew to turn on barry [Altman never] and finally report the truth. After barry’s world tour as a not even nominated candidate, Fineman came clean about barry’s refusal to go to Landstuhl (because there’s be no photo op/video payoff) and also gave insight to barry’s enormous ego.
Here’s his first installment:
Howard Fineman: I’ve been covering Barack Obama for a few years, and it’s usually crystal clear what he is up to. Not last night. This is the first time I’ve asked myself: What was THAT all about?
Even Chris Matthews was upset with barry’s performance.
An honest and perceptive comment.
Chris Cillizza: But, from his opening statement on, it was clear that part of Obama’s goal in the press conference was to directly rebut charges leveled against him and his health care plan by Republicans.
What can one possibly say about Mr Krugman that his words don’t reveal?
Paul Krugman: I found Obama’s health care presentation so impressive — so much command of the issues — that it had me worried. If I really like a politicians’ speech, isn’t that an indication that he lacks the popular touch? (A couple of points off for “incentivize” — what ever happened to “encourage”? — but never mind.) … Seriously, it’s really good to see how much he gets it.
He uses the words “long” and “Obama’s political career” in the same sentence.
Ben Smith: The appearance was striking by its absence of a move that’s long characterized Obama’s political career: When in trouble, go big. Faced with a crisis of confidence or with a political furor, he’s repeatedly shown an ability to rise above the storm, and to broaden the playing field, as when he turned a flap over his pastor into a meditation on race in America … Now, facing his hardest test as President, Obama chose to go small.
And he chose to use the race card like he has routinely done every time his polls drop.
“Actual Americans”?
Digby: Luckily, if actual Americans were listening they likely learned something tonight.
As opposed to what?
Ones who refuse to show their birth certificate or name the hospital they were born in?
And what was the real deal with that reporter “mix up”?
Folks seem to think this is some rightwing nutjobs birther website and have been writing some, dare I say wacko? comments, most of which are not publishable.
The profanity is not a problem, the rants on unrelated issues are not a problem, the personal attacks on our words are not a problem, and although not pleasant to read and oftentimes simply unbelievable to fathom, the personal attacks on us as human beings are a cyber reality.
But the misunderstanding and lack of understanding of what this site is about is a problem.
Folks who do not agree with the folks questioning why barry hasn’t just released his birth certificate and why he has been fighting in court for nearly a year to prevent its release, are doing themselves a disservice by not understanding the difference.
So just to be clear:
Citizens Against Pro-Obama Media Bias is not affiliated with, nor endorsed by, any candidate, political party or organization and is not associated with any movement, cause or website.
We established this website to document and prove the pro-Obama media bias, which has been done many times over–even to where the media has admitted it themselves.
Doubters: Ask yourself if Secretary Clinton or Governor Palin would have been allowed to be president/VP without their birth, medical and/or school records made public. The answer is an obvious and resounding no. More information was dug up about Gov Palin in the weekend following the GOP Convention than is still known about barry. Even Joe the Plumber was vetted more thoroughly.
This is our original site and we started around the Conventions. It was not being crawled by Google and Technorati stopped pinging it completely despite multiple requests to look into the matter – never once receiving an email response (which is their right) so went over to wordpress in mid-December.
There we’ve had our URL’s hijacked by bogus sites, had a series of “Orly Taitz” posts deleted and have periodic problems with posts going missing.
We also have concerns our site may somehow be linked to pornographic sites(s) because of the referrers, such as Facebook.com/porn and Wrestling Divas.com and some extremely disturbing search terms: rape videos, bestiality, sex with young children, mutilated slave girls, nude Chris Matthews, naked Tom Delay. None of us have Facebook accounts and there has never been, nor will there ever be, adult content on this site.
The closest thing to nudity are some images of Henrik Stenson in his skivvies taken in public during an official PGA Tour event that he is fully aware of and finds humorous. And by the traffic, so do a lot of other people across the globe. And there’s the soldier in pink boxers.
The birth certificate issue has emerged as the most fundamental example of the MSM’s lack of vetting of barry, which is why we have been following it. Not because we are sore losers (I have never voted) or racists or homophobes or think he was born in Kenya or is a Muslim (why should it matter if he were?) or believe that he is Constitutionally ineligible to be President.
What matters is the MSM has been completely corrupted and have intentionally allowed him to go unvetted.
Any sane reasoning person knows he is hiding something by not releasing his records — but that DOES NOT MEAN HE IS INELIGIBLE TO BE PRESIDENT.
At this point, I don’t even care what is on it. What are the chances “the first black president” who happens to be descended from Muslims and is now happily using his middle name, is about to be removed from office? It’s a matter of national and global security. It’s why he went to the Arab world early and often.
What does matter is that the MSM is holding him to a different standard than they have any other president. He is the only president whose actual physical location of birth is unknown – as in hospital – if in fact he was born in one. But the MSM is absolutely certain he was born in Hawaii and can rant and rave and destroy the reputations of folks who just want barry to be vetted like every other president – but become curiously silent when asked which hospital barry was born in in Hawaii. And it seems the “factcheckers”: snopes, UPI and barrypedia have had a sudden enlightenment as to the hospital requiring a change in their “facts”.
And the Fight The Smears website set up solely to deal with the birth certificate issue? Gone. “Wasn’t needed anymore.”
Well, clearly it is because Robert Gibbs – the man who speaks for the President of the United States – doesn’t know where he was born – except for sure it was in Hawaii.
In the July 13th, 2009 press briefing, Robert Gibbs responded to the question: “Would you tell us which Hawaiian hospital he was born in?” with “I don’t know the name of the exact hospital.” And then went on to talk about (in reference to barry’s Hawaii birth) “the pursuit of Noble Truth” and the “knowing clarity that comes with that certainty”.
And the media wonders why folks are so angry?
But, by far, the worst thing the MSM did was intentionally embargo facts that could potentially have hurt barry’s chances of being elected. That was not only wrong – it was criminal.
The New York Times admitted to it when they wrote about the ACORN story they had refused to print in October 2008. Then they tried to justify it by saying it wouldn’t have mattered.
Then why did they do it?
The mere fact they did it proves their absolute corruption.
And that is only one example from one media outlet.
And it continues.
Ask yourself why the MSM is going after the “birther nutjobs” instead of simply asking–demanding if need be (as in doing their job)–that the White House release a copy of the original birth certificate?
Instead, the AP, Reuters, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC, NY and LA Times prefer to stake their reputation (relative word) on newspaper notices from 48 years ago?
How reliable was the NY Times “letter from the Mayor of Paris” re: Caroline Kennedy from just seven months ago when a simple text message would have verified the hoax?
What would MSM be doing if it were Secretary Clinton or Governor Palin?
What isn’t known about Secretary Clinton?
And how many “confidential” hospital records were obtained in reference to the absolutely insane allegation (made by folks who can’t count to nine) that Gov Palin did not give birth to Trig? How many folks in the media and elsewhere are still looking into his birth certificate?
And folks wonder why the right side is angry?
Anyway. Apologies if you made it this far – it wasn’t meant to turn into a rant. The media is our focus – and one can only take so much, which is why we follow other things.
Chris Matthews going full bore at the birthers trying to protect barry. He doesn’t even stop to question why barry hasn’t just released his actual birth certificate like he has been claiming for the last year he did. Here he’s going after Rep John Campbell (R-CA), who is one of the nine co-sponsors of Rep Posey’s birth certificate bill that would simply require FUTURE presidential and vice presidential candidates to present their birth certificates. It has nothing to do with barry (this term) but the democrats and barrymedia want to make it that way. Matthews shows his lack of knowledge by calling it a birth CERTIFICATE and sayong NATIVE-born not natural born. Somebody should really clue him in.
MATTHEWS: Plus, we‘re going to look at the so-called “birther” movement, the people who somehow believe that Barack Obama does not have a birth certificate and therefore isn‘t a U.S. citizen, certainly not a natural-born U.S. citizen. Most of those birthers are Republicans, and this is becoming a big problem for the party.
MATTHEWS: Take a look at this incredible video from a recent town hall meeting in Delaware with Republican congressman Mike Castle, in which a woman brandishing her own birth certificate makes her case.
MATTHEWS: I think we‘re in an insane asylum. Anyway, it gets worse. The real problem is that what‘s left of the Republican base is very open to this kind of fringe talk. We‘re going to talk and show you more about that video, more of what you just saw from that person later in the show tonight.
MATTHEWS: You think right-wing conspiracy theories about President Obama calmed down after he was elected? Well, think again. Moderate Republican congressman Mike Castle, the former governor of Delaware, held a town hall meeting in his state and he got more than he bargained for from some of his constituents. Take a listen to this.
Video of Rep Castle’s Townhall meeting.
MATTHEWS: Well, they‘re just giving the Pledge of Allegiance apropos the sort of the nut case going on there. Anyway, nutty questions about the president‘s birth certificate are being raised not only at Republican town meetings, but also in Congress, where a group of Republicans are sponsoring a bill to require future presidential candidates to provide their birth certificates. One of those Republicans is Congressman John Campbell of California.
Congressman, thank you for joining us. The reason this is fascinating is that meeting. But let me tell you, the prime sponsor of this, your colleague, Bill Posey of Indiana—[It's Florida] here‘s what he said. “I can‘t swear on a stack of Bibles whether he‘s a citizen or not.” He‘s talking about the president of the United States. His spokesman says, If the guy would produce an authentic birth certificate, an authentic birth certificate, we could stop all this. And then Congressman—Congresswoman Blackburn says people in her district in Tennessee are losing faith in the American system because they don‘t believe this guy is a citizen.
[He puts the bill together with barry]
What is going on that so many Americans doubt the obvious, that Barack Obama is a citizen, to the point that you felt it necessary to co-sponsor this crazy proposal?
REP. JOHN CAMPBELL ®, CALIFORNIA: First of all, Chris—we‘ll get to the proposal in a minute. The proposal is not crazy. The proposal is just looking forward, and I want to get to that. But wouldn‘t you like to put all this to rest? That‘s what this proposal is about.
MATTHEWS: How does this put it to rest?
CAMPBELL: This controversy—let me first say this controversy is not new. Remember there was questions about John McCain. Had John McCain become president—I remember then Senator Obama had to come out and say, Look, I don‘t think John McCain‘s eligibility to be president is an issue, and he was able to put it to rest. But the fact is, if John McCain had become president, you‘d be having this issue on the other side. If you want to go back, people thought that Barry Goldwater was not qualified because he was born in the Arizona Territory and that Mitt Romney‘s father, George Romney, was not eligible to be president because he was born in Mexico.
[McCain brought the issue up himself and provided his birth certificate.]
So, this is not a new issue. What this bill does is very simple.
It‘s only looking forward, as you suggested. It‘s 2012 and beyond.
MATTHEWS: Right.
CAMPBELL: And it just—it—well, let me back up.
You know, the Constitution, as you know, there‘s lots—most elements of the Constitution have implementing legislation. This particular element of the Constitution does not. And this is just implementing legislation…
MATTHEWS: Right.
CAMPBELL: … just saying, look, before you run for president, let‘s make sure—let‘s have you substantiate that you meet the constitutional requirements, that you‘re 35 years old…
(CROSSTALK)
CAMPBELL: Why is that crazy though, Chris?
MATTHEWS: Congressman, nice try. But what you‘re doing…
CAMPBELL: Well…
MATTHEWS: It‘s a nice try, what you‘re offering. And I‘m laughing with you only to this extent, because I know it‘s a nice try.
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: What you‘re doing is appeasing the nutcases. As you just pointed out, this won‘t prove or disprove whether Barack Obama is a citizen. By the way, let me show you his birth certificate.
CAMPBELL: Right.
MATTHEWS: That‘s the way to deal with it. Mail this birth certificate to the wacko wing of your party, so they see it and say, I agree with this. It‘s over. What you‘re doing here is doing what the Republicans did after Roosevelt got elected to a third and fourth term. You said, you can‘t do it again. You‘re verifying the paranoia out there. You‘re saying to the people, you‘re right. That‘s a reasonable question, whether he‘s a citizen or not.
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: Is it a reasonable question, Senator—Congressman? Do you believe it‘s a reasonable question whether Barack Obama is a legitimate native-born American? Is that a legitimate question?
CAMPBELL: Chris, isn‘t it a legitimate question? And, let me ask you, isn‘t it a legitimate question to know…
MATTHEWS: Is it? Here is his birth certificate.
CAMPBELL: Chris, Chris, if—anybody who runs for president, you, me, whoever, that we meet the constitutional requirements, 35 years of age, been a resident of the country for 15 years, whatever it is, and a natural-born citizen. Don‘t you think anybody that who runs for president should—wouldn‘t you want to know that, that they meet those requirements before they run? What‘s wrong with that?
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: OK. Let me ask you this. Do you have any doubts, Congressman, about the authentic native birth in this country of our president? Do you have any doubts?
CAMPBELL: Chris, my—it doesn‘t matter whether I have doubts or not.
MATTHEWS: Do you have any doubts?
CAMPBELL: It doesn‘t matter at all.
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: Oh, you won‘t answer the simple question. See, that feeds this.
(CROSSTALK)
CAMPBELL: I agree with what…
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: No, no. You are feeding the wacko wing of your party. Do you believe that Barack Obama is a legitimate native-born American or not?
CAMPBELL: That is not what this bill is about, Chris.
MATTHEWS: No, what do you believe?
(CROSSTALK)
CAMPBELL: As far as I know, yes, OK?
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: As far as you know?
CAMPBELL: Yes.
MATTHEWS: I‘m showing you his birth certificate.
CAMPBELL: Oh, I can‘t—I‘m looking at a camera right now.
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: Oh, you want me to mail it to you?
CAMPBELL: No.
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: It‘s on the screen now. Take a close look.
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: It says Barack Hussein Obama. He was born August 4, 1961, in Honolulu. Is that a state? Yes, it is. His mother was Caucasian. His father was African. What more do you want?
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: He‘s male. He was born, by the way, at 7:24 p.m. in the island of Oahu. But what more do you want? I‘m serious. You say as far as you know. You are playing to the crazies.
CAMPBELL: Chris, what is wrong…
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: Just tell me—OK, give me…
(CROSSTALK)
CAMPBELL: No, you tell me what—that—because that bill is not about Barack Obama. The bill is about anybody—the bill is about anybody who runs for president.
MATTHEWS: Well, then what about you? What are you about? I‘m asking you, Congressman. You know what? You have a lot of authenticity. You‘re a U.S. congressman. Say it now. He‘s a legitimate president of the United States. He was born in this country.
CAMPBELL: He is president of the United States.
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: No. Was he born in this country?
CAMPBELL: Yes, I believe so.
MATTHEWS: OK. You‘re—I‘m glad we‘re making progress here.
CAMPBELL: OK.
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: You know, your colleague who put this bill in a—no, but the reason your colleague—you co-sponsored a bill by this guy Posey.
Posey‘s spokesman said, we want to see an authentic birth certificate from this guy. His people said, he—his—this is what the congressman said. “I can‘t swear on a stack of Bibles whether he is or is not a legitimate native-born American.”
You guys are playing to the wacko wing. Now, I‘m glad that you have just left the band of merry men and women who are out there jumping up at hearings of people like Mike Castle, who is a normal person, and raising what is really not a good question to raise.
Now, the reason I bring this up with you is, you say this will put the issue to rest. Do you think barring a president from serving more than two terms put to rest whether Franklin Roosevelt should have been elected a third and fourth term? Do you think it really put that to rest, or was it a way of whacking the guy on the way out the door?
CAMPBELL: No. It—he did serve more than two terms. You mean…
MATTHEWS: And why did you guys on the Republican Party side pass a constitutional amendment to say you couldn‘t do that again?
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: Because you wanted to say, let‘s not have this happen again.
(CROSSTALK)
CAMPBELL: Right. And that‘s…
MATTHEWS: Right.
CAMPBELL: And what we‘re saying here is, let‘s not have questions about it again. As I said…
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: There are no questions.
CAMPBELL: No, no, but…
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: Here is his birth certificate. Where are the questions?
(CROSSTALK)
CAMPBELL: But, Chris, the questions, even those questions will go away if there‘s a process, because, if John McCain had been elected, people would be questioning him, too.
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: OK. Congressman, one last question.
CAMPBELL: Sure.
MATTHEWS: Do you believe, by passing a bill, that no more presidents, no future president can be elected without showing a birth certificate will put to rest whether Barack Obama was born in the United States or not?
CAMPBELL: I believe…
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: Do you think that will put it to rest?
CAMPBELL: It—yes, it probably will. Yes, it probably will.
MATTHEWS: How will it put it to rest? How will it put it to rest?
CAMPBELL: Because—well, because he will probably run again in 2012. Is that what you mean, or what?
(LAUGHTER)
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: OK. You‘re saying that he has to show a birth certificate to get reelected president? Is that what you‘re saying?
(CROSSTALK)
CAMPBELL: Chris, it‘s about going forward, OK?
MATTHEWS: OK.
CAMPBELL: It is about ensuring that anyone who runs for president meets the constitutional requirements, so we don‘t have that problem.
MATTHEWS: OK. OK. OK.
CAMPBELL: You have a major in the United States Army now saying he‘s not going to serve because—there‘s a lot of this rippling out there, and this would put it to rest in the future, not now. You‘re correct.
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: Let me tell you how to put it to rest.
CAMPBELL: OK. I‘m listening.
MATTHEWS: Get a copy of Barack Obama‘s birth certificate, which, by the way, you didn‘t have to have—to be on this show to get a copy of it…
CAMPBELL: No, I know. I know.
MATTHEWS: … if you had any interest in finding it, because, before you signed onto this bill, I would have recommended to you, if I were one of your staffers, find out if Barack Obama has a birth certificate that shows he‘s born in this country before we proceed in this wacky direction, because this will send a signal to the whole world—if the U.S. Congress passes a bill and asks the president to sign it, that says no future president can get in the door without proving he‘s a citizen, I think he might get the message that he‘s just been profiled as a suspect in this case.
[Who's connecting the two? And barry doesn't have to sign it.]
(CROSSTALK)
CAMPBELL: Chris, let me let you think about who is—whether it‘s wacky to say that you shouldn‘t have to prove you meet the constitutional requirements before you run.
MATTHEWS: OK. OK.
CAMPBELL: Why—what‘s—I‘m not sure that‘s not a wrong thing to say.
MATTHEWS: OK. I want to see the letters that you send to your constituents. And I want to know whether you tell them, you know, sir, I have a copy of his birth certificate. We really don‘t need it for this president, but I understand the need for future presidents. But I just don‘t want to see people playing to the nut wing, and you say you‘re not doing that.
(CROSSTALK)
CAMPBELL: Absolutely not doing that.
MATTHEWS: OK.
CAMPBELL: In fact, it‘s the opposite, Chris. It will shut this stuff down.
MATTHEWS: No, it won‘t.
(LAUGHTER)
CAMPBELL: All right. Well, we can disagree to disagree on that.
MATTHEWS: No, no, it won‘t, no.
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: If this shuts it down, I will be shocked.
CAMPBELL: OK.
MATTHEWS: Thank you for—you‘re a great guy to come on the show, Congressman John Campbell, who does believe—watch the rerun at 7:00 — he does believe that Barack Obama is an American.
So, those wackos in your district out there, don‘t vote for this guy, because he fundamentally disagrees with you. Anyway—I‘m just kidding.
MSNBC is in a full court press panic on the birth certificate issue. What happens when Rezko starts talking about blago, which also includes barry? When Fitzgerald goes after Pattti Blagojevich, forcing Blago to say what he needs to say in order to keep one parent with the girls? When they stop and actually look at all the manipulation of the websites having to do with barry — including the White House’s? When they investigate his claims of transparency and see what a mockery he has made of it? And on and on…
So this is The Ed Show. No idea who this dude is. Is he the Democratic version of Rush Limbaugh? He has that pink-faced plumpness of a well-fed Republican. Ok, in all seriousness, I don’t know who he is or what his schtick is — other than false outrage. He’s trying to be like the twins: Herr Olbermann & Ms Maddow, who have that ranting righteous indignation down to an art form and ED is falling woefully short. Word to ED: try a more casual approach (to go along with the title of your show) because it’s very hard to take you seriously – even by MSNBC standards.
ED has a bit called “Psycho Talk” that appears to be a daily segment. Is he aware of how that reflects on him? Just like Olbermann’s “Worst Person in the World” bit reflects his poor self-image in that he needs to find and detail the sins of three people every day so he can feel better about himself. And as much as his venom disgusts me, as much as his intentional hate adds to the evil in the world, as much as his gyne envy castration anxiety despicableness incenses me, when he gets to that segment, I realize how empty he must feel inside and why he needs to scream to be heard.
So ED’s “Psycho Talk” was aimed at Lou Dobbs, who despite his claims of investigation and distrust of barry, is just now realizing that the “factchecks” have been lying and barry has never released his long form birth certificate.
“Psycho Talk Birther Control”
ED: Lou Dobbs?!?!
Yes, he has officially joined the right wing conspiracy theory crazies. Speaking on his radio show – which not many people listen to – Dobbs actually promotes the fringe birther’s movement. He questioned whether President Obama is an American citizen and repeatedly says the President needs to quote, produce a birth certificate?
Dobbs go so far as to suggest President Obama may be undocumented.
Listen.
[Lou Dobbs Radio Show, July 20.]
LOU DOBBS:Should he produce his birth certificate – the long form – the read deal?
Should he be a little more forthcoming?
What’s the deal? What is the deal here?
I’m starting to thing we have a…we have a document isssue.
Do you suppose he is un–no, I won’t even use the word “undocumented”. Wouldn’t be right.
ED: Uhhhh! These people must be thick!
Can you view - yes, you can – you can view the President’s birth certificate yourself. It’s posted online by factcheck.org.
No you can’t view his birth certificate. What’s posted is a one-sided Certification of Live Birth. It’s not a birth certificate. At the very least a “factchecker” should properly name the document they are “vetting”. The mere fact they couldn’t copy down the name on the top of the document reflects how absolutely worthless their “factchecking” was.
Dobbs calls the document peculiar. He wants a quote, long form birth certificate to prove Obama’s citizenship?
This conspiracy theory about Obama’s citizenship has got to end, folks. Lou Dobbs! Liz Cheney! The Republican Congresswoman, who is sponsoring a bill requiring future candidates to present original birth certificates??
Rep Bill Posey (R-FL) introduced it. There are 9 co-sponsors – he chose to mention the lone female. He clearly fits right in at MSNBC.
All they are doing in basically feeding the Republican nutjobs in this country and basically giving them a platform.
So why isn’t barry just putting an end to it? Why isn’t the democratic leadership forcing him to – especially when he needs Republican support for his healthcare ram through, which this kind of talk is not helping? Think obvious folks – not conspiracy.
For Lou Dobbs to wonder if President Obama is (does quote mark gesture) quote, undocumented is one one thing - and that’s finge psychotalk.
Here’s Lou Dobbs and radio show host guests discussing the birth certificate issue. Dobbs brings up a good point: Why isn’t the media just asking barry to produce it and be done with it?
Or at the very least why aren’t they wondering why he hasn’t?
God forbid they ever come to the conclusion that that is their job and something they should have done during the primaries.
(7-21) CNN – Lou Dobbs , Guy Lambert (WHFS, Washington), Dom Giordano (WPHT, Philadelphia), Dr. Joy Browne (WORN, NYC)
DOBBS: Another issue, and that is the birth certificate. This thing is, you know, I don’t know about you, I’m getting calls now. Often. And I’m not talking about (INAUDIBLE). We saw Mike Castle, Congressman Castle in Delaware. I mean he had a meeting, Don, actually — that became the focus, the president’s birth certificate.
There are those who claim that he was born, Don, in a different country. I — you know, the president, obviously, all he has to do is just produce the original birth certificate in Hawaii and be done with it.
What are your listeners saying about this? Or are they dismissing it?
GIORDANO: No, they’re not dismissing it, Lou, in fact, we’re the kind of the capital city of the birthers. The guy named Phil Berg who is a personal friend.
DOBBS: Right.
GIORDANO: And I’ve had on over the years. My son even worked for him. He’s the leading figure in this. I happen to think this is the fault of the Obama administration not producing the original records. This would’ve gone away. Now you have all these people that are grabbing on to this and maybe not surprisingly in the age that we live in, Lou, with conspiracies, et cetera, this has legs.
DOBBS: Yes, this — Guy?
LAMBERT: Well, Lou, I also have to agree. You know the president, all he’s actually produced thus far is a certificate of live birth, big difference from a birth certificate. Certificate of live birth typically states the city you were born in and the time you were born in.
Anyone, pretty much anyone, can obtain a certificate of live birth. You know why not produce the birth certificate? Hank, if it were me, not only would I produce a birth certificate, I’d show my bingo card, as well. But whatever it takes…
DOBBS: We had people, including reporters from the “L.A. Times,” calling up because I referred to this.
BROWNE: They heard.
DOBBS: You know, and I mean, instead of calling the White House to ask why they didn’t do it, they’re calling me to ask why I said I don’t know what the reality is. No one does.
BROWNE: But let me tell you, as a psychologist, you know what I’d do? I’d say look, I’m the president, I don’t have to do it and at some point I would show it up and say see you guys are just after…
DOBBS: Yes. Are you sure that would that be the psychology of a president or some autocrat in a distant country?
BROWNE: Well…
DOBBS: As I last remember, this is a democratic republic and the people are to be respected as well citizens and…
[This sums up the wide spread ignorance. Browne doesn't know if the public is asking for it even after her fellow readio hosts said her listeneres are and it's the reason she is sitting there. And the public is not just now asking.]
BROWNE: But I don’t know that the public is asking for it. I think.
DOBBS: Oh, you don’t? Well, I do.
GIORDANO: Wait a minute, Joy…
DOBBS: You just heard all of your colleagues here say that they’re listeners are.
Joy, thank you very much. Guy, thank you. Don, thank you.

CNN Lou Dobbs takes on the birth certificate issue this time with Rep Poe, a co-sponsor of Rep Posey’s barry soetoro birth certificate bill and Roland Martin, who is back to his campaign rant. A very different tone than his ha-ha this is funny CNN commentary. Just watch with the sound off. Rolly is one pist off dude – even as he tries to shrug it off as “hilarious”. I’m with Shakespeare here – methinks Rolly doth protest too much and he better get himself under control. The whole media needs to.
Lou Dobbs says something interesting that I have never heard before:
The State of Hawaii says it can’t release a paper copy of the president’s original birth certificate because they say the state government discarded the original document when the health department records went electronic some eight years ago.
When did they say this? It is entirely new info to me. Janice Okubo and Dr Fukino never alluded to that. Why wouldn’;t Dr Fukino have mentioned that? I have to find out what is going on. If this is a new statement it is quite curious indeed.
Aloha, native Hawaiians. Anyone have their original copy from less than 8 years ago?
NewsPoliticsNews
LOU DOBBS: And the left-wing media launching an all-out attack against me because I simply called for transparency on the issue of the president’s birth certificate and said the president is a U.S. citizen. A comment, by the way, that was not quoted by the left-wing media. We’ll examine this controversy in our face-off debate here tonight.
==============AUDIO CLIP===========
DOBBS: I think the president of the United States is a citizen. But what I don’t understand is why he hasn’t just produced it to get this — this noise out of the way.
I believe Barack Obama is a citizen of the United States, folks. Don’t you? But I do have a couple of little questions, like you. Why not just provide a copy of the birth certificate? That’s entirely within the president’s power to do so. Then, all of this nonsense goes away.
I don’t know what the reality is. Do I believe he is a citizen? Yes, I do, absolutely, but I — I would think it would be a nice thing to produce that birth certificate. =======END==============
DOBBS: Isn’t it interesting not a single outlet in the left-wing national media, just that little part of the national media, chose to include a single one of those quotes from me? We will have much more on the issue of the president’s birth certificate in our face-off debate — next.
DOBBS: President Obama promised transparency and openness in his administration. Yet, he’s chosen not to release his original birth certificate or a copy of it. And a number of Americans are asking, why not? The left-wing media has attacked me because I simply asked the question.
Meanwhile, the state of Hawaii says it can’t release a paper copy of the president’s original birth certificate because they say the state government discarded the original document when the health department records went electronic some eight years ago.
That explanation, however, has not satisfied some critics.
[I think this will be new information to a lot of people.]
DOBBS: Joining me now, Roland Martin. He’s CNN contributor, syndicated columnist. And joining us as well, Congressman Ted Poe. Before we get started, I want to be clear where I stand, because the — the left-wing media kind of forgot to leave out — kind of left a few things out. It was inconvenient to their stories. Just — just one statement, very quickly, if you will. Play that.
==========AUDIO CLIP JULY 21============ DOBBS: I think the president of the United States is a citizen. But what I don’t understand is why he hasn’t just produced it to get this — this noise out of the way. I believe Barack Obama is a citizen of the United States, folks. Don’t you? But I do have a couple of little questions, like you. Why not just provide a copy of the birth certificate? That’s entirely within the president’s power. ========END============
DOBBS: Why not? That’s the question, Roland Martin. What’s the answer?
ROLAND MARTIN, CNN CONTRIBUTOR: Well, first and foremost, he’s produced the document he received from the state of Hawaii.
[Has never been established that COLB image on the internet came from the state of Hawaii. Dr Fukino's spokeswoman said she couldn't say what that COLB was.]
MARTIN: Now, you are saying, where’s the original? According to the state of Hawaii, that is the document that establishes where he was born. So, what is the issue?
DOBBS: So, you don’t think…
DOBBS: So, you don’t think the president has a copy?
MARTIN: No, but what is the issue?
DOBBS: Well, the issue is…
MARTIN: I mean, he’s the president. He’s been certified. He’s in office.
DOBBS: Well, he’s a president. I mean, he’s not like a — I mean, you make it sound like he’s been anointed something beyond that.
MARTIN: No, no, he’s a president of the United States, the 44th.
DOBBS: Yes. Yes.
MARTIN: So, what — what is the point? I mean, exactly where is the story in this? If he has presented a document, the state of Hawaii has confirmed that — that he was indeed born there, what’s the issue?
[The state of Hawaii has not confirmed he was indeed born there. Period. That is the issue.]
DOBBS: Ted Poe, Congressman, what’s the — what’s the issue?
[REP POE unfortunately gets some things right and others wrong. Why can't folks understand this? And it's interesting he only uses the masculine pronoun in reference to future presidents.]
REP. TED POE (R), TEXAS: Well, the president has not produced a birth certificate. He has produced what is a birth announcement from the state of Hawaii. And this could all be settled if he would just produce the birth certify call. And that’s why we have introduced legislation that, in future elections, that the president prove that he is a resident for 14 years, that he’s over 35, and that he’s a native-born American. And that applies to everybody, and we get rid of all this controversy, and we move on down the road.
MARTIN: Congressman, it’s nonsense. First of all, you were a state judge in Texas. I was born and raised in Houston. I remember seeing your stories all the time. My dad, when I got him got a passport, he didn’t have his original birth certificate. He went to the Houston Department of Health and got a copy of his birth certificate. It satisfied his passport, satisfied the State Department. So, how can you say that’s legitimate; oh, but the president has not presented what the state of Hawaii said is an official document with their seal on it?
[ROLLY: THE STATE OF HAWAII HAS MADE ABSOLUTELY NO COMMENT ABOUT THAT COLB. There is no definitive evidence of a seal on that COLB - the back side is not shown in entirety. State Dept does not = Constitutional. Your dad got a copy of his birth CERTIFICATE. barry has not yet shown his. Period. This is all very straight forward.]
POE: Because it is not a birth certificate. It’s not even a copy of the birth certificate. It is a birth announcement. It is like me sending out a birth announcement for one of my children…
MARTIN: No. What is in the newspaper is a birth announcement.
POE: And that’s what it is.
MARTIN: That is an official document. What is in the newspaper is a birth announcement, Congressman. Come on.
DOBBS: Let — let — if I may interject…
[Lou gets the name wrong but has the right idea. CNNbots are barrybots and they put on the screen "OBAMA'S BIRTH CERTIFICATE" even as the whole show is about the fact that it is not a birth certificate. They know people are visual and it's subliminal as well and how many people already turned down the sound so they wouldn't have to hear Rolly rant like the proverbial fat boy protecting the jock?] DOBBS: … do we have a — could we just put up a copy of that certificate — certificate of live birth? What you are looking at there, which I believe is the copy that comes from FactCheck.org or Annenberg, there’s no reference there to the attending physician. There’s no reference there to the hospital in which he was born. It is a certificate that refers to the fact that another certificate exists.
MARTIN: Is it an official state document?
DOBBS: I’m sorry?
MARTIN: Is it an official state document of the state of Hawaii?
DOBBS: Well, let me try this again, so I can be really clear about it. [Watch Lou's face.] It is a document that says there’s another document. It does not include that — you are referring to your father’s birth certificate. A copy of his birth certificate would have the doctor, the hospital that he was born in, correct? And this is the — and, by the way, this is just what people are concerned about.
MARTIN: No, no, whose people, first of all? You got 13 percent…
DOBBS: … 600,000 people who have signed a petition.
[Now it's off in they think he is a Muslim and that's why they want it. That is so tired Rolly let it go. Does anyone know what religion McCain, Clinton or Biden are? Did they do surveys? And how many people think Gov Palin is an Evangelical who banned books? And who started that rumor?]
MARTIN: Six hundred thousand. Thirteen percent of Americans, 39 million, still think he is Muslim. [He says Mooslum!] And we have done everything, Lou, to debunk that as an absolute lie. So, it is irrelevant.
[Rolly, how does whether 39M Americans think he's Moos-lum or not have anything to do with his birth certificate? Absolutely nothing. They already have a copy of his school registration that says, Religion: Moos-lum. As you said - he's president. What religion he is or is not (BTW: Has he picked out a church yet now that it is more politically expedient not to have one?) has nothing to do with his constitutional eligibility.]
DOBBS: OK. If you want to make it irrelevant, that’s fine.
POE: Well, I don’t know why you are getting so…
DOBBS: Yes, go ahead, Congressman.
POE: Well, I don’t know why you are getting so upset.
MARTIN: Because, Congressman, you probably — because you probably have better things to do, Congressman, than this silly little law here.
[If it's so damn silly, Rolly, why the testiclesteria?]
POE: … certificate for McCain. They were — your side was…
MARTIN: No, no, no, no, Congressman. Congressman, let me correct you with something.
POE: And, so, he produced his birth certificate..
MARTIN: Congressman, I want to…
POE: … territories of Arizona.
MARTIN: Congressman, Congressman, nice try. But, first of all, I voted Republicans and Democrats. So, don’t try the “your side.”
[Rolly, you just ain't on your game today. You said up there "WE have done everything, Lou, to debunk that as an absolute lie." So, yes, it is your side - not to mention all the things you've said and how proud you were to vote for a black man.]
MARTIN: I thought the left-wing people were nuts as well. I just want to correct you on that one.
POE: Why are you so upset? Produce the birth certificate. That’s all you have got to do.
MARTIN: No, no, because it is silly. It is silly.
MARTIN: It’s silly.
MARTIN: Are you losing sleep over this?
DOBBS: Look, Roland, look, Roland…
MARTIN: I mean, Lou, are you losing sleep over this?
DOBBS: Roland, here’s what I would like you to do. I would like you to remember, if you would — and I’m — and I’m trying to be as nice as I can be, but you areyelling and you’re getting awfully excited about something that, you know, doesn’t require this level of…
MARTIN: Well, I think it is hilarious.
[Rolly, quit while you're ahead. You thought it was hilarious in your rant and your tone matched. Your tone is very different tonite. Not only aer you pist - you are desperate and very much worried - which is most curious. What did you learn and from whom? And remember that whatever happens, barry and Michelle decided to put their egos ahead of their precious daughters' futures.]
DOBBS: Then laugh. But don’t — please, don’t…
MARTIN: But it’s utterly hilarious, Lou.
DOBBS: The congressman might take your remarks a different way. And I’m asking is that you just –you know, relax just a bit.
And let’s take a look at headlines from “The New York Times,” if we may, from last year, when at — at question was Senator John McCain’s citizenship, and see if we can see a difference in the way in which they have approached this — this issue.
This is “The New York Times.” “A hint of new life to the McCain birth issue.” “McCain’s canal zone birth prompts queries about whether that rules him out” — The New York Times,” and, in July of last year, with an article. I mean, it goes on. The issue of “Justices turn back on a challenge on Obama that has stopped squall of Internet-fueled rumors.” There’s an obvious difference in tone here from “The New York Times” when talking about John McCain than there is when they were talking about Barack Obama.
MARTIN: And I don’t care about the “New York Times” tone. The issue there…
DOBBS: But I do. And that’s why I bring it up.
MARTIN: Lou, your issue, though, is about a certificate. It’s not about how the media is covering it.
[The two go hand in hand. Had the media vetted him - had the media not been corrupted - this would not be a issue. Period.]
DOBBS: No, no. No, no.
MARTIN: So, which one is it?
DOBBS: My — my issue is this, OK? When this could be dispelled so quickly, and — and simply by producing it, why not do it?
MARTIN: He has produced a document that is satisfactory, but it’s not satisfactory to you. So, Lou, he’s not here to satisfy Lou Dobbs. He’s the president of the United States. He probably has other things that’s on his mind than satisfying Lou Dobbs.
DOBBS: Yes. And does that, then, what, just dismiss the concern?
MARTIN: No. He has presented a document that is legal. In the state of Hawaii, it is legal. It is a document. It’s there. Now, because you’re not satisfied, OK. And, Lou, if this…
[No one has confirmed that the document - which is just an image - is legal. A Hawaii COLB is legal in Hawaii but his has not been proven to have come from there. Call it semantics but it's true. And what's making people wonder - what is adding to the legitimacy - is the fact that he refuses to release his birth certificate.]
DOBBS: Don’t worry about my — don’t worry about my satisfaction.
MARTIN: No, no. MARTIN: Lou, you’re the one who is still making this an issue.
DOBBS: No, no, please. Again, did you hear what I said?
MARTIN: Yes.
DOBBS: I believe he’s a citizen.
MARTIN: OK. So, why even continue the story? Is it keeping you up at night? It is a non-issue. It is irrelevant. You say so many Americans care.
[All citizens should care. It's called the Constitution.]
MARTIN: No, it is an irrelevant issue. It’s been established. He’s the president.
DOBBS: All right. All right.
MARTIN: What is the big deal?
DOBBS: Is there a big deal here, Congressman Poe?
POE: Well, I don’t know that it’s a big deal, but the best way we can prevent anything from happening in the future is produce the birth certificate.
And, if you’re going to — if you have your child that wants to be in the little league, you have got to show up with the birth certificate. You have got to prove that he’s a resident. And why can’t the president do that? And that’s all this legislation does, so that, in future elections, we don’t have these disagreements, we don’t have these problems.
DOBBS: Yes.
POE: Just produce the birth certificate. The document from Hawaii is not a birth certificate. That’s the bottom line.
MARTIN: This document…
POE: It’s a legal document, but not the birth certificate.
MARTIN: Congressman, Congressman, this document couldn’t pass by the little league in Hawaii? I mean, I think, if you were still sitting on the bench, you would say this is another one of those irrelevant, useless lawsuits that we see every single day.
POE: I probably wouldn’t say that.
MARTIN: You were a tough judge in justice. And you would probably say, come on, give me a break. Move on, guys. This is a waste of the court’s time and Congress’ time.
DOBBS: So, you’re not content to speak for yourself. You’re going to speak for Congressman Poe as well.
MARTIN: You know what? As somebody who watched him every day, he was a tough judge.
(LAUGHTER)
DOBBS: Congressman, Congressman, you get the last word here.
(LAUGHTER)
POE: Well, without belaboring the point, in the future elections, you know, the president — candidates — now, this has come up. It came up with Romney. It came up with Goldwater. It came up with McCain. Now it’s come up with Obama. Let’s just get over this by producing a birth certificate in future elections, prove the person was in the country eight — 14 years, they’re over 35, and we won’t have these disagreements. And I think that’s what we ought to do. That’s…
DOBBS: Congressman Poe, by the way, is a co-sponsor of Congressman Posey’s legislation to do precisely that, which he introduced back in March.
Thank you very much for being here.
MARTIN: I will bring my birth certificate in next week, Lou.
[Sorry, Rolly, Lou gets the last laugh.]
DOBBS: You don’t need to, because some would suggest that would be absolutely irrelevant.(LAUGHTER)
